06:0175 inch armies and fights at 175 but the entire time david benavidez was fighting at 168 canelo alvarez

06:10was brought up and he never accepted the fight and so with that said now people are trying to project

06:19this fight on terence crawford and they're saying that terence crawford needs to take the fight

06:24so bomac yesterday did an interview and bomac said they're not fighting david benavidez

06:31and so now people are pushing this notion that terence crawford is ducking and terence crawford is

06:36scared of david benavidez and if he don't fight david benavidez timothy bradley offered one of the

06:43boldest takes saying crawford now belongs at the very top of boxing's all-time greats list bradley argued

06:50that while floyd mayweather perfected boxing in his era crawford showed he could take things to another

06:55level by defeating canelo at his best weight for bradley this wasn't just about beating canelo

07:01it was about changing the definition of what pound for pound greatness really means might be too late

07:08now it might be too late because guess what he done ain't nothing else he needs to do ain't nothing

08:03by crawford's display of speed pressure and precision he called the fight one of the most

08:08complete performances in modern boxing insisting that crawford has now proven himself nearly unbeatable

08:15mckenzie said the standard crawford set will be almost impossible for future fighters to match

08:22great in canelo alvarez really three weights above his natural weight class does that put him in the

08:27conversation with the likes of yourself as the the greatest fighter of all time yes it does and the

08:32reason it does is because he couldn't get the credibility down his own weight class so he went

08:36up just a little challenge himself to find it and he found a very vulnerable good opponent do you think

08:42canelo alvarez is on the decline or not no i don't think he's on the decline at all so you you think

08:47both fighters are still at their peak even though they're 36 37 yeah i think they're both still at their

08:52peak uh the the age for crawford would seem like he may be beyond it but he hasn't had the fights the

08:57tough fights we would have put in there and the years of boxing for canelo would have put him up

09:02put him in a position where they're by equal so i think they both are pretty much in a great place

09:06i think they're both still in their primes and this is the best time trainer robert garcia praised

09:11crawford in perhaps the strongest way saying he achieved more than mayweather in this context

09:17garcia explained that crawford dominated canelo across nearly every round something floyd never

09:23attempted at such a high risk level for him crawford's willingness to take risks and succeed

09:29is what separates true legends from ordinary champions feeling do you understand what he

10:04he's had his kids and his wife in the back of the car and he's got out and he's struggling around

10:08like he owns the gaff now that that that that all that signified to me was a very comfortable

10:14um man it's just it was too comfortable and terence crawford just kept it real from the outset

10:22track suit no nonsense went there to win said what he was going to do told the world what he was going

10:28to do long before the fight i think he asked for this fight many many many many years ago the

10:35discussion he had with with bill haney and i think it was him that actually suggested call out canelo

10:40which he laughed at in the beginning but then it came to fruition and now it's come to fruition i

10:46mean what you saw in that fight yesterday what i watched in that fight yesterday it was for the

10:52purist it really was because you have to you really have to try and understand boxing and know what

10:57you're looking at it was the feints it was the way that he handled the bigger man it was the little

11:02the little feints the little the little side steps the little flicking with the jabs you know hitting

11:06him with the head and the body the little combinations little twos and threes and also

11:11with with with crawford knowing how knowing how to close close around knowing how to win rounds

11:18brian norman senior was direct in his comparison stating that crawford's demolition of canelo was

11:24far more punishing than anything mayweather ever did he reminded fans that canelo wasn't simply defeated

11:31he was broken down by a fighter who jumped two divisions to face him norman emphasized that

11:37canelo's long reign as the face of boxing ended in one night in a way few could have imagined canelo

11:44has already accomplished too much has already done too much and he wasn't i i don't see that hunger in

11:49him anymore i don't see that that that those changes anymore he fights flat-footed throws one punch at

11:56a time he's not fast anymore and that's why i picked uh crawford by decision are you surprised how easy

12:02it was look not that i'm surprised because what i just told you i think crawford's crawford is very

12:09talented and crawford is hungry to become a uh a legend he wanted to become that three three time

12:17three division undisputed he wanted to go he wanted to make history by going up two divisions to beat canelo

12:24one of the greatest of of all time uh so he was hungry for it i think canelo has already done so

12:30much has made so much money that he's not hungry anymore you think possibly that crawford is up there

12:35with uh pacquiao or mayweather i think in accomplishments he's he's three three division uh undisputed

12:44moved up two divisions to beat canelo so he's probably yeah he's accomplished more than more than uh

12:50more than more than mayweather for sure mayweather never became undisputed but that doesn't mean he's

12:57better than mayweather i think in a fight at welterweight mayweather in his prime would be

13:03would be crawford and pacquiao in his prime would probably be crawford but crawford has accomplished

13:11more do you think uh crawford should retire after this or fight someone else look i think a rematch

13:16would be good for for crawford to just beat him again and and do the same thing if if canelo

13:22doesn't have any changes if he doesn't he needs to do a lot of changes canelo needs to do a lot of

13:26changes uh i think a rematch would do triple the money that he did in this fight and and and and

13:34then retire but but i would be so boxing icon andre ward placed crawford's win in its proper context

13:41calling it a generational fight that fans will remember for decades he admired crawford's

13:46discipline calmness and focus throughout the bout saying those qualities are what transformed great

13:52fighters into timeless legends forward this victory elevated crawford into the rarest category of boxing

14:00greatness i didn't think that bud was the best i gotta give it to him but he's the best right he's

14:34think that i think he was already in canelo head a little bit i think that even though canelo knew

14:39he was smaller and everything else these fighters are still humans and they hear what the people are

14:44saying um canelo was i'm sorry not canelo uh crawford was undefeated look at what he did to the um

14:52um spits i mean look at what he's doing to some of these people so no matter what i mean you you

14:58have to take that into consideration you know what i'm saying even no matter what he did against

15:02mcremorf or whatever else you gotta take consideration what bud has been known to do

15:06when it's time to do it you know what i'm saying so again i think canelo respected him and uh um i think

15:12that was the biggest thought canelo just said uh in the press conference that he's better than

15:17proof it's better than mayweather having shared the ring with both what do you think i mean i think

15:23i think that's one of the things i think that's one of the things that's it's opinionated situation

15:28because styles make fights he beat him up he beat canelo up worse than mayweather beat him up he

15:34definitely did that so in that case you can ask the question did he beat him up worse than floyd did

15:39absolutely uh but i i i mean i and that would be opinionated than the styles make fights you just never

15:45know you know what i'm saying different different eras yeah different eras different it's a different

15:50a lot of things yeah uh three kind of hours time what was your thoughts on uh that performance from

15:56canelo from terrace let's see if james cover this great performance man um he's been doing this

16:01throughout the course of his career the stakes were a little a lot different in this fight a lot more

16:06danger um he had to fight that kind of fight in order to beat canelo alvarez tonight and he did that at

16:1338 37 but getting ready to be 38 years old uh and he proved like max said that he is the gold of this

16:19generation hats off to canelo for taking the fight he didn't have to take it hats off to turkey ala

16:24sheets for putting it together uh just a great great night for boxing yeah how special a fighter is

16:30someone like terence crawford to like there was no signs of a size disadvantage there um how special

16:35you can see it in spots but it wasn't significant and i didn't think it was going to be significant

16:40and people call me crazy but i've been around terrence um he's strong he's got a wrestling

16:46background and people don't realize that he's been boiling himself down all these years and still

16:52being successful not having to do that his condition seemed impeccable and his strength was there the

16:59power was there enough to get respect from canelo so what more can i say what would you like to see

17:04him do next you think there's another fight after this i'd like to see him be done what what are we

17:07boxing for at this point what else is there to do there's always going to be a youtuber

17:12or a reporter or somebody conjuring up another challenge we box to get ourselves in a better

17:18financial position to build a name and a legacy those boxes and that wraps up today's breakdown
