00:00Welcome everyone. So yes, today we are going to understand how to solve division of two mixed fractions.
00:08Okay, lot of people think that you know this and this can get cancelled.
00:13This is 1's and 3's are that is why the answer for this question should be 3.
00:17No, that is not how things work, especially when you have a mixed fraction involved.
00:22The first job is to convert the mixed fraction in its improper form.
00:27Now, how do we do this? The denominator continues to remain same, but in the numerator, the denominator gets multiplied to the integer part.
00:35This is the integer part, okay? And whatever is the answer, that gets added to the numerator.
00:41So here, this becomes 28 upon 3.
00:45Similarly, for 3, 1 by 3, it will be 3 multiplied by 3 plus 1 upon 3.
00:54So, answer would be 10 by 3.
00:58So, now your actual question has changed to 28 by 3 divided by 10 by 3.
01:05Now, whenever there is a division involved, especially with fractions, we will follow the rule of KCF.
01:11Where, K stands for keeping the first fraction as it is.
01:17C stands for changing the division sign to multiplication.
01:21F stands for flipping or taking reciprocal of the next fraction.
01:26So, next reciprocal of 10 upon 3 is 3 upon 10.
01:29So, here what happens is, we are left with 28 upon 10, which can be written as 2.8 or which can also be written as 14 by 5.
01:45Which can be written in its mixed fraction form, which would be 2, 4 by 5.
01:51Or you can simply say it is 2.8.
01:55Okay?
01:55So, I hope you have understood how to solve these kind of problems.
01:59That's it for today.
02:00I will see you in the next video.
