00:00And welcome to this special edition of Hannity. Coming up, we have a major announcement you're not going to want to miss out.
00:06Let's say this. You can join us. Plus, more violence from the left as anti-Ice rioters caused yet another night of chaos in Portland.
00:15DHS Secretary Kristi Noem showed up at an ICE protest in Illinois, leading to yet another temper tantrum.
00:22What a shock from the state's failed governor, J.B. Pritzker.
00:25Now, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin will respond tonight in a moment.
00:30But first, the Democrats' destructive agenda, it is wreaking havoc all across the country.
00:36And that has never been more readily apparent than with this week's Schumer shutdown.
00:40And everyone needs to understand one fundamental truth about why we are in this position.
00:46Because this goes directly against every single solitary, publicly stated position Chucky has taken during his long career over decades.
00:57He is only doing this to try to appease the radical wing of the Democratic Party.
01:03In other words, the real leaders of the Democratic Party.
01:06Grandpa Bernie, Pocahontas, AOC, the squad, Jasmine Crockett, and of course their new hero, communist commie Marxist Zoran Mamdani.
01:17And the most pathetic part for Schumer is this will make no difference.
01:21The radicals now holding the Democratic Party hostage, they hate Schumer.
01:26They'll continue to hate Schumer.
01:27He's had a 17% approval rating.
01:29This is his last rodeo earlier this week.
01:32AOC even told Republicans, go negotiate with her in her office.
01:37That sparked outrage from Nancy Pelosi.
01:40Make no mistake, Schumer, Jeffries, just like Pelosi, the old leaders of the Democratic Party,
01:46they are only leaders in name only, being held hostage by the radical wing of their party.
01:53And they're scared to death.
01:54The Democrats have completely lost their way.
01:57They've jumped the shark.
01:58And if you need any more proof of any of this, look no further than their pathetic attempts to spin the Schumer shutdown.
02:05Earlier this week, Hakeem Jeffries hosted a live stream on his YouTube page featuring Democratic lawmakers, influencers,
02:13some that even had like 13, 14 million followers.
02:17But according to Politico reporter Adam Wren, the bizarre stunt failed miserably.
02:22Cringeworthy moments.
02:23At times, only a few dozen people watching.
02:28People know the Democrats are radicalized.
02:31And while Democrats are struggling to form any cohesive messaging other than flat out lying to all of you,
02:37House Speaker Mike Johnson, he's out there all over the place telling the truth, setting the record straight,
02:43attacking Chuck Schumer for caving to the radical wing of his party.
02:47Take a look.
02:48Chuck Schumer, who leads the Democrats, is terrified that he's not going to win back his Senate seat.
02:53He's afraid that the Marxist far left corner of his base is going to challenge him in New York.
02:58Maybe many of you have noticed New York is probably going to elect a Marxist for mayor.
03:03He's terrified by that development.
03:05Chuck Schumer is a far left progressive politician, but he's not far enough left for this base.
03:10And so he's got to show a fight against the president.
03:12He's got to show that he's fighting Republicans.
03:14We're limited government conservatives.
03:16We think the government's too big.
03:17We think the federal government is too big.
03:19It does too many things, and it does almost nothing well.
03:21And so it serves the taxpayers to send less of their hard-earned money to Washington and keep more in their pockets.
03:26That's what we're advancing through the one big, beautiful bill and all the legislative priorities that we achieve.
03:31But, see, sometimes Democrats, not sometimes, all the time, Democrats don't agree with that because they love big government.
03:36I mean, listen to them.
03:37They want the government to control every aspect of your lives, and they need all of your hard-earned dollars to do that.
03:42In fact, they'd like to take them all.
03:43That's what the socialists are arguing for.
03:44That's what the Marxists believe.
03:47Now, during that same press earlier today, Speaker Johnson also laid out everyone being hurt by the Schumer shutdown,
03:54showing America just how destructive the Schumer shutdown is and how Schumer's kowtowing to the far left,
04:02how impactful it is in a negative way to the country.
04:05Take a look.
04:06Who's getting hurt?
04:08Women, infants and children.
04:10Nutrition programs that are now stalled.
04:12Veterans health services that will not be provided.
04:15People who are low-income Medicare recipients who receive telehealth and health treatment at home.
04:21Many of those programs are not being funded.
04:23We have troops and TSA agents and Border Patrol agents who are working without pay, protecting the country.
04:28And you have FEMA services, health insurance policies, for example, that are being stalled in the middle of a hurricane season because the Democrats want to play political games and try to obscure the real facts at issue.
04:40All right, but the biggest issue at play this week is the left's big, big lie claiming, oh, the shutdown has nothing to do with your hard-earned taxpayer dollars funding health care for illegal immigrants.
04:55Make no mistake, they have been lying to you all week.
04:59Every American has been lied to about this issue.
05:02Last night we showed you the exact language in their proposed spending plan that would have allowed your taxpayer dollars to fund health care for illegals.
05:13You know, people that don't respect our laws, our border, our sovereignty.
05:16Again, earlier today, Speaker Johnson laid it out in no uncertain terms.
05:22This is the truth you won't see in the legacy media mob.
05:25Take a look.
05:26Page 57, section 2141.
05:29You see the highlighted language.
05:31There's a lot of legalese in this legislation, in these bills, but it says that they want to repeal the health subtitle changes.
05:37What does that refer to?
05:39You read down here, Public Law 119-21.
05:42That's the one big, beautiful bill.
05:44That's the American family's tax cut.
05:46Some of the most important provisions in that law was that it eliminated fraud and abuse of our health system.
05:53Medicaid has been rife with fraud and abuse, and so we reformed it.
05:57Why?
05:58To help provide more and better health services for the American people.
06:02By the CBO's estimate, about 1.4 million illegal aliens were receiving Medicaid benefits
06:10that were intended only for U.S. citizens that met the categories I just described.
06:14So we did the common sense thing, the right thing, the just thing, and we put it in the law,
06:19and the president signed that, gladly signed it into law.
06:23They want to repeal it.
06:24They want to give those resources back to illegal aliens.
06:27That's exactly what that highlighted language means.
06:30So you see the final total there, $192.8 billion of your hard-earned taxpayer dollars
06:37that Chuck Schumer and the Democrats want to give back to illegal aliens.
06:42That's a fact, and nobody can refute it.
06:46All right, it's a tipping point for the country.
06:48You talk about a midterm that's going to be important.
06:50This is the biggest choice election imperative midterm coming up in 26 in our lifetime.
06:57This is what we are up against.
07:00The Democrats, they want a whopping $1.5 trillion new government funding to refund NPR.
07:07PBS, allow your hard-earned money to support health care for illegals.
07:13They want $1.5 trillion to fund the government for a mere seven weeks.
07:18Now, Democrats, they have made a colossal miscalculation
07:22because the shutdown has now allowed Republicans and Donald Trump
07:27to get to work dismantling the bloated bureaucracy that Washington has become.
07:33The one that's bankrupting the country.
07:35The one that's robbing your kids' and grandkids' future.
07:38Early today, President Trump posted an AI-generated video
07:41depicting OMB director Russ Vogt as the Grim Reaper,
07:45signaling that major spending cuts and cuts to dysfunctional bureaucratic systems are coming.
07:53By the way, a lot of these jobs may not be coming back if they are deemed unnecessary.
07:58The government is bloated, too big, too out of control, too bureaucratic.
08:02And after Hakeem Jeffries awkwardly tried to dodge questions
08:06about whether members of Congress would continue to be paid
08:09before Jasmine Crockett confirmed that they would,
08:12Well, Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno,
08:15he introduced legislation to impose a tax on lawmakers
08:19that would eat away at their paychecks if there's a government shutdown that continues.
08:24Now, the Democratic Party is being held hostage by the new leaders of their party.
08:29This is the radicalized, you know, Marxist, Mamdani, socialist left,
08:34and the squad, and the Green New Deal Democrats,
08:38and their destructive agenda, which would wreak havoc across the country.
08:42So the Schumer shutdown, which is nothing more than a desperate ploy by Chucky
08:46to appease this crazy base, you know, because he is blinded by his diminishing power
08:52and blinded by his political ambition, continues.
08:56Here with more, Missouri Senator Eric Schmidt.
08:59All right, you're behind the curtain.
09:01You're talking to these people behind closed doors.
09:04Do they not realize how bad this is for them?
09:06I think some of them do, Sean.
09:09It's great to be with you.
09:11But you're right.
09:12The Democrat Party now has been captured by the radical left.
09:15They are obsessed with this idea that they have to fight President Trump on every turn.
09:20And what does it mean in this instance?
09:22It means that instead of voting for a clean CR that funds the government for another seven weeks
09:26while we work to finish the appropriations process,
09:28they want to hold it up to give free health care for illegal immigrants $1.5 trillion worth of new spending,
09:34including, by the way, pulling back that rescissions package.
09:37So they want to fund NPR, Guatemalan sex changes, DEI in Burma, Sesame Street in Iraq,
09:43all that stuff that's super unpopular.
09:45They're willing to lay that all on the line to appease the radical base.
09:48And I don't think they've hit rock bottom yet, but there's no question about it.
09:52But they've entered into this fray now with the instructions of the radical left to shut down the government.
09:58And everything that happens after this is on them.
10:00The ball's in their court.
10:01They refused to fund the government.
10:03We're now in day three of Schumer's shutdown.
10:05We're going to see how long it goes.
10:07Okay.
10:08So they lied about the border being closed and secure for four years.
10:12No prominent Democrat that I know of said, wait a minute, it's not closed.
10:17Wait a minute, we need to vet these people.
10:19Nobody did that.
10:20They didn't have the courage to take on the leadership in their party.
10:23So they allowed 12 to 20 million people in.
10:26Okay, now we're paying health care benefits for them.
10:28The American people don't like it.
10:30Now they're attacking ICE agents that are doing their job.
10:35They won't criticize, you know, the radical language, Nazi, racist, fascist.
10:41Then, of course, they defund, dismantle, no bail law, madness, and reimagine the police.
10:46Where do they think this is going to take them electorally?
10:50Because you don't have to be a pollster or having graduated from MIT or Harvard, you know, business school to understand the math isn't there on 80, 20, 90, 10 issues.
11:04What are they thinking?
11:06Well, they're on the wrong side of the 80, 20 issues, which is why their popularity is around that 20 percent.
11:11I mean, they've got, you know, one of the senators going down to El Salvador having margaritas with a wife beating, you know, Tran de Agua gang member.
11:21They're on the other side of ICE.
11:23They're defending these attacks.
11:25They want to dox ICE agents.
11:27I was just actually on the Senate floor earlier today, Sean, trying to pass by unanimous consent bipartisan police funding bills.
11:33They objected to that because they're just completely lost their way here.
11:38And like I said, the Democrat Party now has been captured by the radical left.
11:42These people who used to write these crazy white papers like there are no such thing as borders, they're kind of running the party now.
11:48And Chuck Schumer is afraid of his own shadow.
11:51He's worried AOC is going to run against him.
11:54I think actually, Sean, if we get out of this thing, you're going to have to, we need five more Democrats.
11:58They're going to have to probably be Democrats who are, you know, retiring or more moderate members.
12:02My prediction is Chuck Schumer will never vote for it, even though he's a Democrat leader, because he's so petrified of the left in New York.
12:09So they've got a lot of problems.
12:11And I think the Republicans, we have the high ground here.
12:13We want a clean CR.
12:14Let's fund the government, get through the appropriations bills.
12:16We've done the one big, beautiful bill.
12:17We've secured the border.
12:18We've got money for the military.
12:19We've got money for deportations.
12:21That's what the American people want when they voted for a return to common sense.
12:24Okay, but they'll get their Marxist kami mamnani probably in New York City.
12:30That's probably a likelihood and a fait accompli.
12:32However, polls are showing it's a dead heat in the state of New Jersey.
12:36It's a deep blue state.
12:38And Jack Cittarelli could win there.
12:40That, to me, shows that hardworking Americans are going to start rejecting, and you see this in registration numbers as well, that they're losing voters.
12:53Republicans are gaining millions of voters.
12:55So you would think they'd notice this data and do something to change course.
13:02Well, one of the problems they have is President Trump has put together this new coalition, this broad coalition for the new Republican Party.
13:08That's this working-class party.
13:11And he increased his numbers in every demographic, black men, young, white, you know, younger voters.
13:17He's really cut into what the Democrats used to count on, including Hispanic voters.
13:20He's really cut into those margins that the Democrats had and is winning in some of them.
13:24So they don't have any other play to run, Sean, except to fight Trump and be the resistance.
13:30They're not a governing party.
13:31They're not appealing to the vast working class of this party that they used to, but no longer.
13:37That's now Republican-based, which is a good thing for us.
13:39We've got to make sure people turn out.
13:41But they keep chasing the wishes and the whims of the radical left.
13:44They're shedding voters, and I think they're going to keep losing elections.
13:48All right, Senator Schmidt, we appreciate you being with us.
13:51All right, here now with Reaction, Fox News contributors Ari Fleischer, Guy Benson, Kaylee McGee-White.
13:56Kaylee, we start with you.
13:57Let's pick up where Senator Schmidt left off here.
14:00And that is they keep doubling down.
14:04No introspection, no self-reflection, no course correction.
14:08How's that going to play out?
14:09It's a year since last election.
14:12Yeah, I think this reveals a core problem within the Democratic Party right now, which is that they're not interested in,
14:17and maybe they're not even capable of convincing people that their policies are the right ones.
14:22So instead, they delay, they deflect, and they gaslight in order to force their policies onto the public,
14:28which they know they would never pass otherwise.
14:31And I think this is really helpful for the American voters to see heading into next month's elections and also into the critically important midterms next year,
14:39which is that there are going to be a lot of Democrats who claim to be moderate this next time around.
14:44They're going to claim that they sit in the middle of the road.
14:46But when the rubber meets the road, what are they voting for?
14:50They are voting to subsidize health care for illegal aliens.
14:53They are voting to expand the size and scope of government.
14:56And they are voting to ultimately take more from you, the hardworking American taxpayer, and give it to everyone else.
15:03That is not acceptable.
15:05The American voters rejected that this last time around, and I believe that they'll reject it again.
15:09What do you think, Guy, as you look at this, how is this going to play out?
15:15It's a year post-presidential election, a year to the next midterm.
15:20How does this play out?
15:22It doesn't seem like they've learned very many lessons, Sean.
15:25And the thing is, I would respect this more, this shutdown of theirs, if they were just more honest about it, right?
15:32They're trying to pretend like this is the Trump shutdown or the Republican shutdown, which is insane.
15:37It's the Democrats filibustering us into the shutdown.
15:39That's the clear reality.
15:41So just own it.
15:42Don't try to blame other people.
15:43Say, yes, we're proud.
15:45We're shutting down the government because we believe these issues matter so much.
15:50Here's why.
15:51And then make the case for why you're shutting down the government.
15:53This is their proposal.
15:55It's their plan, if you want to call it that.
15:57Own it and then sell it and defend it.
16:00They can't even do that.
16:01They're trying to kind of pull off a shutdown while saying the other guys are doing it.
16:06And then they're also pretending that they're not in favor of our taxpayer dollars going to fund illegal immigrant health care.
16:12That is the policy position of the Democratic Party.
16:15Own that as well.
16:16Say, yes, we want your dollars going to illegal immigrants for health care.
16:20That's our position.
16:21And we're willing to shut down the government to do it.
16:24Be honest about it and see how that goes.
16:26I think they know how that would go, which is why they're being dishonest.
16:28Then you can compare, Ari, and contrast, you know, the speed of Donald Trump.
16:35And that is the largest tax cuts in history.
16:38That is $17 trillion in committed investment for manufacturing.
16:42That is energy dominance.
16:44That is controlling the border, securing the border.
16:46That is getting rid of criminal illegals in the country.
16:49That is Donald Trump, you know, working hard and expending a lot of political capital on the world stage to bring about peace as we see this peace deal.
17:00And it's unfolding in the Middle East now.
17:04When America sees this, what are they going to think?
17:07Well, this is exactly why Republicans and Donald Trump cannot crack as this government is shut down.
17:16This is a definitional tee in the road for the Republican Party.
17:20What the Democrats are fighting for is the expansion on a permanent basis of all the COVID rules.
17:24This is what they want the American people to continue to live under the temporary COVID rules that were passed back then.
17:32This also represents a chance for the Democrats to make people who make up to $120,000 a year qualify for a welfare program that's called Obamacare.
17:43That is what this is all about.
17:44This is the Democrats putting a stake in the ground for permanent, bigger government using the cover of COVID, which has long been over.
17:51That's, again, why they're shutting the government down.
17:54And the Democrats will crack first.
17:56And here's the reason why.
17:57The people who have suffered the most under this are federal employees.
18:01Almost all federal employees, overwhelmingly, are Democrats and union members.
18:07The longer they go without a paycheck, the more pressure they'll put on their natural constituents, the Democratic elected officials.
18:15That is the path Republicans have got to take.
18:17Let the government open, deal with all the policy issues.
18:20But the Democrat attempt to make permanent the COVID rules has got to be stopped.
18:26Republicans cannot crack.
18:29But, Ari, look at the big picture.
18:32You know, on every 80-20, 85-15, 90-10 issue, they're at odds with the American people.
18:39And they keep clinging to it.
18:41Makes no sense.
18:44Yeah.
18:45And, Sean, you touched on the Middle East just a second ago.
18:48Let me note a real big warning sign here.
18:51The Hamas word for no is yes.
18:55So when they say yes, we'll release the hostages.
18:57But no, we're not saying anything about disarming.
19:00No, we're not saying anything about having Donald Trump or anybody who's not a Hamas supporter, part of the security arrangements for Hamas.
19:08They're essentially saying no.
19:09They're teasing and tantalizing because they say they will release the hostages.
19:13And then they want to hold out for everything else.
19:16Hamas is essentially saying, no, don't be fooled by what's going on.
19:21If they don't know by now that Donald Trump means what he says, then they have a rude awakening coming.
19:26And he will unleash hell, as he said earlier today.
19:30Kayleigh, let's go back to 85-15, 80-20, 90-10.
19:34How does one party fall on the wrong side of every major issue?
19:38Because they can't afford not to.
19:41You know, let's take health care for illegal aliens, for example.
19:44Every single Democratic state pays for health care for illegal aliens.
19:49Now, they claim that they're using state funds to do it.
19:51But ultimately, those state funds are coming from the federal government because that money is fungible and is moved into those programs.
19:58California, for example, spent $6 billion on emergency services for illegal aliens.
20:04And that was after they explicitly passed a program to subsidize those programs for illegal aliens.
20:10They're out in the open doing it.
20:12If the federal government shuts off the money for those programs, those states are going to be in real financial trouble.
20:18So they can't afford not to advocate for these things.
20:22Well, they can't afford to do it politically.
20:25You know, you have to defy, Guy, political gravity if you're the party in power and then win the midterm.
20:32However, with all that said, I think the Republicans are well positioned to do it.
20:37Thoughts?
20:38Well, it's a heavy lift historically, as you alluded to, Sean.
20:42It's going to be tough for the Republicans.
20:43But I think generally the public is looking for non-insanity in government.
20:49And the Democrats are really not offering much.
20:51Non-insanity.
20:52That's a low bar.
20:53It's a very low bar, but the Democrats are struggling to clear it.
20:57Yeah.
20:58It's a good point.
20:59All right.
21:00We're going to see.
21:01It's not that far away.
21:02It'll be here in the flash of a blink of an eye.
21:06Guys, thank you.
21:07Appreciate it.
21:07When we come back, President Trump working tirelessly to keep America safe while left-wing protesters
21:13continue to wreak havoc in Portland and Chicago, DHS Secretary, Assistant Secretary for Public
21:20Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin.
21:22All right.
21:22Earlier today, President Trump and the Secretary of War announced that our military blew up yet
21:27another narco-terrorist drug boat near Venezuela in a Truth Social post.
21:33President Trump said that he had had enough drugs on board to kill up to 50,000 people.
21:40Now, that is just one way the Trump administration is now reversing the steady flow of drugs and
21:46illegals that crossed into our country under the Biden administration.
21:51Another way is, of course, the mass deportation effort that ICE has undertaken, an operation
21:56which the left continues to oppose with their dangerous consequences.
22:01We have known terrorists and murderers and rapists and cartel members, gang members,
22:04other violent criminals, drug dealers.
22:07Now, the director of the ICE office in Portland spoke with our very own Bill Malusian about
22:13what her agents are facing there.
22:15Take a look.
22:16I can tell you here there's something been going on every night since June.
22:20It's been like over 100 days straight.
22:23Actually, it's I can't even count how many numbers of days that we've had constant protests,
22:28constant people outside.
22:31We've had bottle rockets launched at our folks in the building.
22:36We've had rocks thrown through the building.
22:38We've had all our windows broken out on the first floor.
22:44We have had lasers pointed at our officers' eyes.
22:48We have, I mean, there's a whole gamut of things.
22:52Our cars are blocked in.
22:54They ripped off our gate.
22:55Now, apparently, the leftist mob in Portland is looking for a fight.
23:00They chased down conservative, independent journalist Nick Sautor last night.
23:05And when he tried to defend himself, he was arrested by the Portland police,
23:09charged with disorderly conduct.
23:11He's the victim.
23:12And it's not just Portland.
23:14DHS Secretary Kristi Noem recently went to Chicago,
23:17where the left there continued to attack and demonize ICE.
23:21And now, her also.
23:22And that idiot governor there, Governor J.B. Pritzker, wrote on X shortly after the visit,
23:28Secretary Noem, quote,
23:29should no longer be able to step foot inside the state of Illinois without any form of public accountability.
23:36More dangerous, demonizing rhetoric.
23:39You would think after Dallas, maybe he'd keep his mouth shut.
23:43And DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin, she joins us now with reaction.
23:49First, your reaction to Pritzker.
23:51Has he ever heard of the supremacy clause in our Constitution?
23:55You know, the jurisdiction lies with the federal government when it comes to federal law.
24:00Maybe he needs to go back to school.
24:03Oh, exactly, Sean.
24:05He is nepped and he is spineless.
24:07Secretary Noem is actually bringing accountability to Chicago and Illinois.
24:11I was just on the ground with her earlier today where we were conducting operations with Border Patrol
24:16and ICE to get these criminals off of J.B. Pritzker's streets because he refuses to do it himself.
24:22And by the way, these members of Border Patrol and ICE,
24:25they're all making America's streets safer while they go without pay because of the Democrats' shutdown.
24:31So these are very brave men and women who just care about the mission.
24:34And as you mentioned before, Sean, we're getting MS-13 gang members known and suspected terrorists
24:40just yesterday out of Millennium Park in Chicago.
24:43They picked up a notorious drug trafficker who's been funneling thousands of pounds of cocaine
24:49and other deadly drugs into Illinois' communities.
24:51And that's what we're going to continue to do.
24:53And we will not be deterred by J.B. Pritzker.
24:55Can you explain why this conservative journalist, Nick Sorter, was arrested and taken into custody
25:03when the violence has been coming night after night after night from these radicals?
25:10Yes, Secretary Noem has seen these images and she's ordered a surge of federal resources
25:16in partnership with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Kash Patel as well.
25:20They've been great partners.
25:21We're going to have a surge of resources from ICE, from CBP, from the FBI and from DEI as well.
25:27We're going to have an investigation into exactly what happened because that is so un-American.
25:32This young, bright journalist was attacked by a mob and he is defending himself.
25:37And the fact that the local police would arrest the victim and let those perpetrators go free is ridiculous.
25:45That local government and those politicians are aiding and abetting domestic terrorists and criminals.
25:50And it has to stop now.
25:52This violence under President Trump and Secretary Noem is going to end.
25:55Sean.
26:00Agitators clashed with police arrests made as a clergy member descended on Newark ICE facility.
26:07Democrats stormed Delaney Hall last week.
26:11Dozens of clergy members protested outside an ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey,
26:16on Monday saying they would continue to block the gate, accessing the facility until they are arrested.
26:23The group is composed of roughly 50 clergy members from Faith in New Jersey and Faith in Action.
26:30They linked arms outside the main gate of Delaney Hall Detention Centre as they chanted and sang songs.
26:36Several speakers also said prayers for the inmates inside the facility and condemned their detention.
26:42The clergy members said they have volunteered to be arrested and that they will attempt to enter the ICE facility.
26:51An ambulance turned away from entering a gated area that the protesters were blocking on Monday
26:57because authorities feared the protesters might rush in if the gate were opened.
27:03One protester told Fox News nobody called the ambulance, calling a tactic to get them to move.
27:11There was no danger there, he said.
27:14We're not going to be moved.
27:16We'll be here as long as it takes until the people start to realise this is not acceptable.
27:20By around 5pm, events began to flare up as the employers of the facility attempted to drive out of the gated area.
27:27Police moved protesters out of the way, though the protesters would resist and oppose the being torched.
27:35At least two protesters were arrested by Newark police during the event.
27:40Newark Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda said the two individuals who were arrested face obstruction and resisting arrest charges.
27:49One officer suffered a minor laceration to the arm due to the incident.
27:53Though he will remain on duty, no other injuries were reported.
27:57In response to Fox News' reporting on the event on Monday, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Trekega McCarlin asked
28:06who do they want released from Delaney Hall?
28:09The child rapists, the murderers, drug traffickers, MS-13 gang members or non-terrorists?
28:16This was a cheap political stunt by the Democrats and by these protesters, she said.
28:21We're not having it. They put law enforcement officers at risk.
28:25They put our staff in the facility at risk and put detainees at risk.
28:29You saw that they didn't even let an ambulance through.
28:31This is not something that this administration is going to pull up with.
28:35And that's part of the reason that this mayor was arrested.
28:38You can't just storm a detention facility and assault law enforcement officers with impunity.
28:43McLaughlin's comments come after the ICE director told Fox News that 75% of the detainees at the facility have either committed a crime,
28:54are convicted of a crime or have pending criminal charges.
28:58Recent polling shows an overwhelming majority of Americans, 83%, support deporting at least some illegal immigrants.
29:06According to the Pew Research Centre, roughly 32% of Americans say they support deporting all illegal immigrants.
29:13And of those who only support deporting some, 97% are in favour of removing any who have committed violent crimes.
29:21A trio of Democratic lawmakers who participated in the storming of Delaney Hall last week
29:27doubled down on their actions last week, arguing the Trump administration is weaponising law enforcement.
29:32The protest comes days after Democratic lawmakers and protesters on Friday stormed the gate of the facility.
29:43Meanwhile, McLaughlin has said the detention centre is housing murderers, terrorists, child rapists and ever-13 gang members.
29:50The Department of Homeland Security posted on social media about the identities of several inmates.
29:56The allegations by Newark politicians that Delaney does not have problem permitting is false.
30:06Meet who the New Jersey lawmakers are fighting for, the DHS wrote.
30:11Reps Lamonica McLeod, Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez, all Democrats from New Jersey,
30:18made the comments during a joint appearance on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday.
30:23Kiosk ensured when someone on the phone above the leaders of ICE who were with us at that facility
30:31instructed them to go out of the facility, go to the private property and lock the mayor of the largest city
30:37in the state of New Jersey up, Coleman said.
30:40That's absurd. That's un-American. That's scary.
30:46That's determination to intimidate people in the country, she added, claiming the administration is lying at all levels.
30:55Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was also present and was arrested and charged with trespassing.
31:00Authorities claim an ICE agent was assaulted in a confrontation which was caught on camera.
