00:00Bersatu Secretary-General Azmin Ali has dismissed fresh claims by Party Supreme Council member

00:06Wan Saiful Wan Can over a 2019 video allegedly of the former engaging in homosexual acts.

00:13Azmin said Wan Saiful's remarks at a press conference this week showed a failure to rely

00:17on facts and knowledge and reflected a culture of slander that risked further dividing the party,

00:22Hutusan Malaysia reported. Azmin also brushed off speculation about his ties with Puff,

00:28insisting that relations with the Islamic party in Selangor and on the national level remain strong.

00:34Wan Saiful had said that Azmin was unfit to lead Bersatu as long as the controversy surrounding

00:39the 2019 video remained unresolved. He claimed to have received new information, suggesting that

00:45the video was authentic, saying this revelation had shifted his support, although he was previously

00:50among Azmin's closest allies. The clip allegedly showed Azmin with another man at a hotel in Sandakan.

00:58Hazik Aziz, the Santubong PKR Youth Chief at the time, subsequently released a video confession

01:03naming himself and Azmin as the two men in the clip. Azmin, who was then the Economic Affairs Minister

01:10and PKR Deputy President, denied the allegation, calling it a plot to end his political career.

01:16Several Bersatu state chapters called for disciplinary action against Wan Saiful following his remarks.
