00:00We got instead is one of the more exciting Sundays in Ryder Cup history, and you were out there covering multiple different groups.
00:07You talked to Graham McDowell on the front end of this about just what it's like being out there on the course and hearing the murmurs and the energy and excitement build.
00:15How did you feel when you were out there today on the broadcast?
00:17Well, what a day, a day that I definitely will not forget.
00:20And shout out to Jackson Charlie for their first Ryder Cup to get a Sunday like this.
00:24I mean, are you kidding me?
00:25Like, this was a day I'm definitely not going to forget.
00:29We had just all of the, you know, it felt like it was going to be a dud today.
00:32I think everybody woke up and said, man, how bad are they going to win, like you said?
00:36But what the Europeans did not experience at all this week was any sense of momentum from the American players, the crowd, the energy.
00:46And to me, that was the storyline of Sunday because a little bit surprising, but understandably,
00:52because Luke Donald has been on the offensive with his lineups, and you knew American was going to have to front load.
00:58And he decided to front load when you could have made a case of putting those guys in the middle of the deal to maybe go up against lesser matchups.
01:09And once the Americans turned the corner on the 18th hole with the Cam Young win, the JT win, Bryson DeChambeau losing his first five out of his first seven holes,
01:19coming back to tie that match.
01:21And suddenly you started looking at the board and you're like, OK, I see a bunch of tied matches, but I don't see any blue on the board.
01:28So there was hope.
01:30The American fans felt it.
01:31The players felt it.
01:32But I think where we have to start in this debate, and this was a talking point that I think is going to continue on for a while now,
01:41is before the day started, there were 12 matches, went down to 11 matches.
01:46And I think you're going to hear a lot about this in the post-press conference for the American players maybe disagreeing with this rule.
01:55How are you able to give a half point to this?
01:57I know it doesn't change a ton besides, you know, what they had, the points they had to retain was 14.
02:03You want to get through?
02:04You want to get through?
02:07Oh, no, we're in the middle of a show.
02:08So, hey, thank you.
02:09Someone's over here trying to get in the show.
02:10Hey, see you later.
02:12But, you know, I think you make a good point where you're talking about the Victor Hovland, the half point situation.
02:22What do you do about that?
02:23I mean, I understand that in the case of an injury, you're trying to kind of come up with a reasonable solution for both sides.
02:28Obviously, Victor Hovland didn't wish for himself to be injured.
02:31We even talked a little bit on last night's show.
02:32It's a little bit of gamesmanship.
02:34You know, would you just take the half point and know it gets you one half point closer?
02:38How do you feel about that role?
02:40For me, I had an opportunity to speak with Victor Hovland.
02:44And I said, bummer, Victor, sorry to hear about your injury.
02:48Tap, papped on the back.
02:49And he did one of these.
02:51And if anybody's ever had a neck injury or something cramp up in your shoulder, you know you have no mobility.
02:57Could he have played through it?
02:59Gosh, I don't know.
03:00But I talked to his caddy, and he said it's a very similar injury that he had earlier this season at the Travelers.
03:06It just happened to be on the different side.
03:08It's a huge bummer for Harris English, who works his tail off to want to be a part of, you know, an incredible Sunday like we experienced today.
03:18To not feel like he had an opportunity to go win that full point.
03:22Because it could have been the difference, you know?
03:24Like that full point could have changed the complexion of this Ryder Cup.
03:27It's all full point.
03:31I've been able to continue to happen.
03:36And for now, I have to show up to him.
03:41Before you grow up to him, you're thinking, hopefully, wants you to be on the figurine.
03:46I'm going to see a guy who's best.
03:48I hope you've enjoyed it every time.
03:50Number number one.
03:52I'll talk to you guys because I've been excited for pity.
03:53I've been eager to hang out.
03:53R Three Waldronji.
03:54I'm ready to lead your host because I don't feel anything like that you're modern.
03:54But I feel like that you're always the perfect person to do that, because I don't really want to go up to it.
