00:00Denmark has banned all civilian drone flights after drones were again observed at several military facilities over the weekend.
00:09At least four people were killed after a gunman opened fire inside a Michigan church on Sunday before setting the building on fire.
00:20Denmark has banned all civilian drone flights after drones were again observed at several military facilities over the weekend.
00:29The Danish Transportation Ministry said the ban is aimed at removing the risk that enemy drones are confused with legal ones and vice versa.
00:39On Sunday, Denmark's Defense Ministry reported new drone sightings, a day after it had several capacities deployed following separate sightings on Saturday.
00:49Danish Transportation Minister Thomas Danielson said that security will be a main focus during the upcoming European summit in Copenhagen.
00:58Tensions have been running high in Denmark following multiple reports of drone sightings last week that temporarily forced Danish airports to shut down.
01:07While it's not clear who was behind the drone activity, Denmark's Prime Minister and NATO Secretary General said last week that Russian involvement couldn't be ruled out.
01:18A gunman opened fire inside a Michigan church on Sunday before apparently setting the building on fire, killing at least four people and injuring eight others, U.S. authorities said.
01:33The suspect, a 40-year-old male, was then fatally shot by police, they added.
01:40The attack in Grand Blanc on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormon Church, occurred while hundreds of people were attending a Sunday service.
01:50Police said they did not yet have a motive for the arson and shooting attack, but said investigators were searching the suspect's residence in nearby Burton.
02:01Two bodies were found during a search of the debris, and authorities said more victims could be found as searches made their way through the entire church.
02:09U.S. President Donald Trump condemned the shooting, calling it horrendous.
02:14Trump said the FBI will be leading the federal investigation.
02:18An American citizen held by the Taliban is finally heading home.
02:24Qatari mediators secured the release of Amir Amiri from Afghan prison, the fifth U.S. citizen to be freed this year.
02:32Amiri, seen here in blue, is believed to have been detained since December 2024, though the reason remains unclear.
02:39Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says its mediation efforts are aimed at finding peaceful solutions to conflicts and disputes worldwide.
02:47The release comes less than two weeks after Qatar helped free a British couple jailed for several months in Afghanistan.
02:53U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Amiri's release marks an important step forward, but added that several more Americans still remain unjustly detained in Afghanistan.
03:03He also thanked Qatari diplomats for what he calls their tireless efforts in securing Amiri's release.

03:13This is an example of the Finnish comprehensive security model.
03:16It's one of 50,000 underground bedrock shelters all across Finland.
03:20This one here in the centre of Helsinki is 20 metres underground.
03:24It has strong bomb blast protection and at its peak can hold 6,000 people,
03:29but it means that each person would have less than one metre squared each in a time of war.
03:35Now the idea is that this would only be triggered, people would only come to these shelters if there is war,
03:40if there is bombs raining from the sky, as one government official said to me.
03:43They've never been used, but the feeling is that Finland has always had to protect itself from its neighbours,
03:49in particular Russia, because Finland has the largest border with Russia within NATO territory over 1,300 kilometres.
03:57So they hope that they'll never have to use them, but they are here for each citizen and then some.
04:06FIFA has officially announced that Qatar will once again host the final three matches of the Intercontinental Cup,
04:11marking the second consecutive year for this event in the country.
04:15The matches are scheduled to take place in December 2025.
04:18This year's Intercontinental Cup offers Qatar an exciting opportunity to showcase its football talent on home soil
04:26and highlight its capabilities as a host nation.
04:29Let's unite the world once again in beautiful Qatar.
04:34Paris Saint Germain, the reigning Champions League winners, will compete in the final on December 17th
04:41against the winner of the Challenger Cup, which features Egyptian club Pyramids FC,
04:47going head-to-head with either Cruz Azul from Mexico or the champion of the Copa Libertadores.

04:59NATO and its allies want to bring defence tech companies to the battlefield, at least for training.
05:06At NATO's annual exercise, RETMAS in Portugal, they're testing maritime unmanned systems, including drones.
05:13This year, 24 countries are participating, and for the first time, Ukraine's navy is involved.
05:20For the past three weeks, allies have split into red and blue teams to carry out missions against each other.
05:27Ukraine's been on the red team.
05:29One of the important things here we have during this exercise is the first expression of the Ukrainian navy.
05:34That's the kids' party to know how they work and how they use their systems and how they use their...
05:39Because they do it in a very simple way.
05:43We have systems much more complex, much more expressive than they use, and they are very efficient.
05:50Another novelty this year is daily jamming trials to test drones in combat-like environments.
05:56There's also a free tech zone, a 2,600 square kilometre area where companies, academics and the military can freely experiment.
06:05This is included in nuclear submarine, drones and mine detectors to protect subsea cables.
06:12Germany's Rheinmetall is displaying its HERO system, a kamikaze drone.
06:17We can launch from 60 kilometres away and be far away from the target, but it's no harm's way to the school journey.
06:24I charge for the drone.
06:26Meanwhile, the French company AKHEROS has been carrying out missions almost every day.
06:31Their plug-in technology can be applied to drones, which then uses AI to analyse what is happening on the ground.
06:38It's nearly impossible to jam.
06:41As everybody knows, the war in Ukraine has changed everything.
06:44We are now entering a paradigm of asymmetric warfare everywhere, so the little drones,
06:51could be like ground drones or naval drones or UAVs, are very critical in this kind of warfare,
06:57and they embed more and more AI.
06:59And so what we are witnessing here is the change of this paradigm with a new warfare,
07:06which is made of very agile and very fast.
07:09Back at the base, the red and blue teams analyse what's going on in real time.
07:13It's here where decisions are made.
07:15To have the command and control, and to have the video, the real position of the units,
07:23it's a different way to fight.
07:25So, right now, with the digital tasking, I can task and retask the assets in flight.
07:33I can assign different areas.
07:35I can see what is happening in the theatre.
07:39So, as you can see, for command and control, it's improving a lot.
07:47He wouldn't declare a winner, but said Ukraine's providing valuable lessons
