00:00Vince, how are you doing right now?
00:03Obviously, even just today has been, I'm sure, whiplash for you, let alone 82 days of it.
00:08Are you doing okay?
00:10Yeah, no, I'm good.
00:11I mean, it was a dream of mine to play Big Brother, and I got to do it.
00:15So it's funny, near the end of the last few days, I was, like, getting more sad.
00:19I was like, I don't want this to end.
00:20I don't want this to end.
00:21I don't want to leave the house.
00:22It's like it became your safe space.
00:24So I'm good.
00:26It's, you know, I got the full experience, and that's all I hoped for.
00:28Well, let's talk about how that full experience ended.
00:32You know, I wouldn't say you were necessarily, like, devastated when you found out that Morgan
00:37was going, knowing that you were going to the final two against Ashley.
00:40What did you think your chances were going in, and did those expectations change as the
00:45jury questions and responses went along?
00:47Yeah, I mean, obviously, all I know is my own game and my own perception of my game, and
00:52I didn't know anything that the jury was thinking.
00:54I didn't know Ashley's game because we hadn't worked super close throughout the season.
00:57I knew Morgan's game.
00:59Morgan played an unbelievably good game.
01:02I mean, she was a front-runner to win this thing all the way through.
01:05Incredible.
01:06So I felt like I would have lost against Morgan.
01:09I thought I had better odds against Ashley just because I didn't know her game as well.
01:13But as soon as she started speaking, and she speaks so well, and I saw the jury reactions,
01:19I started to think, yep, I think my dream management might have shot myself in the foot with this
01:26one.
01:26So here goes nothing.
01:28Were there any votes that surprised you one way or the other at the end of the day?
01:31I was kind of surprised Lauren didn't give me a vote, but I think because I put her on
01:36the block, she was probably pretty upset about that.
01:38So I don't blame her.
01:39So you found out a little bit from Ashley that Morgan had told her that she would have
01:45taken her to the final two had she won.
01:47Morgan did confirm this to Julie after she was evicted.
01:51What's your reaction to that?
01:52Because I know that, you know, you were certainly kind of preparing for the worst-case scenario,
01:55even though she hadn't necessarily told you.
01:58So what are your thoughts about that?
01:59And would you have voted for her if she evicted you?
02:01Wait, so Morgan was planning on taking Ashley.
02:04Yeah, I figured I never got confirmation, but I would have still voted for Morgan for
02:09sure.
02:10I know she had to do what was best for her game, and I know what this game meant to
02:13her too.
02:13So you know what?
02:15If I'm the one saying all's fair in the Big Brother house, then if somebody does it
02:18to me, who am I to complain about it?
02:20Well, let's talk a bit more about your game because there was so much to it, Vince.
02:25And I mean, I want to speak to one of the perceptions that the jury had, and I would say some of the
02:30fandom had as well, which was it did feel like sometimes, you know, you would
02:34utilize your emotions to be able to get people to do what you want.
02:39And that was something that you denied, of course, in the jury speech.
02:42And are you still denying?
02:43And now do you feel like you didn't necessarily utilize your emotions in the game to that
02:46ability?
02:48No, I mean, it's a reality.
02:49I didn't think I was going to be that emotional going into it, but I felt strongly.
02:52And when I spoke passionately, I don't know.
02:54I can't fake cry.
02:55I can't make those up.
02:56I can't create that and fabricate that.
02:58So when I spoke, I was just speaking passionately.
03:00And I don't know, I didn't know the perception of that.
03:04But I mean, I just played the best game I could.
03:07And that's some tears happened to have fallen from my eyes, I guess.
03:11Well, one of the things that you did say in the heat of the moment consistently was, you
03:15know, you felt that Ashley didn't deserve to be there, that you felt like, you know,
03:18you had done more than her.
03:20So talk to me a bit more about that mentality.
03:22And how did it feel then ultimately to find out all the stuff that she was doing in the final
03:26two?
03:26I mean, she played a way better game than I was aware of.
03:28And that's my hat off to her, because that was a very under the radar game.
03:32I was unaware of what she did.
03:34So all I have is my perception of what I thought she had done up to that point.
03:38I had no idea the social aspects of her game.
03:41So when she started talking, I became a fan of her.
03:44And I was looking at her.
03:44I was like, yeah, all right, fair enough.
03:47Well, you talked in your preseason interview about how your strategy going in was wing it,
03:51then adapt, wing, adapt, wing, adapt.
03:53And for what it's worth, you pulled that off.
03:56Did you ever think about possibly deviating from that, especially knowing that there seemed
04:01to be multiple times where people would come to you, right, being like, why did you just
04:05cast that vote to evict?
04:06And it was consistent damage control week after week.
04:09Yeah, yeah.
04:09I did not expect my social game to revolve around damage control.
04:14The winging it and then adapting seemed to have worked, I guess, to a second place finish.
04:21I wish I had, when you're living it and you're in it, it's so hard to, like, get a grasp
04:27on things sometimes.
04:28Like, the game moves so fast and then worst case scenario happens.
04:31You're like, well, the blockbuster is here and there's three nominees, so you don't know
04:34who's going to be on the block or not.
04:35And you want to tell them this.
04:37And it just catches up to you.
04:38It's a very tough, tough game to navigate.
04:41Did you ever think about maybe trying to course correct, considering all the alliances you
04:46had to try to winnow it down, considering that, you know, as you sort of mentioned, it's
04:49this idea where if you're an ally to everyone, you're kind of an ally to no one.
04:53Yeah, I definitely thought about it.
04:56I'm not sure I knew how to go about it.
04:59But clearly, yeah, in hindsight, probably should have adapted in a more productive way.
05:07Well, let's get into some of these relationships, and we'll start with one of your number ones
05:12in the form of Lauren.
05:14So I'm curious, you know, what was ultimately the argument that had you deciding to put
05:19her up?
05:20And also, if you had gone down to the final three with her and Morgan like you had wanted,
05:24would you have taken her to final two over Morgan?
05:27That's such a crazy, that's a great question.
05:31Lauren, I'm sorry, what was the first half of that question?
05:35What ultimately made you decide to put Lauren up?
05:38Oh, that's right, that's right.
05:39So it's funny, because it ended up having the opposite effect, because I was thinking
05:42jury management, the judges' alliance.
05:44Rachel's in the jury, Will's in the jury.
05:47I didn't know if Ashley or Morgan would end up in the jury, and those are three people
05:50who would want me to honor an alliance.
05:52Whereas Lauren, I thought, if I could guarantee the votes to make sure she stays, she touches
05:57the block, we make the house happy, she's not having this perfect season, and then she'll
06:02forgive me, hopefully, and we can move forward from there, as long as I guarantee she's safe.
06:07I thought that that was a fair play, but it, yeah, I just felt bad about it.
06:13That's one of my biggest, I feel really bad about that one, that move.
06:19I never, ever would have wanted to do that to her, and to this day, I'm like, dang.
06:23Yeah, I'm not letting you off the hook, though, on that second part.
06:25If you had gone to the final three with Morgan and Lauren, who would you have taken to the
06:28final two?
06:29Oh, that's a great question, and I think this was my problem here.
06:32I would hope for things, or set myself up for things, and assume it would never actually
06:36happen.
06:37But then scenarios did happen, over and over and over, and I would have to make these
06:41public decisions, where people would know what I did.
06:43So what would I do?
06:45I really think it would be a game-time decision.
06:47I don't know.
06:48I think Morgan had my back more proactively, and as the game went on, I saw how much Morgan
06:55actually cared about me as an ally, and so I like to think Morgan would have been my
07:02go-to, but Lauren was a great ally, too, and she was a very strong competitor.
07:07So game-time decision, I don't know if that's a cheap out, but I'm telling you, I was winging
07:12it and adapting, so that was another scenario where I was just going to wing it.
07:15I don't know.
07:16Well, let's get into the Morgan of it all, because it does seem, especially after Zach
07:20left, you two grew closer, both strategically and personally.
07:24Talk to me more about your relationship, and, you know, the complications that were certainly
07:28involved during all those, you know, sleepless nights in the second half of the game.
07:32Yeah, I mean, she has strong opinions.
07:35I had strong opinions about the game, especially about using the veto and the Lauren nomination.
07:39I didn't want her to use it, so I feel like our communication was good.
07:44We were still strong allies one way or the other, and I enjoyed playing the game with her
07:48because she was a very strong competitor, she was a very loyal ally, and she was somebody
07:52who would have your back no matter what.
07:54So I'm happy to have played with her.
07:57She's an awesome person, and yeah, I think she played an incredible game.
08:02I know you had a lot of trepidation in the moment about the way your relationship with Morgan
08:07was perceived.
08:09Do you have any sort of expectations or anticipation of what the, you know, outside world is going
08:16to look like when you step back into the real world?
08:18Uh, I'm not sure.
08:19I mean, I guess it's tough because it's a unique environment, and nobody knows the platonic
08:24relationship between Morgan and I outside of us two.
08:27Nobody knows the relationship romantically between my girlfriend and I outside of the
08:32game.
08:32Um, but I know my girlfriend and I, I know the boundaries we set before I entered the house,
08:38and I lived, uh, you know, I lived a big brother dream, and, um, yeah, not too worried
08:43about about any of that stuff.
08:45I want to finish by talking about, you know, during these moments of emotionality, as you
08:49mentioned, there were a lot of moments, Vince, where you did a lot of, like, I don't know,
08:54self-deprecation, right?
08:55You would say things like, okay, this is why I'm such a screw-up.
08:58This always happens to me.
09:00I think you said something along the lines of, like, what value do I bring to people's
09:03lives?
09:03I mean, I'm really curious, because those were incredibly, you know, personal moments.
09:08Do you feel like, you know, you played to the spirit of who you are as a person, and
09:13does your performance then reflect upon that?
09:16No, I mean, I didn't use any personal stories or any self-deprecation as strategy.
09:20Um, it's crazy, because you're living with these people, and you're going to open up,
09:24and I'm a pretty private person, typically, and I'm an introverted person.
09:28So, being in that environment, and you have nothing else to talk about or do other than
09:31open up to each other, um, yeah, maybe I'm hard on myself sometimes.
09:35I think that's, uh, something I've been working on a lot as I, as I grow as a person, and it's
09:40an ongoing process, you know?
09:42I, I love myself.
09:43I, I don't hate myself.
09:44I, I just am hard on myself.
09:46No, that, that, I think, means a lot, just because, again, and no one wants to necessarily
09:51see anyone suffer in The Big Brother House.
09:53And, and to your point, like, you succeeded a good amount, uh, and you certainly made a lot
09:58of, you know, fantastic TV and fantastic moments for us all with the Wing and Adapt and Wing
10:02and Adapt, so thank you for winging it with me today, Vince.
10:04I know, obviously, this has been a whirlwind experience, to say the least, let alone, you
10:09know, everything you're going to jump into when it comes to getting back into the real
10:11world, but I really appreciate you stopping down and being so open and candid with me about
10:15everything.
10:15Of course, man, anytime.
10:16All right, well, all the best to you and yours.
10:18Have a great night.
10:19Thanks so much again, Vince.
10:20Take care.
10:21Bye-bye.
