00:00Hey everybody, before we get into my interview with Jimmy, I just want to give you a heads up
00:04that during the word association part of this interview, which happens in the last couple
00:09minutes, I do reveal the identity of the new head of household. So if you don't wish to know who
00:16the next HOH is before Sunday's episode, feel free to stop watching once I start getting into
00:23the word association. Otherwise, enjoy the interview. So Jimmy, suffice it to say you
00:29were never one to mince words in the house. And, you know, in the few days after your blindside
00:35where you're nominated, there was definitely some ideas you were floating out as to, okay,
00:38on the way out, do I call out Vince and Zach and Morgan? Do I say sit down, you fake fucks?
00:44And then you end up going, you know, the classy route with the exit line and the tossing the
00:48sunglasses. So what made you ultimately decide to not call things out on your way out the door?
00:54Yeah. Well, Mike, I got to plant seeds before I left, letting people know they shouldn't trust
00:58Morgan, letting people know if they let Vince keep playing this game the way he's playing it,
01:02there's a chance he may run away with it. And that Zach is their little puppy. They're kind
01:06of dragging along on a leash reluctantly, not really wanting to go on the walk. You know what
01:09I'm saying? So I think I planted enough seeds to go out in a way that, as Rachel Riley always says,
01:15go out classy, not sassy. And so I really wanted to do that because for a second, I was getting ready
01:19to stand up and tell everybody to sit down because I had a little lecture to give them on my way out.
01:24But at the end of the day, I knew they were expecting fireworks. And the last thing I want to give
01:27this cast is something, is what they're expecting. Because at the end of the day,
01:30this show is expect the unexpected. So if they're expecting fireworks, I'm going to give them a
01:34classy exit. I'll toss them something to remember me by, and I'll head right out to talk to Julie.
01:39Because that's at the end of the day who I wanted to talk to.
01:41Well, you talked about expect the unexpected. You got a major dose of that on night one,
01:45when Rachel Riley comes sauntering down the stairs in one of the few outfits you do not criticize
01:49on her. But you know, you are definitely one of the most vocal in the diary room about like,
01:53she's had her chance. She's actually had two chances. Let's get her out. And it is night and
01:58day compared to, you know, her being one of two people you hug on the way out. So talk to me about
02:03how that expectation changed. Did it come down to just getting to know her as a person?
02:08Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, I think we know this to know Rachel Riley is to love Rachel
02:12Riley. And of course, I wanted her out when she walked in. This is a cast of newbies. And Rachel's
02:16done this before, not once, but twice. And she's wanted already. Why are you here, Rachel? Go home.
02:21But then you learn and start meeting who Rachel is and seeing the badass mom she is, the kickass
02:28friend she is. She's always there for people in their time of need. And as I think we've seen is
02:32a solid ride or die, not just as a person, but as a game player. I also think she was an underutilized
02:38resource. I think a lot of this cast overlooks her expertise and skill. I mean, she's been in the
02:44ring for a while. She's done the game already. And again, she's won it before. And I think
02:49leveraging that experience to help better your game while you're playing it is something I probably
02:54could have done better. But I know the rest of the cast is sleeping on. So I can definitely say
02:58Rachel and I have had a certain arc in our friendship, for sure.
03:01Well, let's go from an enemy to a friend to perhaps a friend to an enemy. Let's talk about
03:07what happened with Mickey and Morgan this week. You get pulled aside mere minutes before the
03:13renomination ceremony that you are going up. And in that moment and subsequent days, she tries to
03:18explain the logic to you as to why you got put up. But give me your reaction to this. How shocked
03:23were you when you found out this would be the case?
03:26Yeah, I was blindsided, to say the least. I really thought I was four for four with not
03:31shaking in my boots this week because I felt like I was either driving HHOH or in the passenger
03:38seat giving directions. Little did I know that when Mickey took over the car, she would have left me at
03:42the rest stop. And I wouldn't realize until I walked out of the bathroom and saw the car missing.
03:46But I was shocked. Mickey and Morgan were my rider guys. And I always say that perception doesn't
03:50define my intention. And their perception of my gameplay certainly didn't define my intention.
03:56At the end of the day, everything I was doing was to prevent Triple Threat from being on the block
03:59together. And while it may not have looked like it to them in the moment, without getting the chance
04:03to defend myself, I don't blame her for making this move. Because when you hear from multiple people
04:08that if I'm going up, they're sending me home, it makes your HHOH a little easier.
04:12And I was under no impression that I was potentially going to stay. I mean,
04:15the last few weeks, the re-nob has gone home. So to think that you could stay just because
04:19you may have the votes or because you have people behind you, don't think so fast. Again,
04:24the second you expect something, it's going to flip right on its head. So I don't quite understand
04:29the move for Mickey's game, but I think she definitely started to build her resume.
04:33She has said subsequently after doing so that this was a faith-based decision on her part.
04:38What's your reaction to that?
04:40Well, Mickey, if you're going to play the game based on faith, then you're going to be
04:43going home very shortly. So we'll get to talk very soon, I think.
04:47Well, I don't know if I'm also revealing this to you, but you know, one of the largest
04:50straws to stir the drink was Keanu. That after he won the veto, he goes up to the HHOH room
04:56with Mickey and Morgan and says, Jimmy, pick me against you. And look, we can certainly talk
05:01about things you did to maybe help stir that along. But what is your reaction to that?
05:05You know what? Did I expect Keanu to hold that to his chest? No. Was I pitting Keanu
05:11against them? No. Keanu was pitting himself against Mickey and Morgan, but I certainly
05:15wasn't dissuaying him from that. If he went from viewing me as a target to viewing somebody
05:19else as a target, that's good for my game for him to think that way. Especially if he
05:23had won HHOH and he had put up somebody like Mickey and Morgan and maybe somebody else like
05:27Ashley. As long as it's not me, I was happy about it. So was I under the impression Keanu
05:33had my back? Absolutely not. Because if I had won HHOH again, his butt would have been
05:37right back on the block.
05:39Well, let's talk about what maybe caused, you know, this reoccurring rivalry at that
05:44first veto ceremony when you decide to make the first of, you know, a few dramatic approaches
05:49to yourself and Keanu in a public manner. Talk to me about this. I mean, you are a big
05:53fan of this game. You know that while these moments can be entertaining, they can sometimes
05:58really make you visible as a presence in the house. So talk to me about your thinking behind
06:02that.
06:03Yeah, well, Mike, I was a presence either way, but I definitely cemented it at that
06:07first veto ceremony. I learned a lot. I've learned a lot about the show just by being
06:12on it. But if I have something to say in any situation, I'm just going to say it. I always
06:17think it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission sometimes. And again, we're not
06:20here to just hide the way we feel, you know? And so I always wanted to express the way I
06:25felt and make sure in some ways I did it in front of the whole house. There's a big game
06:28of snowball and telephone that goes around the house. I think we learned that with Showergate
06:32that things really do get blown out of proportion. So especially with what I had to say to Keanu
06:36that day, I wanted to make sure the whole house heard what I had to say before it got whispered
06:41around and everybody heard a different story. And I think I definitely did that. Should I,
06:46could I have tamped down on the dramatics just a little bit? But if I had done that, I wouldn't
06:49have been true to myself. That's how I act on a night out or at a family dinner. So you guys
06:53definitely got the real Jimmy, that's for sure. Now, when you were HOH, you had two difficult
06:59choices to make once Keanu and Kelly went off the block. You put up Amy, you put up Will. These
07:04were decisions that clearly angered people like Morgan and Mickey who felt like they were not being
07:07consulted. They offered you Riley. You said, oh no, but I have no other choice. So talk to me a bit
07:12about that logic and how do you look back on the decision? Yeah, well, for Morgan and Mickey,
07:16we had an issue building a relationship beyond the beginning stages of the game because to avoid
07:21suspicion, they never wanted to be around me. So we weren't able to develop a relationship as much
07:26as somebody like Rachel and I were. So at the end of the day, when I have HOH and I'm spending a lot
07:30of time with Catherine and Lauren and they pop up to my room to tell me what I should do, I'm probably
07:35going to do the opposite. I don't like being told what to do. And it was, especially with Morgan,
07:39it was always, here's what you should do. It's not, let's flesh it out. With Mickey, we were able to
07:44talk through things a little bit more and I was able to understand her perspective better.
07:47Morgan would come up to my room for all the five minutes, tell me what I had to do and then leave
07:51because she didn't want to look suspicious. And I was never down for the my way or the highway
07:55sort of approach in that instance. And offering Riley up as a suggestion, I don't know if we saw
08:00this, but it happened an hour before the renom ceremony. And I was not about to put somebody up
08:06when I didn't have the ability to lay the groundwork for nominating them. I didn't want anybody to feel
08:10blindsided. And at the end of the day, maybe that's why I got blindsided. All right. Well, to finish
08:15things off, I'm going to give you the name of one of the remaining house guests that are left in there
08:19that you walked out to. You're going to give me the first word or a few words that come to mind
08:24for that person. Quick word association. Let's start with Ashley.
08:29Late.
08:31How about Ava?
08:32Funny.
08:33I don't know if you know this. She's the new head of household, by the way.
08:36Ava?
08:37Yeah.
08:40This is going to get good, y'all.
08:42Yeah, you're going to have some fun stuff to watch this week.
08:45I can't wait.
08:46How about Catherine?
08:48Funny. Beautiful.
08:50Keanu.
08:52Boring.
08:53I do want to ask, actually, while we're briefly stopped down here, we did see from the veto
08:57competition, you know, Keanu tell Ava, I believe you have a prompt, and that caused her to sort of
09:02like pop up. Was there anything else that was said that we didn't get the chance to see that caused,
09:06you know, such a big blow up to happen?
09:09I think you saw it all. Keanu knows the house is against him at this point. I would be surprised if Ava
09:13didn't put him up, because she even told me last week how iconic would it be if I was the HOH to
09:18send him home. So I think he should be worried this week, but I don't, I haven't seen the episode,
09:23but from what I've seen, it probably made it all. Listen, when Ava walked down with that veto and was
09:27swinging it, swinging it next to her hand, we all thought she was about a decade with it. She's from
09:31New York, okay? We didn't put anything past her.
09:34Well, how about your fellow blockmate from last night, Kelly?
09:36Kelly? Um, I love Kelly, but she is an instigator.
09:42Hmm. Lauren?
09:44Um, boring.
09:46Well, now we've got some people you certainly have some words to describe with Mickey.
09:51Um, entertaining. I love Mickey. No, no love lost with Mickey.
09:56Hmm. How about Morgan?
09:58Also love Morgan. Um, I don't love the way she's playing this game, but as a person,
10:02as a people, Morgan and Mickey are some of my favorite people in the house.
10:05How about Rachel?
10:07Oh, icon, queen, legend, mother. Like, Rachel Riley, I do not have enough good things to
10:13say about her, and she's definitely the one person, um, I might have, might have shed a
10:17tear over after leaving the house.
10:18Well, let's go from Rachel Riley to just Riley. What do you have to say about Riley?
10:22Oh, he's a sweetheart.
10:24How about Vince?
10:26Um, conniving.
10:28Will?
10:30Naps.
10:33And finally, Zach.
10:35Um, also boring. Like, I love Zach, and he's funny, but, um, yeah, he's also in the boring
10:42camp for me. Sorry, Zach.
10:44But listen, I'm sure, you know, you're about to experience this when you go out into the public,
10:48but a lot of people had some quite visceral reactions to your departure here, Jimmy. I mean,
10:55we were just as blindsided as you were, and I think, listen, you brought the mess, but we'd like
11:01to appreciate a lot of the mess and the hard gameplay that you brought as well. So I'm so
11:05happy that, you know, you're coming in here with a smiling face, ready to sort of take in everything
11:09that happened. I know that Taylor showed you this, but just as like a nice reminder as to what's
11:14waiting for you on the outside world there. That's, uh, your partner and Brendan mimicking the same
11:18picture you had with Rachel. So again, it was only a month in the house, but it was a month in the
11:24house. Thank you so much for the impact you made on this season. Thank you so much, Mike. I appreciate
11:29it. Of course, all the best to you and yours. Have a great weekend. Thanks so much again, Jimmy.
11:33Thanks, Mike. Take care. Bye-bye.
