00:10This is according to the electoral authority on Sunday.
00:14The two leading candidates, Patrick Hermini and Wavell Remcalowan,
00:19respectively received 48.8% and 46.4%.
00:24A candidate, however, needs more than 50% to win the election.
00:30Hermini represents the United Seychelles party,
00:33which governed the country for decades before losing power in 2020.
00:38Remcalowan is currently president and seeks a second term.
00:42His party has, however, faced growing opposition in recent months.
00:47For now, no date for the second one is known.
