Amid growing tensions with the United States, the Venezuelan government released images of a coastal military exercise carried out by the national armed forces.

The training showcased various systems and vehicles, many of Russian origin, aimed at strengthening defensive capabilities and demonstrating strategic power.

Key Equipment in Action

Among the systems and vehicles observed during the maneuvers were:

SAM S-125M-2M “Pechora-2M” — medium-range air defense system.

BMP-3 & ZBD-05 IFVs — infantry fighting vehicles.

M114 & OTO-Melara Mod 56 howitzers — towed artillery of different calibers.

ZU-23-2 — light anti-aircraft mount for immediate defense against low-altitude targets.

Additional support units and logistical elements were also present, suggesting a comprehensive coastal defense rehearsal integrating anti-aircraft weapons, armored vehicles, and artillery.

Analysts interpreted the exercise as a strategic response to Washington’s hostile rhetoric and the presence of U.S. naval forces in the region. Venezuela has pursued a course of military reinforcement and symbolic demonstrations as part of its deterrence policy, signaling readiness for potential confrontations or external threats.
