Amphibious armored vehicles of the People’s Liberation Army faced strong winds and rough seas during a live-fire assessment conducted in the southern part of Fujian Province.

China’s People’s Liberation Army recently carried out a maritime exercise involving amphibious armored vehicles assigned to a brigade of its ground forces. The activity took place in a coastal area in southern Fujian Province, in eastern China.

Footage released by Chinese military media shows the armored vehicles advancing in formation across the sea while firing at vessels used as targets and at positions established on land. The maneuver simulated a coordinated operation involving approach, encirclement and the neutralization of targets in different environments.

According to China Military, the training was intended to assess the units’ ability to operate in an integrated manner, as well as to evaluate the accuracy of their weapon systems during amphibious operations.
