00:00Simon Peter had always been brash, a man who wore his emotions on his sleeve.
00:08Sometimes that got him into trouble, but sometimes it was a good thing.
00:13After all, it was Peter alone among the twelve disciples who asked Jesus to command him to walk
00:19on the Sea of Galilee. Peter was marked as a man on fire for Jesus, a committed follower,
00:25an ambitious disciple, and a close friend. That's why he took it so hard when Jesus was
00:32arrested and put on trial. Earlier that evening, Peter had pledged to the Lord that he would stay
00:38with him until the end. But in the courtyard of the high priest's home, Peter crumpled like a paper
00:44cup. Three times he was asked if he knew Jesus, and three times he denied it. But just as Jesus'
00:51story didn't end with his death, so too Peter's story didn't end with his denials of the Lord.
00:58Jesus graciously restored Peter, and when the Holy Spirit came upon him at Pentecost,
01:04he was a changed man. Maybe you've given in to fear. Maybe at times you've loved this world more
01:11than you've loved your Savior. The good news is this. Jesus stands ready to restore you so that you,
01:18like Peter, can make much of him again.
