00:00For many of us, there will come a day when the newest fashion trends seem weird, the latest
00:07technology seems more like a hassle than an improvement over what came before, and the music
00:13on the radio appears no longer appealing in the slightest. Some will attribute it to age,
00:18while others will attribute it to wisdom and maturity. Whatever the reason, tastes seem to
00:25change from one generation to the next. All this change can be disorienting, but some things don't
00:31change with the passing years. The values of God's kingdom never budge. This is why, early in Israel's
00:38history, God could command his people to teach his laws and statutes to their children. He even had
00:45Moses write down that instruction so that those children would read it and do the same with the
00:51next generation, and so on. It's an unbroken line passing on God's goodness from fathers and mothers
00:58to their children down through the centuries. The kingdom of God is a community that welcomes all
01:04because its values are everlasting. They don't change with the seasons. As the old hymn says,
01:11On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Jesus and his kingdom are the same
01:19one yesterday, today, and forever.
