More than a dozen maps and radars on free AccuWeather app

With the free AccuWeather app, you can not only monitor local weather forecasts for more than one area, but you also have more than a dozen new maps to monitor rain, lightning and even wind flow.

00:00There are so many tools in the free AccuWeather app to help you to stay

00:07safer and make the best decisions. That's what we do here at AccuWeather and

00:11we'll show you some of those tools on the free AccuWeather app today. When you download

00:15that app, which you could do by scanning the QR code on the screen, when you load up

00:20the app you'll be brought to the home screen here. This is kind of your hub of

00:24different important news stories at the top. You could tap on that and go to any

00:29of those individual news stories and any of the locations that you care about

00:32located here. That can be your current location plus places, for example, where

00:36your parents live, where your kids live, other places around the country that you

00:39care about, where you're traveling to, for example, and they could tap on any of those

00:43tiles and get your latest local AccuWeather forecast on the today screen. Now I

00:48want to show you when you tap on the bottom there and go to radar and maps, that

00:52brings up a dozen or more new maps that we've added into the new AccuWeather

00:57app. And of course, one of the most popular in this particular example here is the radar,

01:01interactive radar. You can see you can pan and zoom anywhere around the country. And

01:05when you press play, you'll go from what has happened through right now and then heading

01:10into the future so you can see the evolution of precipitation and of course zoom in on

01:15any particular area. Look at the top here, many other different layers. You can tap on

01:19the exclusive AccuWeather lightning network and you'll be able to see where lightning is occurring

01:23right now and be able to loop that out. And as you zoom in, you can see where the

01:27lightning strikes are, government advisories on another tab and wind flow as well. And

01:33that allows you to actually see the movement of the air and you can loop that out over time

01:37to see how that's going to evolve. Many map layers to help you to make the best decisions.
