Getting daily and hourly forecasts on the free AccuWeather app

Chief Meteorologist Jon Porter demonstrates how you can access daily and hourly forecasts on the free AccuWeather app. These features also include a radar map that can be monitored for your area.

00:00We've got many great new features in the newly redesigned free AccuWeather app to

00:09help you to stay safer and make the best weather impacted decisions that's what

00:12we do here at AccuWeather and when you download the free app you have so many

00:16details available from hour by hour day by day forecasts and we'll show you some

00:22of those tools here today right on the main screen on the today home screen

00:26sort of like your hub when you download the AccuWeather app and it will load up

00:29with your current location and of course you can tap we're going to go to

00:32Pittsburgh today but you can tap here and type in any zip code or city around the

00:36country around the world for your local AccuWeather forecast with proven

00:39superior accuracy we have our minute cast front and center minute-by-minute weather

00:43for your exact location over the next four hours and then as you scroll down you

00:48have your today and tonight forecast as well as the forecast highlights so here

00:53in Pittsburgh we're talking about the risk for thunderstorms on Thursday so you

00:56can see that's front and center interactive maps and then of course as we

01:00head down to hourly and daily forecasts and of course you can tap on those

01:04interactive maps and get radar and all other types of newly redesigned and

01:08helpful maps I want to go into the day-by-day data down at the bottom and

01:12we've got some great new capabilities here as well first of all you notice now

01:16we have the night icons of forecast icons in here and risk of precipitation at

01:22night no other weather app has that to really make that very easy for you to

01:26see on the day-by-day screen we also have of course the expected high

01:31temperature the risk for rain during the day and what type of weather conditions

01:35we're expecting but we go into far more details you can tap on any day and get

01:40all types of additional data to help you to make the best decisions including

01:44that wording from AccuWeather look at this on Thursday gusty winds and small hail

01:47can accompany any thunderstorm the AccuWeather real feel real feel shade wind and many

01:51other parameters as well
