05:15at Shippey the individual 400 winner Doom's going backwards Van Niekerk has a little bit of a gap and

05:21he's finishing like a steam train what a run by the world record holder McQuaid to Benjamin Kevin at

05:30Shippey and the South Africans with Nene it was inevitable batons would fall it's so wet out there

05:37what a finishing prospect Kevin at Shippey went 10th on the all-time list with his brilliant run in the

05:44final of the 400 Nene is smarting he was the fastest man in the world this year coming into these world

05:51championships Benjamin smashed Varholm and De Santos in the four hurdles can the Botswanans do it no one

06:01no African nation has ever won this title and look at Nene Benjamin's driving for the line what a finish

06:08they're all closing the American might be caught Botswana by a whisker what a race what a week it's been in Tokyo

06:17and for the first time in history it's an African nation on top in pouring rain in atrocious conditions

06:26they have risen like gods what a finish what a relay the Botswana's in the crowd are in tears

06:34and their star men are doing a dance of delight in the rain what a way to seal

06:42the first African gold in the men's 4x4 so often the finish line heroics belong to the Americans

06:50but they were caught on the line an inspired performance by a brilliant quartet USA just

06:58being given second place by thousands of a second and it's a brilliant bronze for South Africa

07:05they haven't been on the podium since 2011 and what a wonderful medal for Wade van Niekerk after

07:11coming back from that horrific injury many would have walked away from the sport the rainbow nation

07:17almost did it they take the bronze USA silver Belgium are stunned they just missed out but what a

07:24performance by the Botswanans that was one of the best 4x4s I've ever seen and they thoroughly

07:31deserved to be the champions of the world wow

07:37I'm trying to get the splits there for the for each of the athletes Kevin Occippi is being credited

07:42with 44 14 a phenomenal run from him in these conditions but Kevin Occippi he almost looked like

07:48he was settling for the silver until the South Africans with Takite Nene came up on his shoulder

07:54and that was enough to have Kevin Occippi the wake-up call to push all the way to the line perhaps he was just

07:59judging it perfectly but there you can see let's see the tobacco 44-04 we knew these men were on for

08:05something special the individual athletes F8 and Dory Kevin Occippi all making the final but

08:11Tabocco looked better than he did yesterday into overhaul Jacori Patterson he's run 43 seconds this

08:18season was some quite something from Tabocco I don't know are they miming how high they had to lift their

08:24knees to get through them through the rain it was almost that state of affairs on the inside lane

08:31there and the Americans did well remember they had the they had lane one throughout this they struggled

08:37in qualification to do that rerun this morning as well so perhaps they had the worst of the conditions

08:43the tightest lane for those first few legs

08:48Rye Benjamin gave it a real go it was 44-04 for Rye Benjamin on his closing leg

08:57the finish of that race was extraordinary Kevin Occippi does it on the lean

09:04and just two thousandths of a second separated silver from bronze I'm so pleased that Wade Van

09:15Niekirk has another global medal after all those years of trying to come back from that horrific knee

09:20injury but tonight in the pouring rain the plaudits belong to the Botswanans I thought they might do it

09:29and I thought in better weather I think they would have gone very close to the
