00:00This Wednesday, the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly continues this Wednesday
00:18with its second day of general debate. With more information on everything that is happening today,
00:22we go live with our correspondent, Jorge Estoso. Welcome, Jorge.
00:25Another historic day here at the United Nations. Today in the morning, the president of Iran
00:36was taking his turn and giving his speech. It was putting emphasis mostly in two issues.
00:44The first one, denouncing vividly the genocide in Gaza and denouncing that the quote-unquote
00:52international community is doing nothing to stop precisely what Israel is doing nonstop
01:00since months and months. And another thing that he mentioned is also his reaction to what they
01:07tried to portray Iran as a threat, as a dangerous country because they are developing nuclear weapons.
01:16He put special emphasis that that is not true, that there is no in the intention of Iran to develop
01:24that type of weapons, and also that most definitely it's a country aiming for peace and aiming for good
01:31relations with the international community. And another thing to mention is the repercussions of what
01:39president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, has said yesterday. At the end of the day, we were hearing all along the
01:47corridors of the United Nations his words very strong because he mentioned that, for example, regarding the
01:55desertification of the United States to Colombia in what is supposed to be the fight against
02:03narcotrafficking and narcotics and drugs. He said that basically what is going on is that the United
02:11States government is getting the information about what is going on in Colombia for the same people
02:19involved in the drugs dealing. So therefore, they want to get rid of Petro and they want to continue to
02:27traffic as they did for many, many years, he mentioned. Also, he said that there is no reason, there is no moral
02:37and legal reason why a country should certify another country. Nobody gives them that right. And of course,
02:45he says that he's going to take actions regarding the next steps. So this morning also, the number two
02:54speaker was the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that also mentioned that the U.S. has
03:02taken another turn and now says, President Trump, he did yesterday here, he said that now it's possible
03:10for Ukraine to regain all the territory that Russia has been taking and also even make sort of an
03:19exclamation mark, he said, and even maybe gain even more. So he emphasizes that President Trump has
03:26changed his position regarding Ukraine. Also, the president of Argentina, Javier Milley, is in the
03:36schedule for this day. And throughout the day, we're going to be sharing with you the highlights of
03:42what's going on in this second day at the United Nations. We get back to you now.
