00:00As we go live now to our correspondent in the U.S., Jorge Estos, in the context of the high-level international conference on Palestine held at the United Nations. Hi, Estos.
00:11Here in New York, his third day, at the beginning of the 80th annual Assembly General of the United Nations.
00:21Why? France has officially recognized the state of Palestine together with other countries like they did the day before.
00:32We're talking about the United Kingdom, Canada. We are talking Australia. We're talking Portugal.
00:39And as of today, 152 countries of the world out of the 193 members of the U.N. has already recognized the state of Palestine.
00:54So that is going to be a key subject throughout the whole debate.
01:00The general debate starts tomorrow here at the United Nations throughout the week.
01:06So what is going to be the peace in the Middle East is going to be a very, very substantive subject.
01:14There's already been reaction of countries like the United States and Israel, of course,
01:22being saying all type of things that they are not really very pleased with the way that more and more Israel
01:31is getting absolutely isolated and separated from the rest of the world is getting absolutely isolated and separated from the rest of the world.
01:37The subject, better together, the subject of this conference.
01:42Better together because the Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, of the United Nations,
01:50says that they want to put special emphasis in multilateralism.
01:55They say that the world needs to work as one in order to face, to tackle the global conflicts and the global violence that is going on.
02:06We're talking then the Middle East, but we're talking Ukraine and other conflicts of the world.
02:11The conference also is going to address an issue that they believe that is very important.
02:16And we're talking climate change and environment and mostly all the countries of Latin America except Panama has recognized the state of Israel
02:28as the right to become a member of the world and leave all the aggression and isolation coming from Israel.
02:38So it's going to be very interesting tomorrow morning, officially, when it starts the general debate.
02:45The tradition is the first country to talk.
02:48It's going to be Brazil, as usual, followed by the United States.
02:52So President Lula will be addressing opening the ceremony and then President Donald Trump is going to be coming here to address the General Assembly.
03:04We get back to you now.
