During a press briefing on Tuesday, Palestinian Ambassador to the UN, Riyad Mansour was asked about a UN conference on a two-state solution.
Transcript
00:00I'll say no to you.
00:01One question.
00:03During the high-level conference of the Two-State Solution,
00:07France and Saudi Arabia asked all countries to sign the declaration going to their mission.
00:14I would like to know if you have any count on that,
00:17and what can we expect for the General Assembly?
00:21You're asking the wrong person.
00:22You have to ask France and Saudi Arabia.
00:25But in my speech in the Security Council yesterday,
00:29I mean, Sunday, and we say it in front of everyone.
00:33We urge everyone, those who have not sent messages to France and to Saudi Arabia,
00:40declaring that they are joining and approving the declaration and the annex to do so.
00:46I think that by September, we hope that we will be having more than 100 additional countries
00:53than the maybe 30 or 40 that have signed this declaration so far.
01:01We need to make that the blueprint of the global consensus of the international community
01:08on the alternative plan.
01:10It is not our destiny.
01:11It is not the destiny of the Palestinian people to have an eternal conflict with Israel
01:17and to keep losing thousands of our children and women and our people
01:23in the hand of this war machine by Israel.
01:27It is our duty to convince everyone that there is another alternative,
01:32the alternative of immediate ceasefire.
01:35As we see the millions, the hundreds of millions in all capitals are saying
01:40they want to save the lives of the Palestinian people, ceasefire now.
01:45That's their cry.
01:47And the leaders who are not yet convinced of that message should listen to everyone.
01:55We should stop the fighting.
01:57We should stop the killing of the Palestinian people
01:59and then get to the business of ending this illegal occupation
02:03and allow the Palestinian people to enjoy freedom and dignity
02:07in their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
02:11It's not easy.
02:12It is difficult.
02:13But that is the correct path.
02:15That is the moral path.
02:17That is the legal path.
02:18And we need everyone to contribute in their own way, including journalists.
02:24As my brother, you know, Tariq said, as you tell us what we are doing,
02:31and that is a legitimate question you ask us,
02:34we are also telling you, tell the story of the Palestinian people.
02:37Tell about the crimes in which more than 270 journalists were killed
02:43trying to tell the story of our people in the Gaza Strip.
02:47And more than 400 individuals from humanitarians, brave ones,
02:53most of them from UNRWA, who gave their lives trying to distribute humanitarian assistance
03:01to Palestinians who are in need, especially children of these humanitarian assistance.
03:07We all need to do our share of fighting for justice for the Palestinian people
03:13and fighting against this criminal genocidal regime in Israel
03:18who thinks that they can eliminate the Palestinian people.
03:22There is no force on earth that can eliminate the Palestinian people.
03:27And we are entrenched to our land, and we will put, with the help of everyone,
03:33an end to this tragedy and enjoy freedom and dignity
03:37when we exercise our right to self-determination.
03:40Again, I thank you very much for being with us today,
03:43and I want to thank my colleagues, the OIC, the Arab Group,
03:47the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian people,
03:51and we will meet with you as often as needed.
