Six candidates have registered in the race for the Kuomintang's chair position. They include KMT lawmaker and caucus secretary-general Luo Chih-chiang, as well as former Taipei mayor Hau Lung-pin. Whoever wins is expected to lead the party through next year's local elections and the 2028 presidential race.
