The opposition Kuomintang and Taiwan People's Party have issued their first joint nomination for this November's local elections. They'll be backing Chang Chi-kai of the TPP for Chiayi mayor. It's one of several planned alliances between the opposition parties, including joint nominees for New Taipei mayor and Yilan County chief.
