00:00Left off, talking about the dominating home win for Miami over USF.
00:05Carson Beck with a solid performance coach.
00:08In the rain, he throws for 340 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions.
00:14Miami averages well over four yards per carry and wins the matchup by 37 points.
00:20They laid 17 and a half in that ballgame.
00:23You know, offense of line has been playing lights out.
00:27Carson Beck hasn't been pressured for a majority of the year.
00:30Big picture, this offensive line is really carrying this team.
00:34And if that secondary could step up and be opportunistic, they might not only win the ACC,
00:40but they're a contender now to potentially win a national championship.
00:45Yeah, I mean, right now what I'm seeing is they're distancing themselves from the other teams in the ACC
00:51for that number one position.
00:52That's where they are now.
00:54And they're not the same football team they were last year.
00:57I'll have to admit, and you too, I couldn't wait to watch them last year
01:00because how is Cam Ward going to pull them out of a mess?
01:03Defense have got them in a mess.
01:04They lost a big lead.
01:06They fell behind.
01:08Cam Ward's got it.
01:08This team has methodically run the football, bounced offense to the line,
01:13can block well and pass protect.
01:16Defense is playing tough.
01:17Even in this past game, they were up 28-6 with about nine minutes left in the third quarter.
01:22And South Florida goes down to the nine-yard line.
01:26They stop them on a fourth and three.
01:28Then they go 91 yards in six plays and ice the game away with just great, solid football.
01:34This is a Miami team.
01:36And again, I should know, watching my father at Florida State playing against the great Miami teams
01:41way back in the 80s and 90s.
01:43This team is solid all across the board.
01:46They're playing like a very mature, at least a championship-caliber team.
01:52So you don't see many weaknesses right now in Miami.
01:56And the quarterback, he is playing lights out as far as solid football.
02:00You talk about how dominant that offensive line was.
02:03Miami rushed for 5.4 yards per carry.
02:07Mark Fletcher with 120 yards on the ground.
02:11Two big plays and touchdowns for the Hurricanes.
02:14You saw, again, Malachi Tony, the speedster, step up six receptions for 66 yards.
02:20And the one thing I think about Carson Beck as well, he's starting to distribute the football
02:24to an array of wide receivers, right?
02:28That's a good, positive entering conference play because it shows that Carson Beck has a
02:33good handle on the offense.
02:35He's not locked into one target or one main wide receiver.
02:39And that's what you want to see as you go up against better top 10 defenses the rest of the regular season.
02:45Well, and you talk about for the veteran quarterbacks, the game slows down.
02:51I mean, he's out there, and I bet you it looks in slow motion because he's been there, done that.
02:57He's seen everything.
02:58He just seems so relaxed back in that pocket and running that offense because he came out.
03:04His record as a one-loss record is pretty incredible, but he faced so many tough, tough games at Georgia.
03:10He comes in there fully prepared to play championship football.
03:15So right now, can't say enough against Miami.
03:18They still have some big games down the road, too.
03:20They've got some games against some really good football teams.
03:23And so right now, though, as far as doing everything you've had to do to be where you are,
03:29they've knocked off Notre Dame.
03:31They did that USF top 25.
03:33They'll get a few more down the road.
03:35I think it starts with Florida.
03:36We'll talk about that later.
03:37But they'll have some big games down the road.
