The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has unveiled a new logo, marking both a refreshed image and a renewed corporate culture after its merger with Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM).

In his speech on Wednesday (Sept 17), Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the rebrand represents CAAM’s commitment to excellence, efficiency, and international best practices while preparing for future aviation growth, including the low-altitude drone economy.

He stressed that the Transport Ministry will back CAAM in streamlining operations, provided safety remains a priority.

00:00Three, two, one!
00:09Ladies and gentlemen, this new corporate identity
00:12is not just a new look for Canada,
00:15but it's a new promise
00:18that Malaysia's skies will remain safe,
00:21our aviation sector resilient
00:23and our future in global aviation secure.
00:27A new identity, a new look.
00:30But what is more important is a new culture,
00:34a culture of excellence, a culture of efficiency.
00:39That is something that I look forward to the new CAM
00:42under the leadership of our chairman and our CEO.
00:48I wish CAM to become an efficient organisation,
00:54one that it will cut down red tapes and bureaucracy.
00:58I know aviation is a very regulated industry,
01:01full of regulations, thousands of regulations,
01:05many processes, but I think it is a responsibility
01:09of the new board and the new management
01:12to look at how we can make it more efficient,
01:17to cut down the process, to simplify the regulations.
01:22I'm not saying that you totally do away with regulations,
01:25that is impossible, because we are in a very regulated industry.
01:30We have an obligation to our international standard
01:33under IKOs, a lot of obligations,
01:36a lot of regulations that we have to comply with.
01:40Definitely we have to comply with that.
01:42But what we can do is to simplify those regulations and process.
01:46Look at each particular regulation,
01:49how we can do better without compromising safety.
01:52I think that is the most important criteria.
01:55Safety is always our most important aspect and consideration.
02:01So, this will be the task and the mission of both the board
02:08and as well as the management.
02:10I do not want to hear the reason that
02:14because those are the things under the Act.
02:17If anything related to the Act which makes your regulation not so efficient
02:24or make it a lot of retail or bureaucracy,
02:29bring it to the Ministry.
02:31An Act of Parliament is not cast in stone.
02:34An Act of Parliament can be amended at any times.
02:38So, if the reason is anything related to the Act of CAM,
02:45bring it to me, bring it to the Ministry.
02:48I am committed and the Ministry of Transport is committed
02:51to simplify and help CAM to make our regulator more efficient.
02:57I think that is the message that I want to send today.
03:01Together with all the stakeholders,
03:03we must look at how to make our environment better and more efficient.
03:11Simplifying processes and regulations is one of the key tasks that we must do.
03:18Because we must make our environment more business friendly.
03:24We must make it more adaptable.
03:27There are a lot of new changes in the aviation sector.
03:30Aviation drives economic growth.
03:33And we must look at our stakeholders as our partners.
03:37That is not just someone that is being regulated.
03:42Of course, they must be regulated.
03:44But they are also our partners in driving the aviation development.
03:49So, this is the new culture that we must adopt in CAM.
03:56I know that previously a lot of people did not go to CAM.
03:59These are very tough regulators.
04:02Airlines, ground handlers.
04:04A lot of people, they are not engaged.
04:06The CEO of CAM.
04:08Captain Zamo.
04:11Banyak karat lah.
04:14This is too much.
04:16Huh?
04:17They want to regulate it.
04:19But I think the new culture and the new environment that we want is that
04:24we must work together.
04:26We must cooperate.
04:28No one knows best.
04:30Not even the regulator.
04:32Everyone must work together.
04:34Because we are in a new environment.
04:35A lot of new challenges.
04:37A lot of new technologies.
04:40No one has a monopoly of knowledge.
04:43So, let's work together.
04:46Make our environment better.
04:48Make the industry more competitive.
04:50And we are here to facilitate.
04:53The government is here to facilitate.
04:55And as Minister, I am committed to bring the changes for the betterment of the country.
05:06This is the message that I want to send.
05:08It's not just unveiling a new logo.
05:10But a new sense of hope that things can be better.
05:16We must aspire to be the best.
05:22Not the second best.
05:25It's enough for us to be the second best in the region.
05:28We must aspire to be the best.
05:31And CAM should facilitate this both.
05:36And what's more right now, what we are unveiling today is not just a new corporate identity.
05:44But a new structure.
05:46An enlarged CAM.
05:48It took years to complete the process.
05:51To merge the two regulators.
05:55NAVCOM and CAM.
05:57And right now, we have one single regulator.
06:02Everything under a single window.
06:05Both technical and economics.
06:18I think with a coin, I need to need to.
06:42In the中 of the car.
