Malaysia Airlines needs to provide monthly reports to CAAM, says Loke

Transport Minister Anthony Loke told a press conference on Wednesday (Aug 28) that Malaysia Airlines will have to provide monthly reports on its mitigation plans to the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM).  Following a recent spate of technical issues plaguing the national carrier, Loke said the renewal period of the airline's Air Operator Certificate will be reduced from three years to annually. 00:00The MAB has been instructed to issue a monthly report on the status of the implementation of the MAB mitigation plan to the CAM.

00:18Based on the CAM's current audit on the MAB,

00:23the timing of the A-Operator Certificate will be reduced from 3 years to 1 year,

00:33which will come from 1st September 2024 to 31st August 2025.

00:40Among the certification issues related to several MAB aircraft technical incidents

00:45is the possibility of mechanical components problems

00:49and the lack of skilled workers needed to carry out flight operations

00:55and increase the level of efficiency of the quality management system

00:59and the safety management system by the MAB and MAB Engineering Services.

01:09Malaysia Airlines Bahad, MAB has provided a mitigation plan among others

01:15to increase the level of aircraft safety to the level of efficiency

01:20to allow the focus to be given on reliability of the aircraft.

01:262. Implement programs to recruit skilled workers aggressively.

01:313. Reduce the scope of MAO maintenance, repair and repair services to the third party

01:37and focus on the MAB aircraft MAO work.
