00:00The beam in the eye of a man

00:07Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye

00:13but do not notice the beam in your own?

00:18Matthew 7.3

00:19This quotation from Jesus

00:22relates to the law of attraction of homogeneous species

00:27meaning that we see in others the very same characteristics we possess ourselves

00:33whether they are positive or negative

00:36If we see a serious flaw in someone else that frustrates and upsets us

00:43to the point of accusing them

00:45that is a strong sign that we have that same flaw to a greater degree within ourselves

00:53Essentially, we are blind to our own faults

00:58but become irritated by the faults of others

01:03The law of attraction of homogeneous species

01:07can also be observed in our expectations of people we frequently interact with

01:14For instance, when someone gives a free warning about

01:19their potential display of envy, vanity, or arrogance to someone else

01:25such a warning may reveal more about the person giving the warning

01:31than the one who is being warned

01:34If we always expect negative behavior from a certain person or group of people

01:42then we should examine ourselves for signs of similar negative behavior

01:48toward our deepest beliefs

01:51We must be honest and even implacable with ourselves in such matters

01:58If we want to recognize the truth behind the facts

02:03Such a phenomenon is indeed a colossal help granted by the Creator on our path toward spiritual development

02:15It is as if we moved through life holding a mirror facing ourselves

02:21immediately pointing out the flaws we still have to overcome

02:28It is a priceless tool for self-improvement available to everyone

02:36provided that we have the humility and honesty to acknowledge

02:41that the flaws we see in others are often present within ourselves to a much greater extent

02:48If a person lacks humility, they may continue to make mistakes without realizing their errors

02:59These mistakes may become more frequent and severe over time

03:04due to the influence of other similar individuals

03:09This can cause the person to experience a spiritual decline

03:14which will attract even more negative energy

03:19Eventually, they may fall deeper and further down

03:23without realizing the extent of their descent

03:27as dictated by the law of spiritual gravity

03:32Let's therefore remain vigilant and cautious

03:36After all, the person who points an accusing finger

03:41will one day have to answer for his other three fingers

03:47pointing right back at him
