00:00God Almighty says in His Holy Book
00:02After I say I seek refuge in God from Satan the accursed
00:05Be patient over what they say and remember Our servant David, the possessor of strength. Indeed, he was one who frequently turned back [to God].
00:11O Lord, expand my chest for me, ease my task for me, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech. Amen, O Lord of the worlds.
00:17Today's khutbah is dedicated to something about David, peace be upon him
00:22and something Allah Almighty spent quite a bit of time explaining in Surah Saad
00:26And I think it's an important lesson for all of us to remember for a number of reasons
00:31The first of them is
00:33Indeed, this Qur’an narrates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they differ.
00:38The Qur’an tells the Israeliites a lot of things that they themselves disagreed about
00:43Meaning the Bible says many things about prophets
00:46And the Qur’an actually sets the record straight
00:48and one of the prophets that the people of the Hebrew script glorify a lot
00:53They really look up to him is who they call David who the Quran calls David
00:57the Hebrews call him David
01:00And even though they consider him a great leader and speak very highly of him
01:06they've also said some pretty horrible things about him
01:08and accused him of many immoral acts
01:11And in doing so a lot of times unfortunately in the tafsir literature of the Muslims
01:16Sometimes we actually made tafsir of some ayat
01:18Based on what has been said in the Israeliat
01:21Meaning what they have in their books
01:23we interpreted what we have and we assume that that's what it's talking about
01:27but a careful study of the Qur’an actually reveals that
01:30Allah Almighty is actually correcting what they said about their prophet
01:34so I'd like to start briefly about telling you what they said about their prophet
01:38that is so unacceptable
01:39And then we'll talk about the verses of the Quran
01:41what they essentially said was that David, peace be upon him, had many wives
01:4699 actually
01:47and he became interested in this other woman who was already married
01:52he saw her from his palace
01:54he saw her in a balcony
01:55and became interested in her
01:57and he wanted to marry her
01:59And that he would have a hundred wives now
02:01but he found out that that woman is already married
02:03and married to one of his military commanders
02:05because he was the commander
02:06he was the ruler
02:07And one of his generals that was his wife
02:09so he purposefully sent him
02:11into a battle position
02:13where he knew that he would be compromised
02:15and he would be killed
02:16so he could get killed
02:17and he could marry the widow
02:19that's the essential story
02:21that the Israelites account
02:22The Qur’an has a completely different picture
02:25to this scenario
02:27And so inshallah
02:29before we go there
02:30The first thing I want to highlight is
02:31sometimes Rasulullah ﷺ
02:33is given examples of previous prophets
02:37as also in some way role models
02:40as in if Rasulullah ﷺ
02:42is going through a particularly difficult time
02:44and he needs hope
02:46Allah might refer to him and say
02:48in the beginning
02:48We have not sent down the Qur’an to you to make you miserable.
02:50we didn't give you the Quran
02:52to make you miserable
02:53and then further down we'll say
02:55Has the story of Moses reached you?
02:56have you experienced the news of Musa
02:59did that news reach you
03:01in other words
03:01You'll find inspiration in Musa, peace be upon him
03:03similarly in this passage in Surah Sa'd
03:05Allah Almighty and Jal gives our Prophet
03:07inspiration by making him remember
03:09the legacy of David
03:10Allah says
03:11be patient over whatever they say
03:12Be patient with what they say
03:14And remember Our servant David
03:16and make mention of our slave Dawud
03:18Allah didn't just say Dawud
03:19He said, Our servant David
03:20our slave Dawud
03:21and calling him Abd
03:22it's already an indication
03:23that he's an obedient
03:24subservient slave of Allah
03:25and a great honor
03:27Dhalayd
03:28then he mentions
03:29that Dawud ﷺ
03:30was a person possessing great might
03:31he was powerful
03:33and then he adds
03:34He is the most repentant
03:35and he's certainly someone
03:36that keeps coming on back to Allah
03:38keeps making Tawbah
03:39in other words
03:40his power did not get to his head
03:42His power did not make him
03:44an arrogant human being
03:45his power
03:45despite his power
03:47He kept going back to Allah.
03:48and repenting to him
03:49now
03:50that
03:50Allah will now describe
03:52how powerful is he
03:53Indeed, We subjected the mountains to him.
03:55He glorifies us in the evening and the morning.
03:58And the birds are gathered together
03:59Tell him he is a penitent
04:01Allah says that
04:02he made mountains humble
04:04along with him
04:05that when he would make
04:06the praise of Allah
04:07the mountains would do that
04:08along with him
04:08in the daytime
04:09and in the evenings
04:10or in the daytime
04:11in the
04:12at night
04:14and also in the daytime
04:14and birds would gather around
04:16Tell him he is a penitent
04:18And all of them would come back to him
04:19meaning he had this deep
04:20profound connection
04:21with nature
04:22and actually when he would
04:23Praise be to Allah
04:23nature along with him
04:24would actually praise
04:25Allah Almighty too
04:26then he says
04:27And We strengthened his kingdom and gave him wisdom.
04:30And the final word
04:31and we gave him
04:32very powerful kingdom
04:33and we granted him
04:36a great deal of wisdom
04:37that already is a defense
04:39that what he does
04:40is full of wisdom
04:41and wisdom that is granted
04:42by Allah
04:42so any such story
04:44which definitely contradicts
04:46even the least sense
04:47of wisdom and justice
04:48can't be true about
04:49David, peace be upon him
04:50and then he says
04:51And the final word
04:52and that he made him
04:53very articulate
04:55in making his point
04:56he was a phenomenal speaker
04:58and a phenomenal judge
05:00and an arbiter
05:01if people came to him
05:02with disputes
05:02he would know
05:03how to convince both sides
05:04and set the matter straight
05:06This is part of the meaning.
05:07of the final word
05:08but now the story itself
05:10This is the Quran's version
05:11of the story
05:12I mentioned to you
05:12in the beginning
05:13that is quite honestly
05:14offensive to a believer
05:15but on the other hand
05:17what Allah Almighty describes
05:19is actually quite remarkable
05:20and beautiful
05:21he says
05:22Has the news of the adversary reached you?
05:24When they climbed over the wall of the sanctuary
05:26and has the news
05:28of the two arguing sides
05:29move up everybody
05:30there's no room in the back
05:31move up
05:32Have you heard the news of the adversary?
05:35When they climbed over the wall of the sanctuary
05:36has the news of those
05:38who are arguing with each other
05:39meaning two factions
05:40two groups
05:41they have an argument
05:42among each other
05:43has the story of them
05:45reached you
05:46but then Allah says
05:47here's where the story begins
05:48When they climbed over the wall of the sanctuary
05:52which is also like the surah of the Qur'an
05:54but actually originally means
05:55from sur
05:56the giant wall outside of a castle
05:59Or the giant wall outside of an ancient city
06:01they made these walls so long
06:03and so large
06:05so that enemies could not scale on top of them
06:07This was the old defense.
06:09of ancient cities, castles and forts
06:10so those kinds of walls are called sur
06:13now if somebody's scaling those walls
06:15Because there's no normal way to scale those walls
06:18you have to grapple
06:18or you have to do some crazy measures to get up there
06:21And of course anyone that's getting up
06:23over those walls
06:24is someone who means to do
06:26The inhabitants of the castle some harm
06:28This is some enemy force.
06:29that's trying to penetrate
06:30and overcome this wall
06:32Now Allah begins by saying
06:34have you ever heard the news
06:36of the two sides that were arguing
06:37as they climbed up
06:39they scaled this massive wall
06:41and entered the prayer niche
06:42The mihrab are the inner quarters
06:44the private quarters
06:45of David, peace be upon him
06:47Meaning Dawud, peace be upon him
06:48is the king of the time
06:49he is the ruler of the time
06:50up on top of this castle
06:52way high up
06:53in the most secure area of the castle
06:54he's got his private quarters
06:56and now all of a sudden
06:57inside his private chambers
06:59these strangers
07:01that apparently have a case to bring to him
07:03have scaled the wall
07:05and come into his private space
07:07so his first impression is gonna be
07:10These people are here to assassinate me
07:12or to kill me
07:12Because why wouldn't they come through
07:14the proper channels
07:15and why not just make an appeal
07:17to see the judge
07:18and have a court date
07:19and all of that
07:20these people have clearly made
07:21a military move
07:23to come and see David, peace be upon him
07:24When they entered upon David
07:27when they came into the company of Dawud
07:29when they entered into his company
07:30He was terrified of them
07:33Quran says then
07:35as a result of that
07:36he became terrified of them
07:38now panic in Arabic
07:41is one of the words for fear
07:43but it's particularly a word for fear
07:45the kind of fear
07:47that throws you off your senses
07:48you panic
07:50and you become reactive
07:52and you just act on impulse
07:54that's a winner
07:55you know there's a fear
07:57where it's kind of slowly brewing
07:58there's a fear
08:00you heard a crash
08:01and all of a sudden
08:02your body jerk react
08:03you know
08:04that's a reactive move
08:06similarly you heard something
08:07you like
08:07I have to do something
08:08I have to do something
08:09and you immediately take an action
08:10and then later realize
08:11maybe I acted too quickly
08:13I shouldn't have been so susceptible
08:14and quick to make a reaction
08:16I should have thought through this
08:17and not have jumped the gun
08:19right
08:20so the kind of fear
08:21that makes you react
08:22without thinking
08:23that's actually scary
08:24so when he says
08:26the ayah says
08:26He was terrified of them
08:27This is important to note.
08:28it's not just that he was terrified of them
08:30he's kind of thrown off balance
08:31This is important to remember.
08:33They said, "Do not be afraid."
08:35they said
08:36no, no, no
08:36we're not here to kill you
08:37don't be afraid
08:38in other words
08:38now they're saying
08:39I know we scaled over this wall
08:41and have breached these quarters
08:44and yes we have trespassed
08:46but no, no
08:47we're not here to kill you
08:48don't be afraid
08:49Two losers, some of us have wronged the other
08:52Look we just have a case of two people
08:53that have argued against each other
08:56we've got
08:57One of them has violated the other's rights
08:59we actually have a criminal case
09:00we wanted for you to discuss
09:02because you're the judge
09:03you're not just the ruler
09:04You're the supreme court judge
09:05We wanted to discuss a criminal case
09:06it's ironic
09:07they commit a crime
09:08and they want to discuss a criminal case
09:10but the important thing here
09:12they said
09:12there are two parties
09:13that have had an argument
09:14with each other
09:14the ayah however
09:15did not say
09:16When they climbed over the wall of the sanctuary
09:18it said
09:19When they climbed over the wall
09:20the plural form was used
09:21in other words
09:21it's two people
09:22that have an issue
09:23but there's a legion with them
09:25so they all came together
09:27but they want to discuss
09:29the case of these two people
09:30now
09:31So judge between us with justice.
09:33so make judgment
09:35between us rightfully
09:36be just
09:37be just and truthful
09:38in the way you're going
09:39to make a judgment
09:40Don't go too far
09:41and don't overpower us
09:45and don't use your position
09:47height
09:48Shat is also tall
09:50don't use your position
09:52to dismiss us
09:53like we came all the way here
09:55as if to say
09:57that if they came
09:57the proper channels
09:58you wouldn't have considered them
09:59get out of my sight
10:00I don't have time for you
10:01so don't do that
10:02don't dismiss us now
10:03and now they're in a position
10:04almost to kill him
10:05first they said
10:06don't be afraid
10:07and now they're saying
10:08Don't go too far
10:08Shatta also means
10:10actually
10:11exceeding the limit
10:13In the sale
10:13like if you overprice something
10:15unfair pricing
10:16so it's actually a means of
10:18look
10:18be fair in judgment
10:19and don't
10:20be unfair
10:21and don't be biased
10:22towards one side
10:23against the other
10:24okay
10:24because I
10:25you know
10:26you're
10:26and the idea is
10:27look
10:27you live in a castle
10:28one of the people
10:29that is going to present the case
10:30is going to be poor
10:31the other one is going to be rich
10:33And because you're rich yourself
10:34you might be siding
10:35towards the rich party
10:36you know a judge
10:38who's a business owner
10:40may feel more sympathy
10:41before a plaintiff
10:42who's also a business owner
10:43you know a judge
10:45who's a husband
10:46who went through a divorce
10:47may feel more sympathy
10:49towards the husband
10:50in front of him
10:50who went through a divorce
10:51a woman
10:52may feel more sympathetic
10:53towards a woman
10:54so whoever you side with
10:56or you know
10:57a republican judge
10:58might find out
10:59that one of the parties
11:00is republican
11:01and from his party
11:02or whatever else
11:03and a donor
11:03there might be something
11:04in his heart to say
11:05I'm going to go easier
11:05on this guy
11:06and harder on that one
11:07it may be
11:08there could be a bias in you
11:09so don't be distracted
11:11also means
11:11don't be biased
11:12And guide us to the straight path.
11:14and guide us
11:15to the most even
11:16of all paths
11:17in other words
11:17be fair
11:18be clean
11:18and down the middle
11:19so now the case itself
11:21what is this case
11:22that they had to climb
11:23over a wall
11:24to discuss
11:25This is my brother
11:27this right here
11:28for sure
11:29This is actually my brother
11:30so the two people
11:31that have a case
11:32against each other
11:32are siblings
11:33He has ninety-nine ewes.
11:36he owns 99 sheep
11:37now you remember
11:39the word 99 came up again
11:40in the Israelite tradition
11:41about him having 99 wives
11:43we're not talking about 99 wives now
11:45we're talking about 99 sheep
11:46my brother's got 99 sheep
11:48And for one ewe
11:50I only have one
11:51he's got 99
11:53I only own one
11:54He said, "Entrust her to me."
11:56and he says
11:57just give it to me
11:58let me have my 100
11:59my brother says to me
12:01give me 100
12:03And he comforted me in the speech
12:05and he's very authoritative
12:07and mean
12:08and bullying
12:09when he talks to me
12:10he's intimidating me
12:11and forcing me
12:12to give up my one sheep
12:14and add to his 99 already
12:15now
12:17this on the side
12:18is a commentary also
12:20on how big business
12:21can intimidate small businesses
12:24and take over
12:25right
12:26and they can use the authorities
12:29they can use government
12:30they can use their lawyers
12:31they can use lobbyists
12:33to run small businesses out of
12:35you know
12:35small practices out of business
12:37but anyway
12:38that's a side issue
12:39he says
12:39and of course
12:40the one speaking
12:41is the one who only owns one sheep
12:42and he says
12:44I've got one
12:45he's got 99
12:45and he means to me
12:46he keeps telling me
12:47to give mine up to him
12:48and now
12:50David, peace be upon him, speaks
12:52and he says
12:53He has wronged you by asking for your ewe in addition to his ewe.
12:56he has done wrong to you
12:58your brother has certainly
13:00and he says
13:01Indeed
13:01so he certainly has done wrong to you
13:04by asking for your one sheep
13:06to add to his sheep
13:07By asking your ewe to join his ewes
13:10And many of the companions oppress one another.
13:15And it happens a lot, quite a bit
13:17that people that are very close together
13:19Meaning family members that are close together
13:22business partners that are close together
13:24co-workers that are close together
13:25people that you interact with a lot are called mixers
13:28literally means to mix
13:30so the people you spend a lot of time with are mixed up
13:33so it's not just a reference to business partners
13:36but family relations, friendship relations, co-workers, things like that
13:40it happens quite a bit that people that are so close to each other
13:43end up doing wrong to one another more so
13:46So that some of them may oppress others.
13:48and so this happens quite a bit
13:50David, peace be upon him, says:
13:51Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds.
13:54Except those who truly believe
13:55and do good deeds
13:56now Allah is teaching us that belief and good deeds
13:58is not just prayer and dua
14:00but it's actually good deeds are
14:02the people that are closest to you
14:04that you have a lot of interaction with
14:05that you don't do wrong by them
14:07that you don't oppress them and things like that
14:10Some of them will oppress others.
14:12Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds.
14:14And a few are important
14:15and how few those people are
14:17how few people are that realize that their faith
14:20should inspire them
14:21not to wrong the people closest to them
14:23And David thought that We had tested him.
14:27and at that very moment
14:28Dawud realized
14:30that Allah was only testing him
14:32meaning they disappeared
14:33this entire punch
14:35poof, they just disappeared
14:36and he realized
14:38that he was just being put to the test
14:39This was a very difficult trial test for him
14:41now some interpreted this to mean
14:44Dawud realized
14:45this wasn't about 99 sheep
14:47This was about 99 wives.
14:49and that extra wife
14:50and by the sheep example
14:52he was being taught a lesson
14:53that if you think this is unfair
14:55how do you think what you're doing is unfair
14:56which I'm humbly suggesting to you
14:58is absolutely incorrect
14:59way of looking at these verses
15:01let's try to understand
15:02what's actually happened in this story
15:04Peace be upon you
15:06was by himself in his quarters
15:07these strangers jumped in
15:09kind of ambushed him
15:10then they said
15:11don't be afraid
15:12but it's already been said
15:13He was terrified of them
15:14he's off
15:15his game
15:16he's a little thrown off
15:17he's reactionary at this point
15:18they're also intimidating him
15:20and telling him
15:21we've got a case
15:22you better be fair
15:23and you better give us the right judgment
15:25and you better not be biased
15:26and they've already kind of made him
15:28reactionary
15:29and also defensive
15:30Because they're almost accusing him
15:32that he might be this way
15:33and then on top of that
15:34they give him this case
15:35and the victim speaks
15:37And the victim's only got one poor sheep
15:39and now Dawud, peace be upon you
15:41also doesn't want to be seen
15:42as the one who sides with the wealthy one
15:44and when the one speaks
15:46Dawud a. Salaam immediately says
15:48this one has done wrong to you
15:49But the problem with that is
15:51when you're a judge
15:52you have to hear both sides
15:54you have to hear both sides
15:56before you pass any judgment
15:57this one said
15:59I only have one sheep
16:00and they're trying to take it away
16:01and all of that
16:02but
16:02well let's hear your side of the story
16:05what do you have to say about this
16:06that didn't happen did it
16:08he didn't ask the second side
16:09what their version of it is
16:11and he quickly passed judgment
16:13and actually even gave a sermon
16:15about how this happens quite a bit
16:17like a lot of times
16:18And of course the idea is
16:19a lot of times
16:20those that are more wealthy
16:22or more powerful
16:23tend to take advantage
16:24of those that are not
16:25but does that mean
16:27that that's always the case
16:28is it possible
16:29that someone who's not wealthy
16:31or not in a position of power
16:32may be doing wrong also
16:33is that possible
16:34certainly
16:35like for instance
16:36in the case of Musa a.salaam
16:38from a distance
16:39he saw two people fighting
16:40and he saw
16:42one was a member of Bani Israel
16:44and the other was from the Egyptian rulers
16:47And the Israelites were slaves
16:49They were mistreated all the time
16:50so when he sees
16:52an Egyptian soldier
16:54beating up a slave
16:56he says look
16:57this is here again
16:58you see the same thing
16:59that you see a thousand other times
17:01all the time
17:02they beat up these poor Muslims
17:03those were the Muslims of the time
17:04they oppressed them
17:05they beat them
17:06they torture them
17:07and here it's happening again
17:09he went and he tried
17:10to help the situation
17:11he punched the soldier
17:12the soldier died
17:13long story short
17:14it turns out
17:15that the one
17:15the Muslim brother
17:16that he helped
17:16was a crook
17:17he was a crook
17:19in other words
17:20you have this impression
17:21Oh these guffar
17:23they're always trying to do wrong
17:24to these poor believers
17:25or these wealthy people
17:26They're always trying to take advantage
17:27of poor people
17:28or these leaders
17:29They're always trying to take advantage
17:30of their followers
17:31etc, etc, etc
17:32you've got this impression in your head
17:33Because you've seen it a thousand times
17:35so it must be true
17:36the thousand and first time
17:38so you don't even bother
17:39hearing the other side
17:41And that's exactly what happened
17:43with Musa a.s.
17:44and now that's exactly
17:45what's happening with Dawud a.s.
17:47in that he was quick
17:48to pass judgment
17:49And as soon as they disappeared
17:50he realized
17:51he shouldn't have been thrown off
17:53he shouldn't have been reactionary
17:55he should have taken his time
17:56calmed down
17:57listened to both sides
17:58and not be intimidated
18:00by what he's hearing
18:01Because when they already told him
18:03you're probably going to be biased anyway
18:04then he said
18:06well, no, no, no
18:07I'm not
18:07I'm going to be with the poor guy
18:08but that's not the right way to go
18:10so Dawud a.s. realized
18:12that that test
18:13was one to make him realize
18:15This role of leadership
18:16is not an easy one
18:17he has to side with the truth
18:19whether it's popular or not
18:20populist or not
18:21and so here
18:23we find
18:24Dawud a.s.
18:25So he asked forgiveness of his Lord
18:26then he made istighfar
18:28the last part of this ayah
18:29is of sajda
18:30I'll skip that a little bit
18:31and I'll tell you
18:32what happens next
18:33O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth.
18:36Dawud
18:37we have made you a leader
18:39left behind on the earth
18:40We have put you in charge
18:42on the earth
18:42and he says
18:44So judge between people with justice.
18:46judge between people rightfully
18:48if this ayah was about himself
18:51Then Allah Almighty
18:53would have said
18:54you be fair yourself
18:55if this ayah was
18:56the sheep are being used
18:58as a reference
18:58to his own personal life
19:00then Allah would have said
19:01if you have been made a khalifa
19:03you should be an example
19:04of justice first
19:05before anybody else
19:06that's not what's said
19:07Allah says
19:08from here on
19:09make sure
19:10when you pass judgments
19:11between people
19:11do so with justice
19:13do so rightly
19:14hear both sides out
19:16by the way
19:17we also learn here
19:18that a judge
19:19if he's in a position
19:21of being intimidated
19:22or scared
19:23or shocked
19:24in any of those situations
19:26A judge needs to recuse himself
19:27and say
19:28this is not the time
19:29I'm not going to be able
19:30to pass this judgment
19:31he has to be able to say
19:33I'm not qualified
19:33at this time
19:34or you know
19:35what happens in many
19:36corrupt societies
19:37there are you know
19:38like for example
19:38there's all these news
19:39about what's happening
19:40in some parts of
19:41South America
19:42or whatever
19:42you have judges
19:43that are you know
19:44there are some drug dealers
19:45or whatever
19:45they're on trial
19:46and then the judge's family
19:47is called
19:48if you want to
19:49or the judge is called
19:50if you want to
19:50you know
19:51your family to be okay
19:52where your child goes to school
19:53or this or that
19:54if you don't pass this judgment
19:56the right way
19:56if you don't let this guy go
19:57then you're not going to
19:58see your kids again
19:59and they get intimidated
20:00if you get intimidated
20:01you're not going to be able
20:02to pass judgment
20:03if you carry a bias
20:05you're not going to be able
20:05to pass judgment
20:06if you have any kind of
20:07fuzz impacting judgment
20:09judgment itself
20:10is not going to be fair
20:11that's not just about
20:12the courtroom
20:13now it's actually
20:14about all situations
20:15you have a situation
20:16in your family
20:17there's a dispute
20:18inside of your family
20:19and you're in a position
20:20to pass judgment
20:21but you're afraid
20:22that if you go against
20:23this person
20:24even though they're wrong
20:25they're going to come after you
20:26or they're going to be angry
20:28with you
20:28And you don't want to deal with that
20:30so you either stay quiet
20:31or you don't do anything
20:32because now you're
20:33you're a victim of fuzz
20:34you're not standing up
20:35for the right thing
20:36because you don't want to
20:36speak out against somebody
20:37who you know
20:38more influential
20:40than you are
20:41or that they have something
20:43holding on to you
20:43and as a result of that
20:45you're holding back
20:45from justice
20:46so this isn't just about
20:48a ruler
20:48This is actually about
20:49the principle of justice
20:50as it applies
20:51across life
20:52So David, peace be upon him
20:53is then told
20:54judge between people
20:55rightfully
20:56And do not follow your desires
20:58And he misleads you from the path of Allah.
20:59don't follow
21:01empty vain desires
21:02don't become a person
21:04of whim
21:04and where are you?
21:05suggests
21:06that don't become
21:07impulsive
21:07that's the idea
21:09Behind the passion here
21:09And he misleads you from the path of Allah.
21:11and if you do so
21:12then it will take you away
21:13it will mislead you
21:14from Allah's correct path
21:16Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah
21:18They will have a severe punishment because they forgot.
21:20Judgment Day
21:22what a profound ending
21:24to this story
21:24He says no doubt
21:26those who have gone away
21:28and have become lost
21:29from the path of Allah
21:31they're going to have
21:32pretty intense punishment
21:33because of what they forgot
21:35Because they forgot
21:37because of what they forgot
21:38in other words
21:38they forgot
21:39that they are a judge
21:40right now
21:41and they're not being fair
21:43as a judge
21:43but a time is coming
21:45when there's gonna be
21:46a judge over them
21:47and they're gonna be
21:48standing before Allah
21:49Judgment Day
21:50the day on which
21:51The accounting is being done
21:52of them
21:52you know
21:53they've forgotten about
21:54the court date
21:55that they have
21:56they've forgotten about
21:57the judgment
21:57that they must face
21:58and so
21:59Allah Almighty
22:00ties all of that together
22:01for all people
22:03Indeed, those who go astray
22:04For the sake of Allah
22:05generally
22:06and so in doing so
22:07Allah Almighty
22:08has preserved
22:08the remarkable dignity
22:09of a great prophet
22:11and has reminded us
22:12that we have to maintain
22:13the integrity of prophets
22:14but in doing so
22:15He also reminded us.
22:17that we shouldn't be quick
22:18to pass judgment
22:19we should hear both sides
22:21and we should
22:22be calm
22:23when we pass judgment
22:24and we should remember
22:25that our judgments
22:25are actually
22:26our judgments themselves
22:27are going to be
22:29evaluated before Allah
22:30we should also remember
22:31that partners
22:32when partners wrong each other
22:34and you know
22:34the statement still holds true
22:36The companions
22:37So that some of them may oppress others.
22:39you know
22:40so many khulatā
22:41so many people
22:41that interact closely
22:42with each other
22:43end up wronging each other
22:44that we have to be mindful of that
22:46that are we on the wrong
22:47are we being wronged
22:48which one is it
22:49and we have to you know
22:50May Allah bless you
22:51make us conscious of that
22:52because that is a matter
22:53of our faith
22:54and that is actually
22:55part of our salihah
22:57when Allah says
22:57Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds.
22:59And few of them are important
23:01how few those people are
23:02who understand
23:03that their faith
23:04and their good deeds
23:05tied to that
23:06is their sense of justice
23:07to those that are closest to them
23:09May Allah bless you
23:10make us people that are just
23:11and people who do right
23:12by those that are closest to us
23:13May Allah bless you and your family with the Wise Qur’an.
23:15And benefit me and you with the verses and the remembrance of the Wise.
23:17Praise be to God and that is enough
23:22Peace and blessings be upon His chosen servants.
23:24Especially on the best of them and the seal of the prophets
23:26Muhammad al-Amin
23:27And on his family and companions
23:29God Almighty says in His Holy Book
23:31After I say I seek refuge in God from Satan the accursed
23:34Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet.
23:36O you who have believed, pray upon him and greet him with peace.
23:39O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
23:42As you prayed for Abraham and the family of Abraham in the worlds
23:45You are Praiseworthy and Glorious
23:46May God bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
23:48As you blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham in the worlds
23:51You are Praiseworthy and Glorious
23:52Servants of God, may God have mercy on you. Fear God.
23:55God commands us to count and do good.
23:57And giving charity and forbidding indecency and wrongdoing
24:00And the remembrance of God is greater
24:01God knows what you do
24:03Perform the prayer
24:04Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.
