00:52Massive politics also being played now.
00:54We have seen how the Congress leaders, the Gandhi family, Priyanka Gandhi as well as Rahul Gandhi,
00:58they have commented on Prime Minister Modi's visit.
01:01Priyanka Gandhi said that it is too late for Prime Minister to be visiting Manipur now.

01:47This is Prime Minister Modi's first visit to Manipur since the ethnic unrest.
01:51Prime Minister Modi is on a day-long tour to Northeastern states.
01:55After Manipur, he will be visiting Assam.
01:58And before Manipur, he was in Mizoram.
02:00He flagged off three trains.
02:03Those trains will now be connecting Mizoram with one of them.
02:07The Rajdani Express will be connecting as well to the national capital.
02:11All the three will now boost connectivity.
02:13Prime Minister Modi, while he was speaking in Mizoram,
02:20clearly pointed towards the fact that earlier state governments as well as the central government,
02:25they have neglected the development of the Northeastern states.
02:28But BJP very, very clear that they want to make sure that the Northeastern states develop
02:32at the same pace that the rest of the nation is developing.
02:36New markets will also open up for Northeastern products, for Northeastern fruits.
02:44And now with better connectivity, the central government is now hoping
02:48that the economic development of all the Northeastern states will be very swift.
02:54This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Manipur.
03:04Manipur saw ethnic clashes taking place for many days.
03:11Almost for 40 days, there were clashes that took place between Kukis and Maitis.
03:16Many people were displaced.
03:18Many, unfortunately, also lost their lives.
03:20At that point, the government had given assistance to all those people,
03:24now Prime Minister Modi, is meeting select few,
03:27those people who were displaced after the ethnic clashes.
03:30My colleague Indujit Kundu is now joining me on the story.
03:33Indujit, we are seeing these pictures.
03:35Prime Minister Narendra Modi smiling, meeting with the families of those who were hit by violence.
03:40This is Prime Minister's first visit to Manipur.
03:44Well, Ashwarya, that's right.
03:45Prime Minister's first and very, very significant visit to Manipur in the last two years.
03:50Ever since the ethnic conflict broke out in the state,
03:55and this is seen as very, very significant by all stakeholders in the road to peace for Manipur.
04:05Prime Minister, of course, the head of the state,
04:07the state of Manipur right now is under President's rule.
04:11So, directly after the central rule right now.
04:14So, in that context, after seven years, after seven months since the President's rule was imposed,
04:20we have seen some semblance of normalcy return in the lives of people on both sides of the ethnic divide.
04:27In Shrachanpur, where the Prime Minister right now is, meeting the Kuki Zoo community.
04:33And also, once he comes back to Imphal Valley, and he will be meeting members of the Mete community.
04:40Now, what is interesting, Ashwarya, is that the weather is extremely inclement.
04:45There is massive, you know, downpour across Manipur right now.
04:49Therefore, the Prime Minister's schedule was tweaked.
04:51He was supposed to land and take the air route and land directly in Shrachanpur, which he could not.
04:57So, he had to land at the Imphal Airport.
04:59And the Prime Minister took the two-hour road trip from Imphal Airport to Shrachanpur.
05:04So, that tells you the kind of significance that the Prime Minister himself attaches to his visit this time,
05:11that he had to undertake that road trip, which is brought with certain security challenges.
05:16But the administrative administration has made full-proof security arrangements for the Prime Minister,
05:22who has now landed at Shrachanpur.
