00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04The big wet weather system has moved away. It is now over New Zealand. It is that far away.
00:09We just have these showers off the coast in through here. Might get a little during the afternoon,
00:14but otherwise skies are fairly clear, winds are fairly light, so it's a very different picture to what we've had in recent days.
00:21We are going to get some clouds. You can start to see it developing through here, through the southwest,
00:25and these parts here, that doesn't bring any wet weather.
00:27OK, so let's have a look day by day. So here's just that cloud, really.
00:31It's a light spit, if anything, in that southwestern corner.
00:34Here's the chance of a brief shower along the coastline in through there.
00:37This is all we have for Friday. As we go into the end of Friday, there's the high pressure system over Adelaide.
00:42By the end of Saturday, there it is over northeastern New South Wales.
00:46So what that means is winds travel in this direction, anticlockwise, around a high.
00:51So as that moves out, we end up with onshore winds, which is moisture.
00:54And so that means we can get some coastal shower activity just extending here,
00:58but not heading any further inland.
01:00In the southeast, there's a bit of wet weather here.
01:02We're not likely to see much as it moves across the southwestern parts there.
01:06That's Saturday. Having a look at Sunday, the highs now firmly outing through here.
01:11So we're in northerly winds.
01:12We're going to start to see some warmer air extend through there.
01:15There is a system coming.
01:17That's hardly any wet weather on the coastline by there.
01:19That's the end of Sunday.
01:20Let's now move into Monday.
01:22Here's that next weather system by the end of Monday.
01:24So it really hasn't entered New South Wales.
01:27This will be a Tuesday system as we get all of that warm air out ahead of it.
01:31Here is Tuesday as it comes through.
01:33So by the end of Tuesday, the cold front is here up to Newcastle, the end of Tuesday.
01:38The trough part of it is in through here, back over these parts.
01:42This one isn't as big as the last one.
01:44It doesn't have a cutoff low that is moving through.
01:46It doesn't have a huge tropical moisture feed, but it will affect the southern inland parts and the ranges as well, not really extending into the north.
01:54The falls, that means they're also not as big.
01:56So 2 to 5, 5 to 10, 10 to 15 as soon as you get to those proper southwestern slopes.
02:01So that's what we're looking at for Tuesday.
02:03The cold air works its way up the coast by the end of the day.
02:07So here we have Wednesday, just the leftover spilling over into there.
02:10There's nothing for the southeast coast this time.
02:12High pressure is now out through here, so we're back into onshore winds on Wednesday.
02:17So we'll get that little bit of coastal activity, nothing significant.
02:20OK, so by the end of Wednesday, here's the high.
02:22By the end of Thursday, the next high is already out in through here.
02:26A little bit of coastal activity, warm winds now extending down once again.
02:30The next weather system by the end of Thursday is up to here.
02:34So it's still back over to our west.
02:36By the end of Friday, this one extends further northwards.
02:39It's the frontal part that is here running up the New South Wales coast by the end of Friday.
02:44It's warm before that arrives.
02:46And it splits as it hits the rangers.
02:48So here's the trough part that is running in through there.
02:50So not just for the southern inland and rangers, this will be for the northern inland and rangers as well,
02:55because it has a little bit more moisture feed and it's able to extend further northwards.
02:59So that's how we're looking by the end of Friday with some cold air moving across the southeast.
03:05All right, so how is that going to add up?
03:07Not as big as the last one.
03:08We've got two systems coming through Tuesday and Friday.
03:115 to 10, 10 to 15, 15 to 25, 25 to 50 only on the snowies in through here.
03:17That doesn't extend all the way into the north around orange 5 to 10 millimetres.
03:21So we're not looking at a huge force from this one here.
03:24What's that going to do to the temperature for Sydney?
03:26In terms of wet weather, it's not going to do anything at all.
03:29So we've got a dry week ahead.
03:30It is very different to the week we have just had.
03:33We're in the cooler.
03:34We're mild conditions here, 19, 20.
03:36It jumps up as we go into Sunday, 24 and through there, 25 on Tuesday before temperatures dive at the end of the day as that cold front arrives at night.
03:46So that's on Tuesday.
03:47We don't get any wet weather from it.
03:49We'll just be a southerly change.
03:50So winds back to southwesterly by Wednesday morning.
03:53It's not freezing in behind it.
03:54We're 22 on Wednesday, 21 on Thursday.
03:57Having a look at next Friday, 28.
04:00So that's the warmest day of the week.
04:02This is why you can't have one icon for the entire day because the day itself, it is sunny, top of 28.
04:09We've got nausally winds.
04:10And then in the evening, that is when the change arrives and the temperature drops away.
04:14So the day on Friday, that is warm and dry.
04:18That icon is not representative of that, is it?
