00:11I don't know what his ceiling is, I just see someone who is really driven,

00:15got a really good all-round game, physically he's excellent as well.

00:25He could be a big, big player for Everton, never mind for us,

00:31so we were excited to get him and get working with him.

00:34What was the weight like? Did you get stressed out?

00:37No, not as stressed as James and Peter was, they were blowing my phone up,

00:39I just had to relax.

00:42Once I knew that Harrison wanted to come to us above the others,

00:48I knew Everton wanted him to come to us,

00:51we were really respectful of Everton's situation

00:54and David's trying to get players in himself

00:56and it's probably a sign of how highly they regard Harrison,

00:59that he was staying in if they couldn't get the players,

01:02but they were always going to get the players

01:03and we were always going to get Harrison, you know,

01:05when it comes to that point.

01:06And we're really grateful that, like I said,

01:09that they did let him come out.

01:11What did you make of not getting a striker

01:13or do you think you've added goals and assists?

01:15No, I wondered one.

01:17It's hard, it's hard to get him.

01:18Like I said, we've worked so, so hard

01:20to get the players that we've got.

01:24And again, we could have just taken a number,

01:26we could have just taken one,

01:27but I don't think they'd have improved us,

01:31you know what I mean?

01:32And it would have only been right to take one

01:35that I felt we would give our group a lift

01:39and give us a better chance of winning games,

01:41you know, more often

01:42and get in front of what we've got

01:43or really push what we've got.

01:45So, yeah, it was tough.

01:46And I mean, you've all seen the market

01:48and what it's been like,

01:48especially for strikers.

01:52And that's been, yeah,

01:54that's been a tough, tough area.

01:56Yeah, is it rare that you finish a window

01:58and there isn't more you want?

01:59Has there ever been a case

02:00where I've got everything I wanted?

02:03God, probably not now.

02:06It's irrelevant now.

02:07You move on to the next,

02:08like it's done, it's gone.

02:09I'm just pleased with how this one went,

02:12like I said,

02:12and how hard we worked,

02:14we've done.

02:15Listen, if you look at what we've done,

02:18again, I'm looking across the league

02:19and the spends,

02:21like we've, yeah,

02:22net spend,

02:23we're in a massive positive,

02:24you know what I mean?

02:25But I think we've improved the group

02:26and we've had to work hard

02:27to make that money go a long, long way.

02:29And there's some tough conversations

02:32with players last year

02:33I really respect

02:34and got loads and loads of time for

02:36and were great for me,

02:37great for Preston,

02:37but the only way we could

02:39bring players in

02:42was to generate the money

02:43and the money was already in the squad,

02:45you know?

02:45So it was, yeah.

02:48And that's another reason

02:49why it was tough.

02:50Like, that's tough.

02:50It's emotionally tough to do that

02:52and try and change that

02:55and have those conversations

02:57and then to go and find the players

02:59because you're ultimately saying

03:00we've got to try and find better players

03:02on less money.

03:05and we worked tirelessly

03:07to try and do that.
