00:00On the loan lads, how much work goes into convincing them to come here?
00:04If you've got them in a room or on a Zoom, do you back yourself to attract them here?
00:08Have you got a decent record of having a few?
00:10Yeah, I've been pretty good at that, to be fair.
00:12I think you're probably better asking the players, but from my point of view,
00:17it's like I said, when you're looking at your loan players you're bringing in,
00:23and it's easy for me to say this because it's a true,
00:25why would I think about wasting any of the budget when you're working on fine margins
00:29and you've got to see them performing in your team,
00:32you've got to see them playing in the XI,
00:34you've got to see them contributing to help you win.
00:36And that's all loan players.
00:37One, they want to know that they're going to get game time.
00:41I also, because I want to really clear in my head how we're going to use them
00:45and what they're going to bring, we can show the players that
00:48so they get a good understanding of how much we know about their game
00:51and them as lads and what they can bring to us and what we expect them to bring.
00:56And then also where we want to help them improve.
00:58Sometimes that's in line and really in sync with what they're asked to do
01:03at the parent club.
01:04Sometimes it's not because we might be asking them to do a slightly different role.
01:08But all these messages, clarity, and they get a good understanding
01:11of what's going to be expected of them.
01:13And then if they want to come, I'm delighted because we don't shy away from anything
01:17in terms of how hard it's going to be, what we expect from you.
01:19So if they want to come, they've already bought into how we work.
01:22And I think that's a really, a really big thing.
01:27I wouldn't sign players if I'd not spoken to them.
01:29And that process is not just for long players.
01:33It's the same for the other lads as well.
