00:11So says the latest PSA Labor Force survey results that show, among others,
00:16hundreds of thousands of homegrown guys getting tech and vocational jobs in July this year.

00:27Marlon Tarnate, an air conditioning technician, made the right decision in choosing his profession.
00:36He says he knew that air conditioning is now a necessity for Filipinos due to the hot weather in the country.

01:10Marlon is just one of those who remain employed as a maintenance worker for a company which belongs to the industry of plants,
01:19machine operators, and assemblers.
01:22According to the latest Labor Force survey from the Philippine Statistic Authority, or PSA,
01:28the number of Filipinos working in the said industries increased by 211,000 in July 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.
01:40There are four major occupations that have shown a major increase in employment on a year-on-year comparison.
01:48But not all Filipinos are as lucky as Marlon because there are industries in the country affected by bad weather such as agriculture,
01:58forestry, and fishery, as well as services and sales workers, and elementary jobs like helpers.
02:06According to the PSA, this has a big impact on the country's employment rate.
02:121.64 million Filipinos lost their jobs this July 2025 compared to July 2024.

02:59The latest labor force survey from the PSA also showed that the Bickle region has the lowest labor force participation rate,
03:10lowest employment rate, and highest unemployment rate.
03:14To recall, Bickle region was affected by several typhoons and other weather disturbances like Southwest Monsoon.
03:22But the good news is, based on the percentage of the class of workers, more than 31 million Filipinos are now working in private companies or government as of July 25 compared to July 2024.
03:38Karoon tayo ng year-on-year increase na mga 1.24 million and this is significant at ang substantial dito ay inabsorbed ng private establishment na 987,000.
