00:00The number of Filipinos who had a job in November last year increased based on the Labor Force Survey of the Philippine Statistics Authority

00:08while the number of underemployed also decreased.

00:16More than 400,000 Filipinos left their underemployment status

00:22based on the November 2024 Labor Force Survey of the Philippine Statistic Authority of ESA

00:28based on the results of the survey, 5.35 million Filipinos are now included in underemployment.

00:36It decreased compared to the 5.79 million Filipinos recorded in November 2023.

00:43The transportation and storage is high here.

00:45We have a reduction in the number of underemployed of around 144,000.

00:51And the big contributor is the passenger land transport.

00:56So, it's also a contributor to the increase in the number of employed persons.

01:00So, of course, this is related to activities during the holidays.

01:07The number of Filipinos who have no job in the country also decreased by more than 170,000.

01:16Based on the survey, 1.66 million Filipinos have no job.

01:21This is low compared to November 2023,

01:24when 1.83 million Filipinos recorded no job according to the PSA.

01:30Those who work in the agricultural sector are the largest number who lost their jobs.

01:37Based on the survey, more than 1.99 million farmers and fishermen lost their jobs

01:43according to MAPA due to the recent typhoons.

01:47However, there are more jobs in the manufacturing and accommodation services

01:54and workers in the wage and salary workers classification.

01:59We have a reduction in the agricultural sector and fishing due to the typhoons.

02:05But we have an increase in the manufacturing and accommodation services

02:10as well as the wage and salary workers.

02:15Based on the month-on-month data of our survey,

02:18the number of people who have a job increased.

02:22The number of Filipinos who had a job in November 2024 was 1.38 million.

02:28In total, the number of Filipinos who are employed increased to 49.54 million.

02:35This number increased in October 2024, which is 48.16 million Filipinos.

02:42According to the PSA, there are five major industries

02:45that increased the number of employment in the country in November 2024.

02:50These are manufacturing, accommodation and food service activities,

02:54human health and social work activities,

02:57transportation and storage, and other service activities.
