Did the Red Sox just find their 4th starter- or still too Early?? Sox blank A's for 2nd night in a row. Can Sox sweep Athletics today?
Transcript
00:00Is it too early to suggest that the Red Sox may have found their fourth starter last night?
00:05I don't know about the Sox, but you're throwing heat this morning.
00:08I mean, what about my boy Big Stash? Hold on now.
00:11He goes tonight.
00:12Big Stash is still hanging around.
00:15Is he the number six prospect when it comes to pitching in all of Major League Baseball?
00:18Am I correct about that?
00:19I think I saw that, yes.
00:21So, I don't know, looked pretty good in his debut.
00:25But I'm just going to, you know, I ain't going to put my foot on the gas pedal too much
00:28because I did that with my homeboy Big Stash and his second outing wasn't as good.
00:33So, I'll take it.
00:34It's still too early to tell.
00:36But hopefully he can, you know, between those two guys, hopefully they can get one.
00:41The two of them can combine and be your fourth guy should you need to go there.
00:48Yeah, no, but, you know, I mean, you're still right where you need to be.
00:52You're still chasing, obviously, Toronto, who won last night.
00:56But, you know, you're going to have an opportunity to play them here in the next few weeks
01:01and make up some good ground.
01:03You just got to keep winning baseball games, especially against the bad teams.
01:06Well, and you weren't doing that for a little bit.
01:07I mean, you bring it up.
01:09You missed a massive opportunity against the Pirates.
01:11So, the fact that against the Athletics you are shutting them out and doing that back-to-back nights,
01:15that's a good sign.
01:16I just think that you've got to continue that momentum.
01:18You can't keep giving up series that you should be winning.
01:20You did that against Arizona too.
01:22It's like, you know, these bad teams, you got to be able to beat them.
01:25Because you're going to look back at it once we hit the end of September,
01:28look at those series and say, damn, if we had gotten those, where would we be?
01:31And then when you look at the Yankees, I think the Yankees are playing Detroit.
01:35So, Detroit's really good.
01:36And Toronto's playing Houston.
01:38So, you know, they might stumble a little bit and you're able to make up some ground
01:42because they're playing really good teams and you're playing a crappy team.
01:45And you've got the Yankees next.
01:46And not to go back to an old sore subject, but you see who it is 50th last night?
01:52Who's that?
01:52Was it Schwarbs?
01:53Yep.
01:53Oh, yeah.
01:54Schwarbs is killing it.
01:55Yeah.
01:56That train left a long time ago, though.
01:58I know, but it's fun to revisit it.
02:00Yeah, no, it is.
02:00Courtesy's right about that.
02:01Who was that at the time?
02:04Was it Heimblum?
02:04It was Heimblum who wouldn't call him back.
02:08It's like 20 million, right?
02:09Wasn't it?
02:09I think Heimblum picked up the phone and said nothing.
02:12And so that's where the issue.
02:16Just a lot of heavy breathing.
02:17We were talking about first names of children the other day on the show.
02:24Connelly is an interesting first name.
02:27Definitely a mother's maiden name, if I were to guess.
02:30You think so?
02:30Yeah, that's a pretty popular last name.
02:33Right.
02:33I don't think I've ever encountered anybody with the first name of Connelly.
02:38Me neither.
02:38But I know a few people with that last name, so that's where my mind went at first.
02:42I also, I love to do this where somebody gets hot and then I always go to see if they have
02:47a significant other because let me tell you, Connelly Early is going to be very popular
02:50among the ladies in Boston.
02:52Really?
02:53Keep it in your pants.
02:53No, no, no.
02:54Is that because of his height?
02:55You're a married woman for crying out loud.
02:57I know, but I can still, I have eyes.
