00:25SUHAKAM urged the government to use all possible diplomatic and legal measures
00:29to safeguard the rights and lives of Malaysian citizens on death row abroad.
00:34Last week, Panir's bid for a stay of execution pending disciplinary proceedings arising from
00:39his complaints to the Law Society against his former lawyer was dismissed by Singapore's
00:44Court of Appeal.
00:46He was convicted of trafficking heroin and sentenced to death in May 2017.
00:50Dachinamurti, who was sentenced to death in 2015 for smuggling diamorphine, was scheduled
00:55to be executed in 2022 but obtained a stay of execution pending his legal suit against
01:00the Singapore government over his death sentence.
01:04Saminaten and Likasvaran were separately sentenced to death in 2018 for trafficking diamorphine.
