00:00Hi everyone, Aaron here for Zollotech and Apple's iPhone 17 event is just one day away and there's
00:06some last minute leaks and releases I thought we'd share since there's more information coming
00:10out every single minute it seems. Now the first thing is the Apple event takes place on September
00:159th at 10 a.m pacific time 1 p.m eastern time. You can watch it on apple.com, you can watch it
00:21in the Apple TV app or you can watch it on YouTube. If we go to Apple's YouTube channel you'll see
00:26there's a placeholder for it you can set it up to notify you as well based on your time zone.
00:31So that's already live ready to go and of course we'll watch that live sometime tomorrow around 1
00:37p.m eastern time. It usually is about one to two hours long so of course I'll be live tweeting it
00:42sharing it on threads sharing it elsewhere also and let me know if there's anything else you'd
00:47like to know ahead of time or maybe have me share it on YouTube. Let me know in the comments below.
00:51Now the iPhone 17 design is said to be a two-tone design in a new aluminum body. Now these are just
00:58the dummy units that have sort of buttons where they should be. The overall design seems about right
01:03but one thing that's always been off about these is the placement of the Apple logo and this makes
01:08sense if it does have a two-tone design. So you'll see it's down here where it's off center but with a
01:14two-tone design with maybe a border here, a cutout maybe for glass or a charging area, it would put the
01:20Apple logo in the center of that two-tone area. So that makes a lot of sense. Maybe they're actually
01:25adding that to help with cooling and also maybe better overall connectivity. So it could be better
01:305G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Hopefully we see improvements there this time around but it seems like that Apple
01:36logo definitely makes sense further down if it is a two-tone design. So hopefully we see that and it
01:42will also give the overall iPhone 17 lineup a different look that we haven't seen before.
01:47Now the updated display is said to be brighter. We've talked about that before but now the dynamic
01:52island is said to get a little bit smaller. So where it's currently around two centimeters it's
01:57said to shrink down to about 1.5 centimeters. Now of course it will have all of the same features,
02:02the same sensors, but they were able to shrink those sensors into a smaller area,
02:07taking up less space, leaving more room internally for components, heat dissipation, and other things.
02:12So it makes sense that maybe they want to shrink that down especially if they're going to implement
02:16it on next year's folding phone if that's actually something that releases and it could just be a
02:21little bit smaller overall. And inside that new dynamic island we're also said to be getting a 24
02:27megapixel camera. So an upgrade that we haven't seen on the iPhone yet that's supposed to come on
02:32the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max designs. So that's something we
02:38definitely could see. Where it will be a much improved camera, help with overall recording,
02:43maybe some better video recording as well. And when it comes to the back of the phone,
02:48well the back is said to still have three cameras. Of course with this giant camera bar
02:52placing things such as the flash further off to the right may help with overall red eye reduction
02:57and maybe there'll be less glare and some other enhancements too to the lenses. But we're said to
03:01have 48 megapixel cameras on all cameras this time along with up to eight times optical zoom.
03:07However the new thing that's leaked out is possibly a variable aperture. So that allows more or less
03:13light in. It could give you a blurrier background for better depth of field or just better low light
03:18photos altogether. So it could open or close the aperture of the camera maybe. And this is something
03:23that I don't know that it's confirmed but would be a nice addition. We've seen it on other phones
03:27before and I don't know that it was a big success but it would definitely be something that's nice
03:31especially for video recording as well. And video recording is one area we could be getting a big update
03:37this year. The first thing is dual recording with both front and back cameras with the iPhone 17 Pro models.
03:43So we could record from the front maybe comment on what we're seeing on the back camera. Again something
03:48we've seen in other manufacturers but Apple may be adding it to the Pro models and that would be due to the extra RAM
03:54up to 12 gigabytes able to handle that. So we don't know if that would be something on the iPhone 17 Air
03:59or iPhone 17 but it looks like it would be on the iPhone 17 Pro. I would love to see that feature
04:04brought over to the iPhone 16 models but it looks like it could be something that's more exclusive
04:09at this point. We could also see 8k recording. So this has been long rumored for a couple years at this
04:15point but 8k recording would be welcome. And while you can't really view that in many places since
04:20most people don't have an 8k display it's great to be able to record in 8k and then zoom in to 4k
04:25and it just gives you a little extra work room to work with when you're maybe editing this or just
04:31filming things in a different way so that you can get more detail. So that's something I would
04:35definitely welcome. Of course you need to keep all of that cool and the latest information showed a new
04:40vapor chamber. This has again been rumored for a couple of years but it looks like it's been shown off
04:45in particular. So we could have a new vapor chamber designed to help keep everything cool
04:49along with that two-tone design with maybe that glass piece on the back aluminum to help keep
04:54everything cool since it conducts a little bit better than titanium and the titanium is nice but
04:59it's not good at getting heat out of the device. So maybe this will help that tremendously. Again we
05:04don't know all the details until Apple shares it but that's something that I think would be really nice.
05:09Also the iPhone 17 Air is said to use Apple's new C1 modem. It's said to come in this new light blue
05:15color that we've seen before and it could use the new C1 modem but lacks millimeter wave. Some
05:21reports show that on T-Mobile the C1 modem is slightly slower but where I live I've not found
05:26that to be the case. Technically it is though but in ideal situations it would be slower since it only
05:31supports three carrier aggregation instead of four carrier aggregation. So depending on how the network
05:37is set up around you of course that could make a difference. Also one thing I wanted to note and we'll be
05:42comparing once it releases in a few days is the iPhone 17 Air is super thin but not so much thinner
05:49than the iPhone 6 Plus. So this is an iPhone 6 Plus on the left, iPhone 17 Air on the right. The 6 Plus
05:56with its camera combined is actually thinner. However the overall frame of the 17 Air is thinner than the
06:016 Plus. So that just gives you an idea of what to expect but it's fairly similar in size but we do
06:07expect this to remain titanium as it would need that to keep its rigidity and strength being so thin
06:12instead of having it bend just like the iPhone 6 models did where there was a big bend gate issue
06:18and it was fairly flexible made out of fairly weak aluminum as well but super lightweight. So that's
06:23something I definitely would welcome a super thin phone but again not at the expense of maybe battery
06:28life or overall strength and rigidity. There's also some good news about the battery. Some odd details
06:36as well. Last minute leaks revealed that the iPhone 17 will have a 3692 milliamp hour battery if this is
06:43true and then the iPhone 17 Air will have variable batteries depending on if you have a SIM card tray
06:49or just have an eSIM. However it's been rumored that the iPhone 17 Air only has eSIM. So we'll have to
06:55wait and see but the battery capacities that leaked were 3036 with a SIM card tray or 3149 without a SIM card
07:03a SIM card tray. When it comes to the iPhone 17 Pro that gets a fairly big bump up. So 3988 milliamp
07:11hours with a SIM card tray 4252 milliamp hours without. And then finally with the iPhone 17 Pro Max we could
07:19have our best battery life ever combined with the chipset inside and a 4823 milliamp hour battery if you
07:26have a SIM card tray or 5088 milliamp hour battery without. So with the eSIM in the United States we'll
07:33have over a 5000 milliamp hour battery if this is true. So with the chipset the A19 Pro the new cameras
07:40the new thermal design we could have really great battery life and while typically the iPhone 16 has
07:45good battery life it definitely goes down over the year not only as the battery degrades but as software
07:51sort of uses more resources and makes it a little bit worse. Also a day or so ago new images of the
07:57attachable lanyard or crossbody strap were leaked by Sonny Dixon on X. It shows the new orange color or
08:03very vibrant orange and what the strap looks like. So this makes sense we've been hearing about it it
08:08looks like it could be a new accessory released with the iPhone 17. We also expect AirPods Pro 3 at
08:14tomorrow's awe-dropping Apple event but the only feature we really expect is a new heart rate sensor built
08:19into the AirPods just like Powerbeats Pro 2 has that integrates with the health app. Now the odd thing
08:25is with the health app if you're wearing an Apple watch it will just use that for your heart rate
08:29however if you're not then it will use your AirPods but you can't typically use the Powerbeats Pro 2
08:34with music and the heart rate sensor at the same time unless they've updated that since. So there's
08:39been some issues with that hopefully we don't see that with the AirPods Pro 3. However we won't get that
08:45live translation feature it seems until a later date. An iOS 26 update would be an addition
08:50where hopefully it will trickle down to AirPods Pro 2 and all of the latest AirPods but it looks
08:56like that feature that was leaked by Mark Gurman some time ago won't be available. However Ming-Chi
09:01Kuo this weekend said that Apple is planning to update AirPods Pro 4 with more significant hardware
09:06with possibly an infrared camera as well. We've been hearing about this again from people like Mark
09:11Gurman where it could have a camera and this time around it could provide hand gesture support
09:15or possibly better spatial experiences on Apple Vision Pro. So that's what we expect for AirPods Pro 3
09:22probably a similar price around $250 or so but again we'll have to wait and see what it has to offer.
09:28It's also said not to have a physical button on the back which is something I would miss
09:32but it's just for pairing and it does work fine on AirPods 4. When it comes to Apple Watch of course we
09:38expect some new ones here a private account on X with a very good track record shared some information
09:43about what to expect with the releases with Apple Watch. We expect an Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch
09:49Ultra 3, and a new Apple Watch SE3. They're all said to have a similar chipset based on the S10
09:55architecture still so not some major updates there, possibly blood pressure monitoring or at least
10:01alerting you of blood pressure increases. So those are things that we don't know 100% some people have
10:07said that's definitely coming with blood pressure monitoring, however it could just be alerts
10:11similar to what we have with temperature alerts as well. But either way we don't expect major design
10:15updates other than maybe the Apple Watch Ultra 3 with a brighter display at a higher refresh rate,
10:21slightly larger display, and maybe better viewing angles similar to the Apple Watch Series 10.
10:26So not any really huge updates there, maybe a plastic body for the SE3, but we're not expecting
10:32anything major there as the software updates fairly minor this year with watchOS 26 as well.
10:38A bit of a surprise this year could be an iPad Pro with an M5 chipset. This is something that was
10:43again leaked by an anonymous account on X and maybe we'll have an M5 iPad Pro. What it could offer over
10:50what we currently have is hard to say as it definitely feels underutilized on the M4 iPad Pro, but either way
10:56it looks like we could get that as well as a release with that event. So we'll have to wait and see if
11:02they do that or push this maybe to an October event as well. Some others have also suggested we could
11:07see new AirTags with updates at this event as well released, just sort of on the side. Again, they could
11:12leave that until maybe an October event to release it along with many other things, sort of to make the
11:17event fuller, but either way we should be getting new AirTags soon as well. Also later this year, according to
11:23Mark Gurman, we could see a new Apple Vision Pro. Now it's possible they could announce it at this
11:27event. We don't really know, but it would be space black, possibly completely different looking with
11:32an M4 or M5 chipset. Maybe the color change would be a big update along with maybe a design change
11:39that makes it much lighter. That's something I would welcome. And of course I've had a few issues
11:43with the crack here in the front where I don't know where it came from. And this crack on the side
11:47here I've shown before where that probably was a result of traveling with it. I'm not sure, but either way
11:52it hasn't affected the usability of it, but definitely the crack on the front, as it's always
11:56stored in this case here, and then in an Apple case as well is a bit surprising, but I know a lot
12:02of people were experiencing that. Also, we expect an update to the HomePod Mini. HomePod Mini 3 possibly
12:09with an S9 chipset from the Apple Watch, but we could get a new red color according to Mark Gurman.
12:14Again, we don't know if it will be at this awe-dropping Apple event or if it will be at another event,
12:18but we do expect some sort of upgrade with that, maybe as we get closer to the new HomePad
12:23or rumored Home device that we've been hearing about for some time. Also, we do expect an updated
12:29Apple TV coming soon as well with an A17 Pro chipset and Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, but possibly
12:36at a later date. Again, as Mark Gurman said to expect it, but he didn't say at this event
12:40necessarily, but just later this year. So those are things I would expect. As far as future iPhones,
12:46well, next year's iPhones were originally thought to have new 48 megapixel sensors developed
12:51in tandem with Samsung that could have better dynamic range, but according to Ming-Chi Kuo last
12:56minute, he said don't expect those until 2027. So that would be iPhone 19 at the earliest. However,
13:02we've been hearing about an anniversary iPhone, and maybe we'll have to wait until the iPhone 20 for
13:07that. So we don't know as far as when they're going to release these, but those are things that
13:11are in the works. As far as upcoming releases, many of you have been asking about that. I would
13:16expect iOS 26 RC or release candidate to release to developers and public beta testers after the
13:22event on the 9th. Typically that's what we see every year. They'll push it out after the event,
13:27usually around three or 4 PM Eastern time. Then we'll have about a week until it releases to the
13:32public. So typically we'll see that maybe iOS 18.7 RC as well. And then an iOS 26 public release,
13:40probably on the 15th or the 16th. They of course could change this. Sometimes they stagger releases
13:45with macOS Tahoe possibly coming in October. They've done that before, but it seems like most
13:50things are close to ready. So we could see most of them on the 15th or 16th. Of course, I'll keep
13:55you updated with any information I have on that. Of course we could see iOS 26.1 as well with maybe
14:01some new features. And I don't expect that new Siri update with Apple intelligence until iOS 26.4 at the
14:07earliest, according to all of the rumors. So those are things to look forward to. And all of the things
14:12that have recently leaked about the next event, awe dropping iPhone 17 event. So let me know what you're
14:18looking most forward to. Do you like the new design now that it's supposedly two-toned? Are you planning
14:22to pick one up? For some reason, I really liked the iPhone 17 air and may pick one of these up for
14:28myself, but let me know what you're planning on getting to use as your main phone. I'd love to hear
14:32from you in the comments below. And also, would you pick up this new orange color? Maybe the new blue
14:37color, the shades could be slightly different here, or maybe you just want to go with black or
14:41silver. Let me know in the comments below. Of course, I'll link the wallpaper in the description
14:45like I normally do. And if you haven't subscribed already, please subscribe. And if you enjoyed the
14:50video, please give it a like as always. Thanks for watching. This is Aaron. I'll see you next time.
