Is It Time To Upgrade to the iPhone 17

#iPhone17

00:00Should you upgrade to one of the new iPhone 17 models or the iPhone Air? I mean, this is the
00:05question so many of you are asking. And in this video, I'd like to clarify my point of view,
00:10how I see this, when should you upgrade, at which model. And also, I'd like to briefly go through
00:15all the new iPhones and tell you about some of the main and most important features of every iPhone.
00:22Let's start with the iPhone 17. From the outside, the iPhone 17 looks a lot like the iPhone 16.
00:27No major changes, we would say. But I think you're really wrong about that. And you shouldn't
00:33underestimate this device. So the iPhone 17 now has a 6.3 inch display. And yes, for the first time
00:39ever, with pride and joy, we can say we have a promotion on the base model iPhone. The iPhone 17
00:46now has a refresh rate of 120 hertz, which is absolutely amazing. This was exclusive to the
00:52Pro models before, but we now have this on this device as well. We have Ceramic Shield 2. So
00:57second generation ceramic shield for better scratch and drop resistance. Then on the back,
01:03we have a Fusion camera, 48 megapixels, an amazing camera. And then going to the front,
01:09we now get a 18 megapixel front facing center stage camera. And this thing is absolutely amazing.
01:16There's this new AI feature, which allows you to hold your iPhone in portrait mode to take a selfie,
01:22and then automatically recognizes when there are more people in the background and then adjust
01:28the crop. So you can shoot both portrait and horizontal at the same time. Next, it comes with
01:33the A19 chip. Extremely powerful and a massive upgrade compared to the iPhone 16's A18 chip.
01:41We now also get Apple's designed and one chip for improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Lastly,
01:49Apple also claims that the battery has significantly been improved compared to the last generation of
01:55iPhone. So that's the iPhone 17. And we're coming back to that one. Next up, iPhone Air, the revolutionary
02:00new thin iPhone. Everyone is talking about this one. And it's so incredibly thin. When you hold it,
02:06you just, you just can't believe how light it is and how nice it feels in the hand. The iPhone Air is
02:12actually an extremely capable iPhone, more than we expected. It comes with some incredible Pro
02:18features. It also has the ProMotion display. It has the A19 Pro chip, similar to the one of the 17 Pro
02:25in it as well. It has a gorgeous display of 6.5 inch. And now also with Ceramic Shield 2. And
02:32unfortunately on the back, we only find a 148 megapixel camera. So that's a little bit of a miss
02:39here, but understandable if you want to have such a thin device. Next, it also lacks one speaker. So you
02:45only get a one speaker instead of two stereo speakers that we're familiar with on iPhone for a while now.
02:52The frame is made out of titanium on the outside. Obviously, it was needed for its sturdiness and
02:58durability. And the iPhone Air also has Apple's first C1X modem. Apple's custom-made C1X chip in
03:05there. This is the successor of the C1 that we have seen in the iPhone 16e. And this is to provide
03:12better modem and cellular speeds. Having this on the SoC of the iPhone means better battery life,
03:19which is essential for this iPhone Air. And the battery, Apple claims it's all day battery life,
03:24but we're not sure about this. We have to try this out and test this, whether these claims hold on.
03:29And yeah, talking about battery, Apple introduced a new MagSafe battery pack specifically made for
03:34iPhone Air. This obviously is for a reason, but yeah, we need to test the battery life. Stay tuned and
03:40make sure to follow me for that one. That's iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever made with some
03:45incredible pro capabilities, but obviously some compromises had to be made in order to create such an
03:51incredible thin device. Up next, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. Apple's most capable and most powerful
03:59devices yet. Now coming with this gorgeous, a new design on the back. If we look at the camera,
04:05we have this new plateau. Apple Cost is their plateau on the back. We need to briefly cover the colors. We have
04:11a new cosmic orange and a deep blue finish. Absolutely striking colors, especially the cosmic orange one.
04:17And what's funny is that Apple went back to aluminum. So yeah, we had titanium on the iPhone 15 Pro and the
04:23iPhone 16 Pro and Apple went now back to aluminum on this design. The two main reasons from what I've
04:29heard is that aluminum spreads the heat better. So that was one reason. And the second reason was that
04:35for this awesome new coating, aluminum was the better choice. And just talking about this design on the
04:41back, there's a reason that this plateau on top is there. A lot of the components have been pushed
04:47into it, which means there's more space on the bottom for the battery. So the iPhone 17 Pro Max
04:52has the biggest battery ever on an iPhone. See, I'm really curious about the stats and how long it will
04:58last. And talking about the battery and performance, we have the A19 Pro chip in the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.
05:06And with this improved chip, we now also have a vapor cooling technology, which allows for better heat
05:12distribution inside of the iPhone. And what this basically does is that it's close to the chip to
05:18close to the A19 Pro. And when it eats up, it's going to spread the heat with this vapor chamber cooling
05:24technology. It's going to spread out better over the iPhone, meaning heat distribution is significantly
05:30better, resulting in better performance and better battery life. Now that we know all these features and all these new
05:36things on these different devices, when should you update and to which iPhone should you update? I think if
05:42you have an iPhone 11 or 11 Pro, that's what I think is right now the best moment to update. You'll jump five
05:49generations of iPhone then, which I think is perfect. If you have been keeping your iPhone 11 or older and you
05:57still were able to survive, then now is the time to update. If you have the iPhone 12 or 13, this now becomes
06:03more of a complex personal choice. If you still have plenty of storage and batteries functioning properly,
06:10no issues with the camera, you can still hold on for your 13 or your 13 Pro and upgrade maybe next year.
06:16This is more of a personal choice. If it's still functioning properly, you don't have issues with the
06:21battery, the camera or performance, don't recommend you to update them. But if you are struggling, you have
06:27some issues maybe with storage or performance, then this is the right time to update as well. And then
06:32obviously the question to which model should you update? The iPhone 17 now starts at $799 and I think
06:40this is the best price to value ratio. If you're really want to have the best bang for your buck,
06:45then go for the 17. Now with ProMotion, 6.3 inch display, 48 megapixel fusion camera on the back,
06:52ceramic shield too, an incredible device. I think this is going to be one of the best selling iPhones
06:58this year for Apple. It just brings the best value if you ask me, if you just look at the whole lineup
07:04this year. And then the iPhone Air, why should you update to this device? Yeah, the iPhone Air is
07:09Apple's thinnest iPhone ever. It's finally a fresh and revolutionary new device and I hope that Apple
07:15will continue this trend of creating thinner devices without any compromise. And I think the iPhone
07:20Air comes really close. If you really value portability and sleek design, go for the iPhone Air.
07:27Comes in at $999. So yeah, it's replacing actually the price of the 16 Pro. So the previous generation
07:35Pro. I think this is really an iPhone for people who want to try out something new, are okay with one
07:40single camera lens, are okay with one single speaker and are also okay with having less battery. Again,
07:48make sure to subscribe to stay tuned about the battery life. And we're going to try and test that
07:52out. People really value portability design and are not necessarily looking for the best Pro features
07:58should go for the revolutionary Air. Lastly, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Pro
08:04starts at $1099. So $100 increase with regards to last year's iPhone Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max
08:12starts at $1199. As the name says, this is the most capable and pro device there is in the lineup.
08:19If you need the best and biggest battery, you should go for the 17 Pro Max. The Pro Max comes in at $1199.
08:26These gorgeous and vibrant new colors have Cosmic Origin Deep Blue. Go for the 17 Pro or 17 Pro Max.
08:33And lastly, if you value performance with this new A19 Pro chip and vapor chamber cooling technique,
08:40you should go for one of these Pro devices. All right, guys, I hope this was helpful. See you in the next one. Peace.
