00:00I do think that we get another reminder
00:03how much people prefer offense to defense
00:06because you're right, Joe.
00:07Certainly through portions of this game,
00:09the Ravens, I think at one point
00:11they wheeled the Lombardi Trophy to midfield
00:12to give it to the Ravens during this game.
00:15But even for Buffalo,
00:16I mean, these two defenses were shredded.
00:19I mean, they were absolutely cooked to pieces
00:21in this game on a Sunday that,
00:25again, the only other over that was offered up
00:27was between Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields.
00:30We ended up with 81 points.
00:33Give the quarterbacks their credit.
00:34But that's an unacceptable effort.
00:37For Buffalo, though,
00:38last year's defense had struggles.
00:40They are not going to be a great defense,
00:42I don't think, this year.
00:43They're going to need to be opportunistic.
00:46What's the Ravens' excuse?
00:48You add in Jair Alexander,
00:50round one talent, Malachi Starks.
00:53Mike Green was supposed to go in round one.
00:55Character concerns allowed him to fall to you
00:57in round number two.
00:59Returning Kyle Hamilton,
01:00Marlon Humphrey,
01:02Kyle Van Nooy,
01:03Roquan.
01:04What is this?
01:05Josh Allen throws for 250
01:07in the fourth quarter?
01:09The Ravens started this year
01:11as Super Bowl favorites.
01:13They are now 0-1
01:15and,
01:16correctfully,
01:18no longer the Super Bowl favorites.
01:20No, not at all.
01:20And you bring up the names,
01:22and just because you have the names,
01:23Kev,
01:24doesn't mean they'll gel as a cohesive unit.
01:26That's basically what we saw
01:29in week number one.
01:30But that doesn't mean
01:31they can't gel down the stretch.
01:32Now, I will say,
01:34the one thing I think
01:34when you look at Josh Allen
01:36and the Buffalo Bills,
01:37why they were able to have success,
01:39he distributed the football
01:41to multiple wide receivers.
01:42Keon Coleman,
01:43what a dynamic performance.
01:45Eight receptions,
01:46112 yards.
01:47You saw Dalton Kincaid
01:48get involved in the offense.
01:50He was inconsistent
01:51at the end of last season.
01:53And that's what you need
01:54for the Buffalo Bills
01:56to elevate
01:56to potentially challenge
01:58the likes of Baltimore
01:59in an AFC championship
02:00and, more importantly,
02:01Kansas City,
02:02which both teams
02:03don't seem to have the answer
02:05to beat in the postseason.
02:07So, yes,
02:08Baltimore's defense
02:09gave up a ton of points
02:11and a ton of yards,
02:12and so did Buffalo.
02:13I don't think
02:13from a defensive perspective
02:15either one of these teams
02:16could go toe-to-toe
02:17from a defensive perspective
02:18with the Eagles
02:19in terms of physicality,
02:21in terms of how good
02:22the Eagles are,
02:23in my opinion,
02:24in the front seven,
02:25but that's why styles
02:26make fights, right?
02:28Nobody saw the fumble
02:30by Derrick Henry.
02:31If I would have told you
02:32Buffalo was going to get
02:34a critical turnover,
02:35we would have said
02:36maybe Mark Andrews,
02:38maybe Lamar.
02:39I don't think anybody
02:40would have said
02:40Derrick Henry
02:41would put it on the ground.
02:43Well, that Derrick Henry
02:44fumble was costly, okay?
02:46That alone
02:47should not have led
02:49to this collapse
02:51from the Ravens.
02:52And Joe,
02:53I do think the defense is good.
02:54I think it's really talented.
02:56The offense is obviously incredible.
02:57I mean,
02:57they average over eight yards
02:59of carry
02:59and over 11 yards of pass.
03:01How do you lose
03:02this football game?
03:03Well, one of the constants
03:05for this Ravens team
03:06seems to be
03:06whenever they lose a game,
03:07that's the question, right?
03:09How do we lose that game?
03:10A lot of blown leads,
03:12a lot of history
03:12starting to be made
03:13for one John Harbaugh,
03:16and I know
03:17OK Dubs doesn't mind
03:18throwing a guy on a hot seat,
03:19but Lisey,
03:21at some point,
03:23something has to give.
03:24This is a sports in general,
03:27but certainly this sport here,
03:29NFL football,
03:31we can put anybody
03:31on a hot seat.
03:33Sean McDermott's been
03:33on a hot seat.
03:34Nick Sirianni
03:35almost lost his job.
03:36Kyle Shanahan,
03:37you ask questions
03:38about all the time.
03:39Kyle Shanahan,
03:40and if can they get it done
03:41with the Niners?
03:42I understand Harbaugh's
03:43won a Super Bowl.
03:44He's also been to
03:45one conference championship game
03:47since that Super Bowl victory,
03:49and they put forth
03:50one of the most confusing
03:51offensive game plans
03:51I've ever seen
03:52in my life
03:53in that loss
03:54to Kansas City
03:55a couple of seasons ago.
03:57This is a football team
03:58who saw Lamar Jackson
03:59throw an incredible
04:00touchdown pass,
04:01I thought,
04:01to DeAndre Hopkins.
04:02He threw the football
04:03two more times
04:04the rest of the game.
04:05Well, that's the problem.
04:06How?
04:08Listen,
04:08he started from
04:09the special team side of it.
04:10He has all this experience.
04:12You have to win
04:13on the details
04:14to justify John Harbaugh.
04:17They're losing
04:17on the details, Joe.
04:18And you have to
04:19break tendency, Kev.
04:20Think about it.
04:21So, they have the 40-25 lead.
04:23Josh Allen comes down.
04:24They score the touchdown.
04:26They cut it to eight points.
04:27They get complacent.
04:29They still want to run
04:29Derrick Henry
04:30on first and second down.
04:32And I understand
04:32that Derrick Henry
04:33was eating.
04:34He was over 100 yards,
04:35averaging well over
04:36four yards per carry.
04:37But at that particular time,
04:39you want to break tendency.
04:40Play action pass,
04:41I guarantee you,
04:42would have gotten you
04:43probably past midfield.
04:45Game is over.
04:46Signed, sealed, and delivered.
04:47But certain teams,
04:48they lay up.
04:50And I keep going to that
04:51Tim Kump mentality
04:52where they're afraid
04:54to take shots
04:55when the game is on the line
04:57and provide the kill shot
04:59to knock out an opponent.
05:01It's like they're afraid
05:02to put the Buffalo Bills away.
05:05The safer call
05:06was giving it
05:07to Derrick Henry
05:08and giving it
05:08to Lamar Jackson
05:09on the ground
05:10as opposed to putting it
05:11in your MVP's hands.
05:13and allowing
05:13to make plays
05:15in the passing attack.
05:16I just don't understand it.
