00:00Things are certainly different in Baltimore. Welcome back to Pro Football Today. Jesse
00:04Minter is the new head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. They have a quarterback that's arguably
00:09one of the best to ever play the game that could potentially leave at the end of the season. Is
00:13this the last ride for what the Ravens have looked like for the last decade or so? Welcome back. I'm
00:19Craig Mish along with Joe Pisapia. This is Pro Football Today. Joe, the Ravens open up this week
00:24at the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens had another good preseason where they simply put never lose.
00:30Those preseason games. I don't know how this happens every year. It doesn't matter who's
00:32there. But Harbaugh is gone. He's gone. That's it. It's a new day. They've decided to bid farewell
00:39probably to Lamar Jackson at the end of the season, sort of signaling, let's try and win this year.
00:45And Joe, dare I say, maybe head to a rebuild after the year. I don't know. It kind of feels
00:49like
00:50they're heading in that direction. If they don't win this year, that's it. The Indianapolis Colts,
00:54lots of pressure on them after the great start last year. They end up losing Daniel Jones and
00:58just trying to simply pick up the pieces from where they were a year ago. Not a ton of playmakers
01:03on the side of the Colts. Zay Flowers, of course, still the main playmaker on the Baltimore Ravens.
01:08But I mean, look, if there was ever somebody with a chip on their shoulder going into an NFL season,
01:13it is Lamar Jackson. But does the Jesse Minter hiring, is that a downgrade from Harbaugh? Is that
01:20an upgrade from Harbaugh? It is Baltimore minus three on the road today.
01:26Yeah, look, I think Jesse Minter was a good hire. He did a great job last year with that
01:30Chargers defense. It was one of the top five units in the AFC last year. And you often see this,
01:36right? When an offensive coach gets fired, you bring in a defensive guy. When a defensive coach
01:39gets fired, you bring in offensive guys. If somehow that just cures all the ills and it doesn't.
01:43I think this game is very much in play. Every year in week one, we get that quote unquote strange
01:48game,
01:49right? The one where you look at it and you go, oh, well, Baltimore, there's the Baltimore Ravens.
01:53They're a heavy favorite, but they are on the road. I think we're forgetting that last year
01:57by week 10, the number one seed in the AFC was the Indianapolis Colts. Everybody just want to shake
02:02everybody's memory and remind them that, yeah, you pointed out maybe the Colts don't have huge
02:06playmakers, but Jonathan Taylor is still there and he's a lot to deal with. Daniel Jones is healthy
02:11enough to be playing out of the gate. Doesn't seem to have any restrictions going on. Tyler Warren is
02:15a problem. Alec Pierce is going to only play 20 to 30% of the snaps, but he is going
02:19to be on the field
02:20here in week one. You still got downs. You've got enough guys here to make this work. I'm on the
02:25side of this game with the three, three and a half, wherever you can get it, because I do think
02:29that
02:29the Colts at home, they continue to always find ways to stay in games and keep things close. And
02:35they had a little bit of that magic last year. Now that doesn't always track year over year
02:38in close games, but I will say this, when you have a lot of new and you're opening up on
02:43the road,
02:44I could very much see the Ravens still trying to find their way through this game a little bit.
02:48I'm not saying they're going to lose necessarily, but I like Indianapolis to cover here. I think
02:52this is one of the more strange games that we get in week one where everyone goes, oh,
02:57maybe the Ravens haven't cured all their ills from 2025 yet.
