01:00And on this edition, we're looking back at the very best of the icon simply known as Goldberg.
01:07With an NFL career behind him, Bill Goldberg burst onto the professional wrestling scene some 30 years ago.

01:22Just when you think you've seen it all from Goldberg.
01:24Goldberg ran a rough shot over the WCW roster, racked up an undefeated streak like no one before.
01:32The most talked-about win-loss record in pro sports.
01:36But it all began with victory number one.
01:39After only, like, two or three months in the power plant, Bill had enough fundamentals that we could take him out of the power plant and now put him out in front of a live crowd.
01:55Humorous will face a newcomer here in Bill Goldberg, a man we know absolutely nothing about.
02:03No one knew who he was.
02:05Like, you thought maybe Goldberg was the enhancement talent, but he just got shot out of a cannon.

02:33The plan was to be so simple and so devastating and so quick that people were like, did you just see that?
02:45I'm not sure I've seen anything quite like it actually, maybe ever.

02:49You absolutely got in there and manhandled him tonight.

02:55I wanted to be something completely different than people have ever seen before.

03:03It became clear to us that Bill was now going to be on a very accelerated flight path.
03:09What a debut for Bill Goldberg.
03:14The entrance, the anticipation.
03:17Goldberg was truly nothing like anyone had ever seen before.
03:21And he was quickly climbing the WCW ladder, setting the professional wrestling world on fire.

03:29In less than one year, he has run through the competition.
03:33Now with an impressive undefeated streak, the Atlanta Adonis looked to capture his first singles title
03:38against the United States champion, Raven.
03:44The focus, the intensity, in the eyes of Goldberg!
03:49The match between Raven and I was definitely something to remember.
03:52It was the start of the new beginning.
03:53Look what Raven's doing!
03:55Daring Goldberg to come get it!
03:56The match, oh, that was awesome.
03:58I mean, even though the match only lasted a couple minutes.

04:42The brute force of Goldberg could not be denied.

04:51This imposing force literally ran through his opponents with the explosive move known as the spear.

05:04The most amazing thing about Bill, he's really the originator of the spear.

05:34But the one that stands out for me is when he did it in the Elimination Chamber.
05:39It is 10 tons, 20,000 pounds, with two miles of chain surrounding it.
05:47And nine, six men will go in, and one will survive.
05:51The Elimination Chamber was just a hefty monster of a rig that you just could not break through.

08:49The feats of strength this man was able to accomplish is something of legend, especially
08:54when it came to his finishing move, the dreaded jackhammer.
08:58But there was one man, or should I say, one giant, that people doubted could be hoisted above
09:07the mighty Goldberg's head.
09:13Standing at an immersive seven feet, the giant stood tall over world championship wrestling.
09:18But was he any match for the king of the jackhammer?
09:26He wants to get his hands around the giant's neck.
09:30That's what Goldberg wants.
09:32I just wanted to come out there and I wanted to smash people.

10:40The most electrifying man in sports entertainment was about to come face to face with the most
10:45dominant man in professional wrestling.
10:49You know, the fact of the matter is this.

10:53I came back.

12:34In a match that pit the face of WWE against the face of WCW, Goldberg looked at the throne,
12:42the Cerebral Assassin, and Unforgiven, 2003.

12:54You got the perfect bad guy in Triple H, and you got this monster over here in Goldberg.

13:26I don't believe it, but Goldberg is actually back to the feet!

14:04After 12 years away from the squared circle, Goldberg announced the unthinkable.
14:08He was returning to WWE.

14:12The beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar.
14:15There's only one ass-kicker, and you're looking at him.
14:18If there was one superstar in history who could rival the brutality of Goldberg, it was certainly
14:23Brock Lesnar.
14:24With so much time passed, would Goldberg be able to prove he still had what it took to
14:29and be in the ring with the very best.
14:38Being away from the business for a very long period of time, there's a lot of doubt, in
14:43all honesty, because the fear of the unknown sometimes can be very overwhelming.

14:53They gave that crowd something I don't think anyone in that crowd was expected to see that
14:56night.

16:13Though since his last run, things have changed a bit.

16:24Because he gave me the desire to be that superhero again.

16:33It's been 14 years since Goldberg held the world title.
16:36He now had a wife and a young son.
16:38All rooting for their hero to do it one more time.

17:40Winning a championship and being able to show your 11-year-old son and your beautiful wife,
17:45it was a dream come true.
17:47Anybody who would tell you any different is a liar.
17:50I saw his son look so happy to hold the title, and my son got to do that.
17:54I got to share that with my son.
17:56And I'm glad Goldberg got to share that with his son and his wife.

18:07It's now time for our number one moment, and it's one that still has the world buzzing.
18:16We've seen what an unstoppable force Goldberg had been throughout his entire career.
18:21But longtime fans know that there was an irresistible force known as Hollywood Hogan.
18:26The champion of the world!
18:27Hogan was the reigning WCW World Heavyweight Champion in July of 1998.
18:33But Goldberg could not be denied his opportunity at World Championship Gold.
18:37Goldberg ain't nobody.
18:39He's not in the same league as Hollywood.
18:42Over 40,000 fans packed the Georgia Dome to see the undefeated United States Champion
18:48Goldberg take on Hollywood Hulk Hogan with the world title on the line.
18:53Goldberg has answered every challenge to date.
18:59With 107 victories.
19:02Despite the fact that this was the story for Goldberg, Hogan had been here for so long
19:07that it just seemed impossible that he would lose.
19:09And it could be the night where Goldberg walks away with the gun from arguably the greatest
19:15champion our sport has ever had in Hollywood Hulk.
19:18It's about being in the right place at the right time.
19:21Every bad guy needs a good guy.
19:24Hogan needed somebody.
19:25If I'm going to be the bad guy, we need another Hulk Hogan.
