01:13And on this edition, we're looking back at some of the very best of the prizefighter himself, Kevin Owens.
01:18Our first moment brings us back to 2014 and the highly anticipated debut of NXT's newest signee, Kevin Owens.
01:27A highly anticipated debut for Kevin Owens.
01:33I waited for that moment for so long, so long. And I remember everything around it was so exciting.
01:43I was welling up with tears. I was just so proud and so happy for him.

01:50He's always been charismatic. He's always been talented.
01:54It's not surprising when you love someone and then everyone else appreciates it, too.
01:57You're like, good, I'm glad you're seeing what I'm seeing.
01:59I'm here! And I'm changing everything!

02:05My nose got broken. Blood was splattered all over my face.
02:09Kevin Owens, I think he really proved to everyone watching when he debuted that he was here to make a statement.

02:21And Kevin Owens won the victory here tonight at his debut!
02:25The whole night was so surreal and to get to go celebrate with Sami at the end.

02:35The NXT locker room coming out to congratulate Sami Zayn and his best friend Kevin Owens!
02:43He won the title and it looks like everything's, you know, great. We're gonna walk off together.

03:01Sami's the ultimate underdog who gets his moment in the sun and his best friend debuts on that night.
03:08And now his friend is out there to support him.
03:10And then he just stabs him in the back because you're stealing my thunder, man.
03:14It was the culmination of 15 years of work for me.
03:17I really can't put into words how special that night was.
03:20An act that certainly shocked the WWE Universe, especially when you consider the history of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
03:31These two literally grew up in this business together and were best friends.
03:35And now the fight was on as one of the most intense rivalries in WWE history was born.
03:44For Sami Zayn, the one thing has been his Achilles heel getting over Kevin Owens.
03:48You know, it's hard to differentiate personal and professional sometimes.
03:51It's kind of all mixed together, especially when it comes to Kevin.
03:55And it just, we somehow bring out the best in each other.
03:58So when it's real, I think fans just feel that.

04:07We had a lot of really good matches.
04:09But something that night just hit perfectly.

06:42And in 2017, the McMahon family found that out first-hand.

07:13Things heat up.
07:15We shake hands and he's pulling me in and he's talking so much.
07:19Saying the worst things he can say.
07:22And I'm like, okay.
07:23And I just...

07:30I headbutt that man so hard.
07:33The boss ends up eating a headbutt from Kevin Owens that leaves him instantly bloody.
07:40It made for a really wild moment.
07:44I remember calling my wife after.
07:46And she was like, you're gonna get fired.
07:48I'm like, no, I'm not.
07:49This is what he wanted.
07:50Don't you dare, Kevin!
07:52No, Kevin, no!
07:57Vince is being held to the back and he's beat up, clearly.
08:00But everybody's fine.
08:01Everybody's like, that was great.
08:03You know?

08:05He wanted you to headbutt him.
08:06What do you think is gonna happen?
08:07Come on, Dad.
08:09So violent in so many ways.
08:11It was a very elevating moment for Kevin Owens, I think.

08:23Where I can extract my revenge after the hell you put me and my family through.

08:31The animosity between KO and the McMahons had literally reached a boiling point.
08:35The stage was set for a WWE first, a Falls Count Anywhere match inside the demonic structure known as Hell in a Cell.
08:51Five tons of steel lowers to the floor.
08:54It is 20 feet from the floor to the roof of this cell.
08:58Don't forget, this match is now Falls Count Anywhere.
09:04For a kid who watched WWE his whole life, Shane was one of my favorite performers.
09:08We were in Hell in a Cell.
09:10How then do you create this atmosphere and the excitement where everyone is just, oh, and they want to see more.
09:17Man, they're getting goosebumps thinking about it.
09:19What is Kevin thinking right now?
09:21Oh, no, no.
09:23Kevin Owens is climbing the Hell in a Cell.
09:27And I realize as I'm up there, I'm looking at the crowd.
09:30And I'm like, holy , this is really high.
09:34Kevin Owens can't roll himself to do it.
09:36Oh, no.
09:38Where the hell is Shane McMahon going?
09:40Oh, and here we go on top of the Cell.
09:42One of the moments I'll remember the most about the match.
09:46Shane's not letting him go.
09:51Oh, my God!
09:53That really hurt a lot, actually.
09:54I remember that.
09:55It was a really hard fall.
09:57Shane McMahon is once again going to the top of the hill in a Cell.
10:03Shane, oh, my God!
10:08We both ended up walking out.
10:09I mean, he barely made it out.
10:10But, um, fans were excited in Detroit.
10:13I don't even know if Kevin Owens is aware of what the hell just happened.
10:16Okay, here we go.
10:17You're in the big time now, man.
10:22As we see with Kevin Owens, friendship can be fleeting,
10:24especially when there's championship gold at stake.
10:29After Bad Blood 2024, an altercation between KO
10:32and undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes took place in the parking lot.
10:37Kevin, no!
10:38You crossed the line.
10:40And this lesson, I'm going to beat it into you.
10:44The two former friends were set to wage war on a night.
10:47WWE went retro at the resurgence of Saturday night's main event.
10:52Cody Rhodes versus Kevin Owens, and they just made a WWE title.
11:02When I started watching WWE, that's the title that everybody had that I wanted.
11:04I'm like, well, I'm winning the title. You know what I mean?
11:06In a match like we're having, a lot of fans will look at it and say, like, here's our two workhorse guys.
11:12They're out there going and doing it.
11:14Crossroads.
11:15Oh, and Owens sends Rhodes inadvertently into our official.
11:20Crossroads out of the chair.
11:22Cody gets rid of the evidence.
11:24Hook of the leg.
11:26Referee Charles Robinson back up and Rhodes retains the title.
11:32Kevin Owens is going to be frustrated, guys.
11:34But that's not the end. The show goes off the air.
11:37We all got it!
11:42Kevin Owens drops him with a package pile driver.
11:47A move that had been banned in the WWE for years.
11:51Very surreal moment, because at that time, it's just a wrestling move.
11:55But it's the wrestling move that I invented when I was a kid.
11:59And here I am doing it in WWE on a main event star.
12:04It looked like he broke his neck.
12:08People were pissed.
12:11The next thing I know, the title gets flung from my hands and I don't know what happened.
12:14I look up and I see it's Triple H.
12:17It was very raw and real.
12:21In 2016, Kevin Owens struck up an unlikely friendship with Chris Jericho.
12:26The duo were as dominant in the ring as they were entertaining.
12:29You're the best friend ever, Kevin.
12:31I love you! I love you too, man!
12:36But as we've seen throughout the program, Kevin Owens is a hard man to read.
12:40And unfortunately, Chris Jericho didn't do his homework.
12:44May I present to you the very extravagant festival of friendship.
12:48When you think of all the best friends throughout history, all of them pale in comparison to Jericho and Owens.
12:58Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens were going to have a party to celebrate their friendship.
13:04Owens and Jericho are in! Let the fun begin!
13:10There's a lot of gifts to give to you, my friend, to prove how much you mean to me.
13:17And then, you know, the gifts with the weird statue and the painting.
13:22Everyone knew something bad was going to happen.
13:27I got you something too, but it's really not much, especially not compared to this.
13:32If anyone would slight Chris Jericho in any way, he'd have a physical list.
13:37He'd write your name down on that list.
13:38And all of a sudden, he gets the list of KO.
13:44How come my name's on this?

13:56He's beating the hell out of Jericho!
13:58What is going on?
14:03It takes talent to do something good, but it takes something extraordinary to do something memorable.
14:08And this will go down as extremely memorable.
14:15Just two months after Kevin Owens made his impactful NXT debut, he did the unthinkable and won the NXT Championship.
14:26When John Cena held the United States Open Challenge, the prize fighter looked to make even more history.

15:04This beginning of a new chapter in my career is something I'd waited my whole career, my whole life, pretty much.
15:08When it comes to your little US Open Challenge, my answer is no.
15:14He has a personality that demands attention, and I'm always an exciting figure to come out and rush up against.
15:23And if you think that you have me all figured out, you're going to realize.
15:28Oh!
15:30Owens with a cheap shot!
15:33And look at this!
15:35A power bomb!
15:37An in-your-face statement from Kevin Owens.
15:39It wasn't just I'm starting on my first night with John Cena.
15:42I'm laying him out.
15:43I'm stepping on the US title.
15:45I'm leaving that night as the guy who dropped John Cena.
15:48Kevin Owens wants to make a name for himself, and Kevin Owens just did.
15:56In 2016, the biggest opportunity of Kevin Owens' career came when a fatal four-way match was set for the WWE Universal Championship.
16:05Fatal four-way to determine the new champion.
16:11Kevin is such a talented guy that just felt like he just needed the opportunity put in front of him.
16:17There was build to it so you could kind of feel it coming.
16:20But the end of the match, where Triple H comes out, and then you realize, oh, he's, like, helping me when I'm the new guy.

16:31Kevin Owens is the Universal Champion!
16:34Kevin Owens is champion!
16:37Pretty great moment to share with Hunter, because he's the reason I got there.
16:42And then he's the one literally handing me the title on Raw.
16:45What did we just witness?
16:48If you look back at the footage, I look really blown away.
16:51From the time I was 11 years old, I pictured that moment thousands of times.
16:57This may be the most shocking moment in Monday Night Raw history!
17:01It's special as a performer for the career that I've had in getting to experience these things, but it wouldn't be nearly as special if I didn't get to share them with all these people I care so much about.
17:11Watching him win the title, I couldn't believe what I was watching.
17:14And it was only once he walked through the curtain that it just, it punched me, and I just completely lost it.
17:21That was really special.
17:23It was really the culmination of that journey, man. It was crazy.
17:25It really doesn't get much better than that, as far as my career is concerned. I really, it's really hard to put into words.
17:34We have now reached our number one moment, and it's a moment that Kevin Owens himself willed into reality.
17:41Growing up, Owens idolized WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin, and dreamt of one day sharing the ring with his hero.

19:57There's no doubt that the career of Kevin Owens has been filled with jaw-dropping excitement.
