00:35future for MCA if the party was seen as weak or promoting and tolerating the culture of errand

00:41boys. Thiel was responding to MCA Youth Information Chief Niao Chu Xiong, who had defended the party's

00:47approach to its future in BN, describing it as responsible politics rather than dragging

00:53its feet. On a related matter, Thiel said he had never advocated abandoning BN as a first

00:59option, citing pressure on the party to leave the coalition after its loss in the 2018 general

01:04election. Thiel said he had asked then-president Liao Tiong-lai to resist such calls.
