00:00Look at that, Hayden Deegan, usually pretty unfiltered, is locked in.
00:03That was dead serious there.
00:05Progressive keys to the Moto RC, what are you thinking?
00:07There you go, at the bottom right side of your screen, history on the line.
00:11Can he pull off the hat trick?
00:13Three SMX World Champions chips in a row.
00:16And for the rest of the field, there's a lot of chatter saying that they can beat Hayden Deegan.
00:21Well, it starts right now.
00:22Let you talk and do it.
00:24This is it.
00:24It'll be a two-moto format.
00:26250's up first.
00:27The split start and the playoffs are underway.
00:30Field is going to meet in the middle here.
00:3411 riders on each side.
00:37One of the Kawasaki's with the edge.
00:41And they're headed to the motocross section, and it is Seth Hamaker who is so close to a title in the stadiums and Supercross this year.
00:49He wants to use this SMX Championship as a revenge tour.
00:53So far, so good.
00:54Yeah, good to see Seth out here.
00:55He took a massive crash earlier today, so good to have him back out here.
00:59And I think, Ricky, this is what we've kind of been waiting for this guy to be able to get out front, clear a racetrack.
01:04We know he almost won that Supercross title this year, so maybe this is that step in the right direction.
01:08You took the words right out of my mouth.
01:11And this is redemption, I feel like, for Seth Hamaker.
01:14You think about how Utah went down.
01:18Salt Lake City, the final round, coming so close, like you alluded to, for the championship.
01:23And, man, this is his time.
01:24He's got three races to redeem himself.
01:28And what a start.
01:29So progressive hole shot for the rider out of Pennsylvania, who, yes, got taken down by R.J.
01:35Hampshire in a fierce battle for the Supercross title back in May.
01:38James, I got to tell you, I was surprised that the hole shot came from the opposite side that you and I were talking about earlier this morning.
01:46And it shows what we know about here, that, but it looked like a couple guys went down on both sides.
01:51So I'm not sure what happened there, but nice to see the other favorite in here is Joe Shimoda in that second place spot.
02:00We saw what he was able to do towards the end of the motocross series.
02:03So if I'm hating Deegan, that's not the guy I want to see in front of me at this moment.
02:07Yeah, so Deegan has some work to do with Shimoda on fire in the motocross campaign.
02:11That's the rider on the red Honda there out of Japan the last couple of months throughout the summer in motocross.
02:15He has been battling Deegan, and he's ahead of him now.
02:19Yeah, and the track's going to be a lot different than what it was earlier for these guys.
02:22They went up and cleaned it, so maybe you see a little of these guys be a little bit patient or be ready to go since it's a lot smoother.
02:28I love what I see, as you can see these top two starting to get away from the crowd a little bit.
02:33And you can see the running order on the left side.
02:35Deegan is seventh behind Adams Vial, fifth, and Cole Davies could be a real spoiler in this.
02:41You see Deegan on the number one.
02:43He is starting to close.
02:44That is the rookie, Drew Adams, right in front of him.
02:47Deegan on the number one in blue, and he makes the move.
02:49Yeah, I was about to say, you're going to watch a rider with confidence, Rick.
02:52He just move his way up in the field, and he can see the leaders right in front of him.
02:55So for him, he's got to be patient.
02:57It's a long race, but I think he'll get there.
02:59Yeah, going to be really important for him to get by these three or four guys early on,
03:04because if he doesn't, it's going to allow a guy like Joe Shimoda and Seth Hamaker to get a little bit of a lead.
03:10Then he's going to have his work cut out for him before that to try to make up all the ground he's losing early on.
03:15Good battle right in front of him.
03:16The 16th, Tom Vial was trying to pass Cole Davies.
03:19Now he makes a mistake.
03:20Deegan and Levi Kitsch it on the 47 are in the fight.
03:24Yeah, I think Tom Vial was looking at that save.
03:27Levi, as you're watching the bottom screen, Joe Shimoda closing in.
03:30But he actually got passed by Cole Davies, a nice pass by him.
03:34So maybe a little, you know, incident going on.
03:37But nonetheless, it allows Levi to catch up on Deegan and watch these two go at it as well.
03:41And to the bottom box, that is Shimoda pressing Hamaker for the lead as Deegan goes after Vial for top five in the top box.
03:49Yeah, Joe Shimoda, one of the things that he did work on this outdoor season is his intensity in the early part of the races.
03:55Used to be a weakness, Ricky, but now he's turned that into a strength
03:58as he's going to try to get up the inside of Seth Hamaker right here.
04:01Oh, battle is on right now.
04:03Can Shimoda close the door?
04:05Instead, he hits a tough block and down.
04:08Oh, man, that's tough for Joe right there.
04:10He should have been a little bit patient.
04:11What do you think?
04:13100%.
04:13He should have been patient.
04:14A lot of racing left to go in this race, James.
04:17And he had the speed.
04:18He was going inside, outside.
04:20Could go wherever he needed to go.
04:23And just probably should have given Seth a little more room right here.
04:26He does have some momentum right there.
04:28But you know what?
04:30Hamaker did the right thing.
04:31He raced him hard, didn't give him much room, but didn't completely close the door.
04:35And say Joe just got a little behind on his braking there.
04:38Yeah, I think those bumps got his rear tire off the ground, so maybe he wasn't able to brake as quickly as he wanted.
04:43But nonetheless, it's going to be costly for the number 30.
04:4612th place now after battling for the lead at Hamaker at Big Gap over Austin Forkner.
04:51And you know what's tough about this?
04:53When you crash early on in a race like this, you get passed by so many guys.
04:57We're much different towards the end of the race when everybody is spread out.
05:00So he's got his work cut out for him, Joe Shimoda there.
05:03Yeah, he's buried in it right now, battling Ty Masterpool.
05:07Hey, fans, you can play SMX for cash.
05:09Super Motocross now live on the top sportsbook and DFS platforms.
05:14As you watch, Deegan looking to make the move on the 16 of the ALF.
05:18Scan the flow code or visit nextbets.com slash playSMX and see what's available in your location.
05:25And Deegan, looks like he has made the move.
05:28Can VL get him back going outside to inside of that 16?
05:31Yeah, that's two laps in a row.
05:33Thompson caught out in that section.
05:35So Hayden's starting to see the safety.
05:37He's got a six-second lead in front of him.
05:39Right now, he's got his teammate moving up.
05:41So Hayden kind of understands, look, at least I'm going to follow my teammate.
05:44I'm not sure where the guy's at behind me.
05:46He knows Joe Shimoda went down, but nonetheless, he's just going to keep going.
05:49But, oh, that is Garrett Marchbanks, who is third in seeding.
05:53Really solid, both Supercross and Motocross.
05:56Really wanted to capitalize, use that momentum, but it looks like he has crashed.
06:01Yeah, I'm not sure where that's at on the racetrack, but he's not in too much of a rush to get up.
06:05So that must have been a tough hit for Garrett.
06:07How about Forkner up here in the mix?
06:11Have not seen this much for Forkner.
06:12He's on the triumph.
06:14This is, if you went to the world of football, this would be a number one draft pick.
06:18One of the all-time talents coming out of the amateurs.
06:21Great as a pro early.
06:22He's been beset by a ton of injuries through the years.
06:24Great to see the number 83 fighting at the front.
06:27Man, I love how Hayden's, he can go wherever he wants on the track.
06:31If a guy's on the inside, boom, he goes to the outside.
06:34Vice versa.
06:36Yeah, and then that's that patience right now.
06:38Like, he didn't get the run.
06:39He didn't want to triple on top of that tabletop.
06:40You saw he lost the time in the beginning, but that's just confidence of a guy that knows
06:44eventually he's probably going to get around him.
06:46But as you said, Austin Forkner, probably a new position that he hasn't been into a long time.
06:51So he might be a little nervous, but nonetheless, it looks good for him out front.
06:54Third place, excuse me.
06:56I think, too, like, if you look at big picture now, oh, look at Tom Vial trying to sneak back in there,
07:01but he isn't able to double that.
07:02He's going to lose some time.
07:03I think I might have saw a cross flag out there.
07:06We're trying to see if the riders are allowed to jump through that section.
07:09Perhaps that's where March Banks went down.
07:12Yeah, we're going to have to pay attention to that towards the end of the race because
07:15that was definitely a jump.
07:16And now you can see the gap between even Cole Davies and Hayden Deegan.
07:21So this is Forkner and Deegan still battling for third.
07:25Davies, though, he's closer.
07:26With the two-moto format, though, I think big picture, James, I think you would be the same.
07:31But, like, at least you've got to get second.
07:34So if you're Hayden Deegan, that is achievable for him right now.
07:38And then go execute, get a good start.
07:40That last moto, put yourself in contention to win the overall.
07:44So he's in a good spot right now, a lot of racing left.
07:48Yeah, and when you look at maybe Hayden's biggest threat, Joe Shimoda going down, I think helps
07:52that.
07:53The other guy that's probably his biggest threat is right behind him, Levi Kitchen.
07:56So Hayden understands where he's at on track position and where his guys are.
08:00So I believe if he can get around Austin Forkner, he might be able to start closing that gap up
08:04when his teammate has his teammates missing, actually, looking at the timing score.
08:08Oh, yeah.
08:09Davies has fallen down, we have heard.
08:11So he goes down from second to New Zealand native, the rookie.
08:14So Forkner is in second place with Deegan and Kitchen here on that green 47.
08:20He is following Deegan through the traffic.
08:22I like what Forkner is doing right here, James.
08:24And the reason that I like is because he's riding his race.
08:26He's not overriding the motorcycle, and he's just doing what he needs to do, and it's
08:33it.
08:33It's enough.
08:34Yeah.
08:34He's keeping these guys behind him where his years passed.
08:36Maybe he'd override it, throw it on the deck, and very, very impressive, man.
08:42This guy has had a tough road ahead of him, or behind him, I should say.
08:47And it's cool to see him riding well.
08:49No, 100%.
08:49Oh, Deegan threads the needle.
08:51That was close, James.
08:52Yeah, that was close.
08:53But Hayden decided he wanted to go around.
08:55We saw him make that pass earlier on another rider.
08:57But yeah, I was just going to say, I'm with you, Ricky.
09:00I love what Austin's doing.
09:01And it wasn't like he was cutting guys off and blocking them.
09:04He was just doing his own thing.
09:05Now he's got to worry about Levi Kitchen, which was a smart move, by the way.
09:08What Levi did, he knew they had to roll those doubles.
09:12So he just cut up the inside instead of running that racing line.
09:14Good move by Levi on the 47.
09:16Yeah, way to pay attention, too, for Levi and sneak up in there.
09:20I don't believe that Austin was anticipating that move.
09:23Well, for Kitchen, he said yesterday in the press conference, he's the most motivated he has been for the playoffs.
09:29Not the season he wanted in Supercross or Motocross.
09:33Only has one victory throughout the 28th regular season round.
09:36So he, similar to his teammate Hamaker out front, kind of looks at these races as a redemption tour.
09:41And he's shadowing Deegan.
09:43Yeah, absolutely.
09:44And you just go back to two years ago.
09:46Hayden Deegan didn't have the best outdoor season as a rookie, but came in here and won this playoff.
09:51And now we're talking about him being one of the best all-time in a 250-class farce championship, going for his sixth championship.
09:58So this could spawn on Levi to be able to win this along with these other guys.
10:02He's got his hands full right now.
10:04Hey, Deegan.
10:04He's putting real heat on Deegan right now.
10:07Well, this is like a reset for guys like Levi Kitchen and Seth Hamaker when you think about it and how well they are riding in Supercross.
10:14Now their teammate, Garrett Marchbanks, we know he crashed.
10:17We now have the footage.
10:19Ooh.
10:20Yeah, that was a tough one.
10:21He came up short, rode that front end.
10:24And as we used to say, it's not the impact, it's the sudden stop that gets you.
10:28Here's Deegan's pass on Fortner.
10:30Yeah, you know, that's, he got by Vial in a similar situation.
10:34He railed the outside and was able to double.
10:36It's actually a couple corners from what you're watching right now.
10:39Using that outside and that momentum to probably help him make those moves.
10:46It looks like he's pulled away from Kitchen just a little bit.
10:48We'll reset.
10:49Hamaker, a big lead over Deegan Kitchen, Fortner, and Vial.
10:53Yeah, I think unless Seth starts riding behind him, I think it's going to be a long shot for Hayden to try to get him.
10:59And he doesn't need to.
11:00We got that two motos.
11:01So for him, second in his first moto will be just as good as the second one.
11:05So for him, I think him, just run that second place, stay away from Levi Kitchen, Joe Shimoda's in the back.
11:10I think it's still a good route for Hayden if he finishes the end goal.
11:13Yeah, each class race is twice, 20 minutes and a lap.
11:15And they take the two results together, do the math to determine the overall winner for the day.
11:20So if Deegan could come out and win the second one, he would essentially be tied with Hamaker.
11:25Tiebreaker is the better second moto, but there's so much racing to go.
11:29Yeah, this track's starting to form in.
11:35It is.
11:36And if you look at the base of the jumps, you're going to hear a lot of the riders talk about how it's really soft today.
11:43You see at the base of the jumps, it's getting super, super ruddy.
11:46And it's been challenging.
11:47So a lot of great guys go down early today in practice, unfortunately.
11:51And this Shimoda is back from 12th to 6th on a track that's pretty difficult to make passes on.
11:58He is pressing the Frenchman on the Red Bull KTM, Tom Biel, for that fifth-place spot.
12:03Yeah, this is very impressive by Joe.
12:05And just like Hayden out front, some of these guys just got confidence.
12:08And we know Joe Shimoda did.
12:10That going down that first lap could have been really costly for him.
12:13But it seems like if he can get back up, maybe get back on the podium,
12:17he's going to have Levi a few seconds in front of him.
12:19And really good ride by Joe Shimoda to come back up here.
12:24And they have forked their ride in front of him as well.
12:26He might be able to get near a podium finish despite the crash.
12:31Again, the rider out of Japan at the 30 trying to set Bielo.
12:33I do feel like with the track being soft and as these riders keep doing lap after lap,
12:40I think it's going to get a little more difficult maybe to move from right to left of the track
12:44because of how ruddy it is.
12:46Whereas at the beginning of the race, when SMX track crew prepped the track, it was nice and flat.
12:52Yeah, which would actually make it better for a guy like Joe to be able to come up and pass these guys
12:56because they won't be able to cut back and forth, as you had mentioned.
12:59The guys in front of them, they're going to have to stick to their line.
13:01So Joe was able to get around Tom Villar right there.
13:04And he's got Austin.
13:06And you can see Levi about three, four seconds in front of him.
13:08So it's a really good ride by the 30.
13:10And incredible to see Fortner up there.
13:13We talked about the 450 class, the premier division.
13:16And Chase Sexton might be the fastest American racer in that field.
13:20Well, it was Austin Fortner who is expected to be in that position.
13:23That's who Sexton was chasing when they were younger.
13:25That's the level of talent Austin Fortner has.
13:29Years and years of injuries.
13:30This is a huge breakthrough for him to be running this strong.
13:33But it looks like Shimoda might be a little stronger right now.
13:35I like that inside line that Joe just took.
13:39I thought it was going to be a bit slower
13:40because he wasn't going to be able to downside that double out of the corner.
13:43But that was a sporty line.
13:46And I think it gives Joe a lot of confidence to be able to go down early in the race
13:50and be able to make this pass.
13:51Because now he probably feels like he can go anywhere.
13:53And when you're watching from the drone shot, he is going anywhere, not losing that time.
13:58He's scrubbing here and there.
13:59He is the second fastest guy on the track last lap.
14:02Peyton was the first fastest.
14:04In traffic, too.
14:04That's right.
14:06And watch the clock there.
14:07Six minutes and a lap to go.
14:09So plenty of time as Fortner battles Shimoda.
14:11Deegan has cut Hamaker's lead nearly in half.
14:15Will there be a run for the lead?
14:16Here's the fight.
14:17Shimoda side by side with Fortner.
14:19Yeah, the same spot that he went down in the first lap.
14:22So a little bit different.
14:23He was a little bit farther ahead and was able to get around Austin.
14:26So Joe Shimoda moves up in that fourth position.
14:28And when you're talking about two motos,
14:30all he can hope for is to continue going where he's at.
14:33I like how he set up that pass.
14:35The corner before the finish line.
14:37He went tight inside, exiting the corner.
14:39So then he set himself up to the outside, coming to the left-hander after the finish line.
14:45Took a really wide exit, tucking underneath to make the move.
14:49Yeah, he missed that triple right there.
14:53So he was looking.
14:53But, yeah, as you were saying, that pass was set up three, four corners ahead.
14:58Ends up working out.
14:59And you can see Kitchen, the third-place rider, not too far up the track.
15:04Some of the longer sections.
15:05Here's Shimoda.
15:06You'll see the green Kawasaki of Kitchen.
15:09Could he make a run for the top three from 12?
15:12You know, I talked to the SMX track crew.
15:14And as they get back here to the outdoor section of this hybrid track,
15:18you can see the dirt's very heavy.
15:20And they put down, like, a type of sawdust, like, as a base layer.
15:25And it's really holding the moisture, whereas they haven't done that so much in years past.
15:30Right, particularly, this section, all these ruts, deep ruts, the dirt very heavy and thick.
15:36It's tough for these 250cc motorcycles.
15:39It really drags and bogs the engine down.
15:43Yeah, I agree.
15:43And that's why they're coming up short on some of these doubles,
15:45because they're not used to it when they let off the gas.
15:48The bike sucks it in, so it really slows them down.
15:51Roger DeFrancisco here on the Rockstar Gascast, the number 25, putting the heat on Vial.
15:58Yeah, he wanted to cut back underneath Tom,
16:00but Tom ran it in that corner and slowed down just enough,
16:02so Roger DeFrancisco couldn't catch that inside.
16:05Nice move by him, but now, nice scrub.
16:08Let's see what he does.
16:08He's going to run that outside.
16:10Maybe be on the inside of Tom if he can get out.
16:15Tom got a good drive out of that corner.
16:18He was able to kind of move over to the left there after the finish line.
16:24Looks like Tom was waving or something that was going on there.
16:28But a lot of times when you see a rider, like for this instance,
16:35rider DeFrancisco behind Tom, and he's able to take alternate lines,
16:39that's just a sign of showing you that he is faster than the rider in front of him,
16:43and he's using alternate lines to try to get by.
16:46Cole's back in the mix.
16:47Yeah, the teenager out of New Zealand really opened eyes in his rookie year.
16:53Monster Energy supercrossed throughout the winter, and he is back with a vengeance.
16:57Nice.
16:57You see Cole tripled after that tabletop.
17:01Yeah, just had that momentum on a different line,
17:03and what I like about that line is the ruts.
17:05He was on the opposite of where all those ruts were,
17:07so nice move for him, and we didn't get his crash,
17:10but I could tell by his jersey.
17:12He went down pretty good.
17:13He's got a lot of dirt on his side.
17:14When you're talking about somebody who's moving, I'm looking at the lap times.
17:17Hey, Deegan got that gap down to almost 20 seconds,
17:20and you know when you see that number one by you,
17:23you've got to start around behind you.
17:25Well, and I think you talk about confidence a lot, James,
17:28and what would that do to Hammacher after having a pretty defiant lead
17:33as far as seconds go on Deegan?
17:36I don't know how that's going to sit for Seth going into the second moto.
17:40Yeah, it's not going to sit well.
17:41He was up to 12 seconds when Hayden moved into second place,
17:44so as long as these lap times are, we heard the guys talk at the beginning part.
17:48You can lose a lot of time by making a mistake and winning a corner,
17:51so we're not sure.
17:52Now look at that gap.
17:53Yeah, it's cut it in half.
17:54It went from, what, three seconds to now 1.7.
17:57He's got them in sight, running out of time here.
18:01Two laps plus a lap to go.
18:03Now to go back to earlier in the race,
18:04we saw the Red Cross don't jump flags out on one of those big doubles.
18:08Apparently, they believe Hammacher might have jumped that.
18:11He will not be penalized positions, but the penalty would be championship points if they choose to penalize Hammacher.
18:17There he is in the lead on the Monster Pro Circuit, Kawasaki.
18:20But what was an 11-second gap is down to less than two.
18:24Yeah, and you can tell Seth's starting to tighten up,
18:27and for him, he's only got about two laps left, but they're two long laps, and Hayden's got them in sight.
18:32The one thing about that penalty, I believe Hayden jumped as well, so it's going to probably equal out.
18:38Well, never, we'll find out.
18:39But nonetheless, we hear he got two and a half laps left.
18:42Wow, and you talk about it.
18:43That's why it's so important.
18:44If they are going to be penalized, every little position right here will be huge.
18:49If you're Hayden and you're able to get by Hammacher, well, that's one less spot that you could possibly lose than for Hammacher to stay up front.
18:56So, interesting to see there.
18:58Yeah, it would be a points penalty, but in a three-race championship, that could loom incredibly large.
19:04Well, you think about the 450 class last year.
19:06Yeah.
19:07Hunter Lawrence almost won the SMX World Championship.
19:11They basically tied and checked out the tiebreaker, JT.
19:14Yeah, Ricky, and this is just such an interesting format because you think about a Monster Hunter Supercross main event, you get paid points per main event.
19:21Pro Motocross, you get paid points per moto.
19:23Well, here in the World Championship playoffs, the overall finish at the end of the day is where you get your points.
19:30So, how will that factor in if there is a penalty?
19:32What is that going to look like in a different format when the overalls are tallied?
19:36It's going to be a very, very critical aspect to this day if that has a living.
19:40See what happens.
19:41Meanwhile, you're watching Shimoda, Forkner, DeFrancisco, Ryder, DeFrancisco out of California.
19:46The young Ryder, second full year as a pro, riding well in sixth.
19:50Davies right behind him.
19:51That's all in the bottom box.
19:53Yeah, you're looking at the lap times.
19:55It looks like now Seft has kind of stabilized that.
19:57Hayden was over two seconds a lap faster than him the previous lap, but now it's gap.
20:02You go back to that fourth position.
20:04Joe Shimoda was just as fast as Hayden Deegan, only two in the 159s.
20:08He's going to be bummed that he went down in the early part of the race.
20:10I almost wonder, now that Hayden has caught up to Seft, has it slowed Hayden down just a bit?
20:16Seft probably taking the preferred lines or same line, so naturally that would slow Hayden down.
20:21But again, another outside line by Hayden, and I'd love to see that.
20:27Yeah.
20:27A ride for Seft too, man.
20:29Yeah.
20:29I mean, both these guys, I think as you were saying, Hayden's realized he's got a pretty big lead on Levi,
20:33so he doesn't have to worry about him.
20:35And with two laps left, he's probably pretty confident as quickly as he caught Seft, he will get him.
20:40Here's a triple.
20:41Might be right here.
20:42Oh, he overjumped the triple.
20:44Well, pay attention to this line.
20:46Now Seft goes on the outside.
20:47We saw Hayden making those passes.
20:49He's got the inside.
20:50That was all she wrote.
20:51He's got it just like that.
20:53Deegan has erased a nearly 12-second deficit to take the lead with two to go.
20:59That's the eye of the tiger right there, James.
21:01As you know, the door opened up.
21:02Boom.
21:03He goes to the inside.
21:04Late break.
21:05Makes the move.
21:06Yeah, that was heads up.
21:07And as I said earlier, you start rotting behind you when you see that number one.
21:11You saw Seft take a look back to his left, and Hayden snuck on the inside of him.
21:15So nice move.
21:17Heads up, as you mentioned.
21:18These ruts in the back section are absolutely gnarly, JT.
21:22They are, Ricky.
21:24And two things kind of stand out here.
21:25Number one, the superior fitness of Hayden Deegan showing up once again.
21:29But for Seft, this has been a challenge all summer long.
21:33On the hottest of days, late in the moto, he has had a difficulty getting his body to
21:37respond and give its best effort late.
21:40And that is the case here again.
21:42When he needed it most, Hayden Deegan simply had more.
21:45You know what, though?
21:46Flowers to the hammocker, though.
21:48Kind of like I talked about at the beginning of the race, resetting for as well as he did
21:53early on in the Supercross championship.
21:56And to where he is now, I like it because I do feel like it's redemption for him.
22:01White flags out.
22:02One to go.
22:02You can hear the crowd beginning to respond as Deegan now has victory in sight.
22:07Packed house here at Z-Max Dragway.
22:09This guy is just in the zone, James.
22:11You know how it is, man.
22:13Yeah.
22:13No, he is.
22:14The whipping and all that.
22:15That's more.
22:15He understands that he just got to rock this out to win it.
22:18But he wants to send that statement.
22:19That's where you're getting the whips and stuff.
22:21And that's that attitude this kid has.
22:23Like, he has this victory locked up if he can stay on two wheels.
22:26But, no, I want more.
22:28I want more.
22:29And, no, very impressive.
22:30That's why you guys are number one, Clay.
22:31And big upset here in the last lap.
22:33Kitchen, who was a solid third, must have gone down.
22:36He's dropping through the field.
22:37And Shimoda, perhaps, as well, will get the official on that when they come through the
22:41checkered flag.
22:42But that could really change the championship order.
22:45Now we're heard that it might actually be where it is.
22:48Might be a transponder malfunction.
22:49We'll give you the official results in a moment.
22:51Yeah, that's a timing issue.
22:52Okay, we're good.
22:52They're still battling up here.
22:54And they're really close.
22:55They're only a second behind his teammate, Seth.
22:58And so, yeah, that battle might go all the way towards second place.
23:03Yeah.
23:03Well, Hayden Deegan, originally out of Temecula, California, the son of a former Supercross
23:10race winner, Brian Deegan, who then went on to do huge things, freestyle motocross in
23:14the X Games, his sister, a race car driver.
23:18So it is a racing family through and through.
23:21But he is carving his own legacy now.
23:23Multiple titles, Supercross, motocross, and Supermotocross.
23:28And this will be the maiden voyage on the 250.
23:31We expect to see him next summer and in this SMX playoffs on a 450 against the likes of
23:37Jet Loris and Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton.
23:40But he's still got his eyes on the prize in the 250s.
23:44And what a run it was.
23:45Just like last year, did not get the start.
23:47Had a big gap to make up for Hayden Deegan.
23:51It's just another day in the office.
23:53Well, he's locked in for sure.
23:56I mean, can you imagine if he got his starts locked in?
23:59Yeah.
23:59No, it's going to be good.
24:00Moto 1.
24:01Here he goes.
24:02And the crowd responds.
24:04Danger boy.
24:05Hayden Deegan wins Moto 1 of the playoffs in Charlotte.
24:12Good starts, bad starts.
24:13It don't matter.
24:15He's going to the front.
24:15He's going to the front.
24:17He's going to the front.
24:18He's going to the front.
24:18He's going to the front.
24:19He's going to the front.
24:20He's going to the front.
24:20He's going to the front.
24:20He's going to the front.
24:21He's going to the front.
24:21He's going to the front.
24:22He's going to the front.
24:22He's going to the front.
24:22He's going to the front.
24:23He's going to the front.
24:23He's going to the front.
24:24He's going to the front.
24:24He's going to the front.
24:25He's going to the front.
24:25He's going to the front.
24:26He's going to the front.
24:26He's going to the front.
24:27He's going to the front.
24:27He's going to the front.
24:28He's going to the front.
