Trinidad and Tobago is set to receive a donation.. of more than 800 artificial limbs from India.. as early as next week.
And, a special fitting camp is to begin within a month.., one of the key initiatives promised by India's prime minister during his recent state visit.

00:00Two months after India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to TNT,
00:06one of the key medical aid initiatives promised to this country is about to be delivered.
00:12The High Commissioner of India to TNT, Dr. Pradeep Rajparohit,
00:16made the announcement on Friday night during Ganesh Utsav celebrations in South Urupooch,
00:22which were also attended by Prime Minister Kamala Pasad Visesa.
00:26At the limb camp, which was announced by the Honourable Prime Minister,
00:30the consignment is reaching next week and we plan to do,
00:34we organise this limb camp at the National Council of Indian Culture Diwali Nagar campus next month early.
00:42An organisation in India is donating over 800 artificial limbs to TNT
00:47and a team of technical experts will be conducting an artificial limb fitting camp.
00:53First for the limbs, the prosthetic limbs, there are many people waiting eagerly on these
00:57and I welcome those landing on our shores and within our communities,
01:01please reach out to us and your MPs so we can bring you forward to get the prosthetic limb.
01:08I think a lot of people will be very happy with that.
01:10The Indian government also pledged 20 dialysis machines, 2 C ambulances and 2,000 laptops for school children,
01:19all areas that the High Commissioner said are progressing nicely,
01:24but did not confirm specific delivery timelines.
01:27He also gave an update on the promise of overseas citizenship of India OCI cards,
01:33which will soon be available to sixth generation members of the diaspora in Trinidad and Tobago.
01:39To understand it better, that we are organising a workshop at the Diwali Nagar on 20th of September
01:46and this will be the first of itself.

01:52On Friday night, the Indian High Commissioner, alongside Prime Minister Pasad Vissasa,
01:58were among guests of the Hindu community's Ganesh Utsav celebration in South Oropoosh.
02:04When Lord Ganesh was ridiculed for his appearance, and when he was ridiculed for his mannerisms,
02:12and then he was ridiculed because of his large stomach, in Trinidad we use it with belly, because of his large belly.
02:18I know what that feels like, but I too also know you have to have belly to stand up
02:25and fight against discrimination, injustice, and wrongdoing.
