00:00The Heisman odds.
00:01Nussmeier goes on the road last week.
00:02Again, credit for you, Joe.
00:03You liked LSU, LA Clemson.
00:05LSU was the better football team.
00:06Second half, they really took control.
00:07And that shows when you have a quarterback that can make plays
00:09in a big, tough environment, game number one, you like that.
00:12You know who else did that?
00:13Carson Beck at home.
00:14He was really good for Miami.
00:15A clear upgrade over what we were seeing from the Notre Dame quarterback
00:18themselves and CJ Carr.
00:20But now we look at the odds, Joe.
00:218-1 Price, Nussmeier.
00:22Carson Beck getting a lot of respect at plus 950.
00:25Lenore Selle is 10-1.
00:26And Cade Club that needs a big performance to try to get back up there
00:29at 14-1.
00:29Let's start with the first two.
00:31Nussmeier and Beck.
00:31Loved what I saw week number one from both of them, Joe.
00:33Absolutely.
00:34I mean, for LSU and Garrett Nussmeier, the biggest thing for me,
00:37and he completes over 60% of his passes, 238 yards, the big touchdown,
00:43and really poised in the pocket.
00:45Went through the progressions.
00:47You didn't see him force the throws and force turnovers.
00:50He was clean with the football, waited for his opportunity,
00:53took the underneath throws.
00:55That was a fantastic effort.
00:56The biggest thing for me on Carson Beck, offensive line, Donnie,
01:00he didn't get touched in that game.
01:03If they're going to play like that for Carson Beck, they're going to step up.
01:07He's got the potential to put up dynamic numbers, 210 yards, two touchdowns.
01:12He could just survey the field.
01:14CJ Daniels, that one-handed catch, by the way of Liberty at LSU.
01:18LSU couldn't utilize him because they're wide receiver U now.
01:22At Miami, he could be a star.
01:24Carson Beck looked like the player that we saw a couple years ago at Georgia
01:28with a huge, big offensive line.
01:31He threw a couple years ago, 72%, completion percentage, 24 touchdowns,
01:36three interceptions.
01:37He's well on his way to that type of effort.
01:39And if Miami strikes some upsets along the way, it's not going to be easy.
01:43But the schedule manages, where they could be 11-win football team,
01:48he could be in the running.
01:49Yeah, Carson Beck run a lot of football games in the SEC,
01:52which is a perfect segue now in this odds market here.
01:54You take a look at Arch Manning.
01:56He wasn't the runaway to win a Heisman, but he was everybody's All-American,
01:59everybody's Heisman before we saw that game last week.
02:01And it was quite surprising and eye-opening of what we actually got, Joe,
02:04from the performance for Arch Manning.
02:05Let's roll it over to today.
02:07Do I think he can win a Heisman?
02:08Sure, it's still early in the season.
02:09A lot of big games left he plays in the SEC.
02:11There's a chance to prove yourself.
02:12He didn't like what I saw, and it wasn't so much, Joe,
02:15from an opportunity like, ooh, man, he had three 40-yard plays
02:17he could have had just missed his guys.
02:19I'm talking short crossing routes to continue the drives
02:21and actually put up points to win that game.
02:23He didn't do it.
02:23No, no, and think about this.
02:25The mechanics looked awful, right?
02:27And so you think to yourself, well, he comes from the Peyton and Eli tree.
02:32He's out there quarterback camps each and every year, right?
02:35They're dating back to, what, he's like 12, 13 years old.
02:38Why are the mechanics so bad in that type of situation
02:44coming right out of the gate for Arch Manning?
02:46So they're not going to be challenged today by San Jose State.
02:50We know that, right?
02:51Can they cover?
02:52Sure, they can cover.
02:53He can put up three, four, five touchdowns, and everything's well and good.
02:56What does he do when he faces the likes of Georgia
03:00or he faces the likes of an Alabama if they regroup in a college football
03:04or an SEC championship type of atmosphere?
03:08That's what I want to see because he looked like a deer in the headlights.
03:11Donnie, they didn't attack over the top of Ohio State.
03:14Everything was a five-yard curl route or a hitch.
03:18I didn't see a 15-yard dig.
03:20I didn't see a post pattern.
03:21I didn't see anything until they trailed 14 to nothing in that matchup.
03:26How can that be when you have potentially the best quarterback in college football?
03:31That was a pathetic performance offensively by Sarkeesian.
