U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says "friendly governments are going to help" the U.S. in its new war on drug cartels.

Secretary Rubio made the remarks in Ecuador on Thursday as he acknowledged this country's government's praise of the U.S. military strike on what the U.S. says was a boat of Narco terrorists from Venezuela.

00:05Venezuela, they were congratulating us for it.
00:07They thought it was a great thing because they suffered from it.
00:10So we're going to continue to hunt for, like we always have, but this time we're not just
00:14going to hunt for drug dealers or the little fast boats and say, let's try to arrest them.
00:18No, the president has said he wants to wage war on these groups because they've been waging
00:21war on us for 30 years and no one has responded.
00:24But there's no need to do that in many cases with the friendly governments because the friendly
00:28governments are going to help us.
00:28They may do it themselves.
00:30And we'll help them do it.
