00:00Five reasons I hate you. We do it every week during the football season for the Texans' upcoming opponent.
00:04These are five reasons to hate the Rams. Text in the reasons you hate the Rams to 713-572-4610.
00:10Number five, Devontae Adams is on this team now. I find Devontae Adams annoying, and this is why.
00:17He is annoyingly bad at choosing what friends to follow.
00:21Oh, yes.
00:22Remember, he was on a really good team with the Packers.
00:25He's like, no, I want to go play with my friend Derek Carr, who I went to college with, with the Raiders.
00:31And his boy, the team that he loved as a boy, the Las Vegas Raiders?
00:38Right, right, right.
00:39All right, yeah.
00:40You want to go play for your college, your boyhood friend, and the logo of your boyhood team.
00:46That's right, that's right.
00:47So he goes there. Carr gets let go a year into the Devontae Adams experience.
00:52And so the friend he chose to play with, he wasn't even good enough to keep around.
00:56He gets sent to New Orleans.
00:57And so now he's got to play with Jimmy Garoppolo after that, who, as we found out during the
01:01Netflix series, receiver, that Devontae Adams is like, man, I'm getting killed every week
01:06out here.
01:07I'm going to get killed.
01:07I got to get out of here.
01:08You were the one who wanted to go there.
01:10And then you go to New York, and you and Aaron Rodgers are at the trade deadline, and
01:14you and Aaron Rodgers are acting like you pulled off this caper, this coup.
01:17You're sneaking in, in the back of the shot on McAfee, like trying to have this holy bleep
01:22moment.
01:23Oh my God, it's Devontae Adams, and he's at Aaron Rodgers' apartment.
01:26Oh my God, oh my God.
01:27What happened?
01:28Except for one half against the Texans, y'all stunk.
01:31You stunk.
01:32And Aaron Rodgers was gone, too.
01:34You're a quarterback killer, Devontae Adams.
01:36I bet Matthew Stafford's out of football next year because of you.
01:39You go to the Raiders, car gets shipped out.
01:41You go to the Jets, and Aaron Rodgers stinks, and now he's on the Steelers.
01:45Devontae Adams bothers me.
01:46That's reason number five.
01:47Yeah, fake-ass Cooper Cup wannabe replacement, whatever.
01:52That's right.
01:52You know what?
01:53Yeah, we have a chance to really smack around some narratives here.
01:57Yes.
01:58For some reason, Devontae Adams keeps getting pointed to over and over again.
02:02Ooh, they got Devontae.
02:03Ooh, they got Devontae Adams.
02:05Ooh, they got Devontae Adams.
02:07Yeah, yeah.
02:08How's that worked out for everybody that's gotten Devontae Adams?
02:10That's exactly right, other than one half against the Texans last year.
02:13Other than that.
02:14Number four.
02:16I mean, I could do the next three on the QB room, I'll call it.
02:20That's how many reasons there are to hate this team.
02:22I was able to put all the quarterbacks in one bullet point.
02:25Jimmy Garoppolo, biggest mimbo in the NFL.
02:29Male bimbo.
02:30Jimmy Garoppolo is a meathead quarterback.
02:32A himbo.
02:33A himbo.
02:35Stetson Bennett is widely hated.
02:37And part of me is like, I know he's widely hated.
02:41Why?
02:41And I asked ChatGPT, and boy, they give me a lot of reasons to hate Stetson Bennett.
02:45I love AI.
02:46But just to summarize, cockiness and swagger.
02:49Some view his confidence as arrogance.
02:51Displays of discontent on the field.
02:54Terrible body language.
02:55Passing limitations.
02:57He doesn't have any arm strength.
02:58Off-field behavior.
02:59He got arrested after the Georgia championship for public intoxication.
03:06That was when he was in college back then, yeah.
03:09What were you going to say?
03:11Yeah, he was banging on doors in a community of townhomes near downtown Dallas.
03:16He was just randomly banging on people's doors.
03:20And ChatGPT didn't have that one.
03:21That's interesting.
03:22Okay.
03:23Are you sure?
03:24You're not thinking of Jim Kelly's nephew there that was doing that?
03:28I'm thinking about this article.
03:29Georgia's national champion quarterback, Stetson Bennett, arrested after door knocking.
03:33There you go.
03:34Okay.
03:34I'm just making sure.
03:34Just making sure.
03:36And they said apparently he was on his phone during the Georgia parade, and people view
03:41that as him being aloof.
03:43He wasn't acknowledging fans.
03:45I don't have time for these people.
03:46Yeah.
03:46Yeah.
03:47For purposes of this segment, I'm here for that.
03:49Yeah.
03:50So Stetson Bennett, plenty of reasons to hate him.
03:53It's amazing that despite his success in college, that 5'11", 190 didn't get him drafted
03:58higher.
03:58I know.
03:59So Stetson Bennett and Jimmy Garoppolo.
04:01God, I hope we see one of those two guys on Sunday.
04:03Oh, that would be great.
04:04That would mean that the spear to Matthew Stafford's back that a listener wanted earlier
04:09probably have.
04:09And then Kelly Stafford.
04:10She's part of this quarterback room because she seems to do all of Matthew Stafford's
04:14talking for him.
04:16She's on podcasts out there.
04:17Yeah.
04:18Is Matt Stafford going to be allowed to play football next year?
04:22Is Matt Stafford going to be allowed to play?
04:23Kelly better watch it, man.
04:24Yeah.
04:24This is the same way.
04:25This is the kind of stuff Giselle was pulling back in the day.
04:28Yeah.
04:28She's like, oh, I don't know if...
04:30I know Matthew's not allowed to play for that franchise.
04:33Right.
04:33Right.
04:33No, Matthew needs more respect.
04:35Yeah.
04:35Remember when Matthew Stafford was rumored to be getting traded possibly to the Steelers
04:40and all the talking heads, all the Schragers and people like that out there were like,
04:44I don't know if Kelly's going to want that, you know, moving to a new city and whatnot.
04:49Like, okay.
04:50Like, so Kelly, yeah, Kelly Stafford.
04:53So she's part of the quarterback room for me.
04:55It damages her podcasting career.
04:57It does.
04:58If she's out of the hot spot that is LA.
05:00That's bingo.
05:00You're right.
05:01The only, that's why Dallas is always in play because, you know, Austin has become the
05:05new podcasting, you know, the hub of podcasting.
05:09So you live in Austin and commute to Dallas every day, a helicopter.
05:13That's number four, the quarterback room.
05:14Plenty of reasons to hate that quarterback room.
05:16Number three, I noticed this on their website, Seth.
05:19I, when I do this, when I put together the reasons for this segment each week, one of the
05:23first things I do is go to the website of the team and just open up the roster and
05:27go down the roster just to see if there's any specific players to hate.
05:31That's how I found Devontae Adams, you know, stuff like that.
05:34I started fishing around on the Rams website and they have a section for hall of famers
05:38that were Rams at one point, whether it's Los Angeles Rams or St. Louis Rams, whatever
05:44the case, they've got both.
05:45And some of them on there I'm fine with, like I'm fine with Kurt Warner and Jackie Slater
05:51and Jack Youngblood and got Merlin Olson, guys like that.
05:56Deacon Jones.
05:56I could go on.
05:57Eric Dickerson.
05:58I could go on and on.
05:58The Rams have a storied history of very, very good football players.
06:02They are also taking, for example, Ron Yeri, who was a hall of fame offensive lineman with
06:12Minnesota for 14 years, played eight games as a Ram.
06:16He's in their hall of fame page on their website.
06:19Eight games as a Ram in his last season in the NFL.
06:22Yeah.
06:23How about this one?
06:24James Lofton.
06:25You know James Lofton, right?
06:26Great player for the Bills and the Packers.
06:29Good for the Raiders as well.
06:30Now, he's on the Rams website and I'm saying to myself, boy, I don't really remember James
06:34Lofton as a Ram.
06:35Well, there's good reason for that.
06:37There's a good chance I missed the one game he played as a Los Angeles Ram.
06:42One.
06:43Yeah, this is beneath you, Los Angeles Rams.
06:46You're an organization that has had some great teams in the past and some great players.
06:51You've got plenty of guys.
06:52And you need to muddy the distinction of the dyed-in-the-wool Rams that are on that web
06:58page.
06:59Yes.
06:59You've denigrated and you've diminished the value of that web page.
07:03And I will not have it.
07:05Very well.
07:06Thank you very much.
07:08Jack Youngblood has to rub elbows in cyberspace with those guys that were just carpetbaggers
07:15through the organization.
07:16Yeah, man.
07:16Have some respect for yourself, Rams.
07:18Jerome Bettis being on there.
07:20Jerome Bettis.
07:20Now, Jerome Bettis was a pro bowler for the Rams his rookie year.
07:23But in the third year of his career, Rich Brooks got there as the head coach and wanted
07:28to move him to fullback.
07:30He wanted to move Jerome Bettis, the bus, to fullback in the NFL.
07:35And he said, well, we'll move you to fullback or we'll trade you.
07:38And Jerome Bettis said, I'll take a trade.
07:40And then he traded him to the Steelers.
07:41And I'm guessing he made the Hall of Fame far more on what he did in the black and gold
07:46than he did in the blue and gold.
07:48But the Rams are putting him up there in their Hall of Fame thingamajiggy.
07:51Yeah.
07:51You know what I like to do, Sean?
07:53What's that?
07:54It's available to me that isn't available to everybody else.
07:58And I go through pro football reference and I can look through people who have died in
08:03any given year from the NFL.
08:05This isn't nearly as much fun.
08:06That sounds fun.
08:07No, yeah, yeah.
08:08And I get an age select for guys that I might have known or played against and everything.
08:11Yeah.
08:12That's what I do.
08:12You go ahead and spend your time on Hall of Fame stuff.
08:14I do the Hall of Fame stuff.
08:15You're on there searching out.
08:16I wish it wasn't available to me.
08:17Honestly, no, I did it earlier this morning and now I'm remembering it now.
08:20I'm kind of sad.
08:21Yeah.
08:22I won't bring that to the radio show.
08:23Okay.
08:25Number two.
08:26And Champ Slice brings this up on the text page.
08:28I'm glad that number two for me.
08:29I'll just read Champ Slice.
08:30Reasons to hate the Rams.
08:32I would say L.A. fans suck, but they won a Super Bowl and nobody in L.A. cared.
08:36Right.
08:37Nobody in L.A. cared.
08:38And now they're all jumping on the bandwagon after.
08:41The Rams didn't get the Rams or L.A. didn't get the Rams back because there was this thirst
08:46for football in L.A.
08:47They got the Rams back because they're the second largest city in the United States.
08:52The commissioner made it his mission for over a decade to, like, somehow we got to get
08:59a team back in L.A.
08:59L.A., how do you feel about it?
09:03What's football?
09:04They did it in their vocal fry.
09:06They're like, I guess, yeah.
09:09I'd like to have a team.
09:10Are there going to be Instagram spots at the stadium?
09:13That's exactly right.
09:14That's exactly right.
09:15Will there be good?
09:16Can I film an OnlyFans video?
09:19Yep.
09:19That's exactly what it was, man.
09:21So bandwagon fans just jumped on the bandwagon.
09:24Some of them, some of them didn't even jump on the bandwagon after the Super Bowl.
09:28They're like uglier versions of Laker fans.
09:30Yes.
09:31You know?
09:32Yes.
09:33All right.
09:33Which, who am I, who can I, who's the eye candy sitting around the perimeter there?
09:37A hundred percent.
09:38You're like, oh, it's Jason Bateman's often never heard about
09:43brother or so.
09:44Yeah, yeah.
09:44You don't even get Jason or his sister.
09:47No.
09:47You get the third Bateman.
09:49I kind of like Justine back in the day, man.
09:50I like the sister.
09:51On Family Ties, she was pretty fire back in the day, man.
09:56All right.
09:56Number one.
09:57I didn't know how to handle this one, Seth, because you were on the field for this one.
10:01So maybe this is a big reason why you hate the Rams.
10:03But the birth of Fitzmagic happened with Ryan Fitzpatrick in a Rams uniform against the
10:112005 Houston Texans.
10:13Kevin Curtis.
10:15Another Ram first down and more.
10:19And the St. Louis Rams have come all the way back to win the ball game.
10:24No flags on the play.
10:27How about that?
10:28Just a quick scream to Kevin Curtis, their fastest wide receiver now, and he just gashes
10:33them and takes it all the way to the end zone for the win.
10:37Okay.
10:37What a horrible call that was.
10:39I mean, I know you guys weren't very good that year, and I'm thinking the Rams probably
10:43weren't.
10:43Well, it wasn't when we were definitively bad at that point in the year, was it?
10:47I can't remember what week of the season it was.
10:49It was like week of – it was in November.
10:50It was November.
10:51Was it late?
10:51Oh, it was in November.
10:52I was at the game.
10:53It was on Thanksgiving, and I was in town for Thanksgiving that year.
10:56Oh, we were definitively bad by that point.
10:58Yeah, yeah.
10:58You guys were like 1-10 at that point.
11:00Yeah.
11:01But what happened in that game, that was a game-winning touchdown you heard on there
11:04on Fox.
11:06The Rams were down 27-17 with under a minute to go in the game.
11:11Scored a touchdown to make it 27-24.
11:14Recovered an onside kick.
11:16Kicked a game-tying field goal.
11:17And then scored a game-winning touchdown in overtime.
11:21And that was the first time most of the nation had ever heard the name Ryan Fitzpatrick.
11:26Yeah, you know, do you remember when we had Ryan Fitzpatrick on the show a couple years
11:30ago?
11:30Yeah.
11:31Before a Thursday night game.
11:32I do.
11:32And I asked him about that.
11:33And I was like, hey, were you like – did you feel like – did you really dialed in
11:39and prepared for that game?
11:41Like, had you been studying all week and maybe you had an edge that most rookie quarterbacks
11:45wouldn't have?
11:46He's like, oh, no.
11:47I didn't know what the hell I was doing.
11:49You threw for 300 yards a night.
11:50Son of a bitch, Ryan Fitzpatrick.
11:52Yeah.
11:52Disrespect.
11:52Could you at least make me feel a little bit better about it?
11:55Disrespect.
11:56Disrespect.
11:57Yes.
11:58Oh, man.
11:59That was the St. Louis Rams.
12:00What do I care?
12:00Yeah, yeah.
12:01But just the Rams.
12:02This is a different squad.
12:02This is the L.A. Rams.
12:03The L.A. Rams.
12:04All right.
12:04Yeah.
12:04So there you go.
12:05There you go.
12:05That's five reasons.
12:06Five reasons to hate the Rams.
12:09And specifically – I'll give you one reason not to hate them.
12:12David Quesenberry is on this team.
12:13David Quesenberry is still in the NFL right now.
12:15Good for him, man.
12:16That's an incredible story, man, when you think about it.
12:18Yeah.
12:19Like, he was – I mean, I just remember him getting cut by Bill O'Brien on Hard Knocks
12:23in 2015.
12:24And we all know the cancer saga and everything else.
12:27Yeah, and that's not like a – that's not like it was – it wasn't – we're not criticizing
12:32Bill O'Brien.
12:32Not at all.
12:33No, no, no.
12:33It was hard for Bill O'Brien to cut David Quesenberry.
12:35No, no.
12:36You thought his career was over.
12:37Yeah, yeah.
12:37He got cut because he wasn't able to put on weight after cancer treatments and whatnot.
12:41Yeah.
12:42So it's –
12:42Yeah, for him to still be around.
12:44Like, it was cool enough that he had made it and became a starter in the NFL.
12:46Dude.
12:47But it's still – 10 years later, he's still on the team.
12:51He's still on a team.
12:52He's still kicking it, man.
12:53Like, that is a great story.
12:55Yeah.
