00:00The Rams have apparently seen enough of the thicker kicker.
00:03Less than 24 hours after their heartbreaking 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills,
00:08the Rams have released field goal kicker Harrison Mevis.
00:11Mevis missed two field goals on Monday night football,
00:14including the potential game winner that was blocked in overtime
00:19after the Rams had recovered a fumble.
00:21The Rams wasted no time finding his replacement,
00:23signing former New Orleans Saints kicker Blake Groupie
00:26off the New York Jets practice squad.
00:28Groupie's a little inconsistent.
00:30He is not the thicker kicker.
00:31He is only 5'8", 156 pounds, so a different approach.
00:36Now, obviously, head coach Sean McVay promised there would be changes after the loss,
00:39and clearly he wasn't kidding.
00:41The thicker kicker era in Los Angeles is now officially over after less than one year.
00:46But the Rams' special teams' problems?
00:48Those are still ongoing.
00:50I'm Michael Duarte.
