00:00I'm not gonna wash my face with that side. Hello everybody, it's Taylor Townsend, and I'm here
00:18to take you through my daily routine for my skin, and I'm doing my slick bun. I have to
00:25talk really close to this. I'm gonna stroke it. Step one of my routine is obviously cleanser,
00:37and I've been using the Fenty Skin Cleanser. First of all, I love Rihanna, so anything that
00:41she does, I want to support it. It's a really, really great cleanser. I also sweat a lot,
00:47so I need something that doesn't dry on my skin. I use cellulose sponges, and it can't
00:56touch anything, so I put it in the hotel cup, and this is what I do to make sure that my
01:03skin stays clean. Of course, it's stuck. There we go. I'm not gonna wash my face with that
01:19side. So, and then put the cleanser on, and we just go in a circular motion. Gotta get
01:43all the things, and trust me, cannot forget your neck. Gotta get the neck. This is actually
02:01very satisfying. The one thing that is annoying about skincare, everyone knows, is all the water
02:07drips down your arms. But sometimes I do use my wristbands that I play in on court. Then we
02:12pat dry. Done with that. This may seem a little weird to do after you pat dry, but the next
02:22step is I'm gonna re-wet my face, because I use a hyaluronic acid. It absorbs better with
02:28water. So, I re-wet my face to make sure that it absorbs perfectly, so we get the water just
02:36a little bit. Yeah. My next step is hyaluronic acid. So, let me tell you how I got into skincare.
02:502023, when I went to Europe, I was just using, like, one product, and their stuff, they're so
02:57good. The pharmacies are amazing. So, I just decided to go in, and I said, let me try stuff.
03:04So, I just started buying things. And one product turned into two. Two turned into five. Five
03:11turned into eight. And now I'm an addict. So, this is the hyaluronic serum. This really
03:18is great for hydration and moisture. That's a lot of what I need as an athlete, being in
03:23the sun so much. Just pat it into the skin. Make sure you get the under eyes and always
03:33get the neck.
03:34I got addicted to the result. It's very athlete-esque. So, when I started seeing my skin glow, I
03:45was like, oh my god. But then it can turn bad. I started to buy acid things and burned
03:51my skin. It's on brand with my personality. I do a little bit too much. So, that's hyaluronic.
03:57You can see that the skin is bouncy. This is one of my favorite products. This is the
04:05Caudalie Phenoperfect Serum. It is so amazing, and it's really great, especially for having
04:10pigment to skin to reduce dark spots and stuff. And I got it in Europe, so I was like, if it's
04:17there, it has to be great. We're just gonna do this. I don't know how comfortable my manager
04:32is with me putting white stuff on my skin on camera, but hey, it's for the cause. Same
04:38thing as the hyaluronic. We're just gonna tap it in. I also learned things from like watching
04:47on Instagram and stuff. You're not supposed to pull down. You're supposed to go in like
04:51the direction up and stuff. I don't know, but I just saw it, so now I do it. For a normal
04:59day, it probably takes me like an hour to get dressed because I have like a whole, as you
05:05can see, a whole routine. But then I also started doing like dry brushing and like lymphatic
05:10drainage stuff, so that's an extra like 20 minutes. When I saw that it was like, I was
05:17like, oh, I'm gonna keep doing this, so. Okay guys, we can't let the products dry, so we
05:22gotta keep layering. The more that the skin is hydrated, the better that everything soaks
05:27in. That's why you start with hyaluronic, because it basically brings the products all
05:32just into your skin. I'm all about being snatched, waist snatched, body snatched, booty snatched,
05:41eyes snatched, skin snatched. Everything's gotta be snatched. Okay, next up. Attention, attention.
05:50So, this is a new step that I've added into my routine. Shout out to Sloane Stevens, because
05:55she gave me a customized face gua sha. I didn't know what this was. I thought this was for
06:02your muscles. I'm getting the Caudalie Grape Water Spray. This is really, really great for
06:09you to be able to like protect your skin from all of the things that it may be exposed to
06:15throughout the day, so it's kind of like a barrier. So, I'm gonna put this on, and then
06:18I'm gonna do some sort of massage-y thing with this, and we're gonna see how it goes.
06:27I look like a glazed donut. So, there are two sides. There's like a serrated side, and
06:32then the smooth side, I'm just gonna use a smooth one, because I'm not trying to have
06:35myself look crazy. I don't know. You just go underneath the eyes. So, this is to help
06:42kind of like bring blood to the areas. This kind of hurts. Beauty is pain. Beauty is pain.
06:52I guess I needed it. And also, what I learned from the YouTube girlies, and the TikTok girlies,
06:57and the Instagram girlies are like, you gotta go like up, like opposite of like how Wrinkles
07:01would come. Gunna's album just came out, so I'm listening to that. I've been heavy on Justin
07:07Bieber's album. And also, Giffion came out with another album, so I've got like all the
07:12vibes. I'm a music head. Like, I don't know if I'm supposed to use the tip. That's what
07:16he said. I'm just gonna put that there, tap it, and we're gonna leave that down. Now you
07:24see me, I'm there. I'm just gonna add a little more spritz, because why not? Okay, you gotta
07:33be your biggest hype man, right? I have the best lips. That's just my thing. And I feel
07:39like they're special, because I have three freckles that make a little triangle on my
07:43lips. So, I just love my lips. And there's one thing that I hate is ashy lips. So, we
07:48got the next product, which is the Tatcha Lip Mask, which is amazing. You're supposed to
07:51sleep in it, but I use it all the time, because why follow directions, right? If you want soft,
07:56kissable lips. This is it. This is the Tatcha Japanese Lip Mask. When you see this, you're
08:06gonna be like, I've actually been told that it looks like I was kissing a piece of fried
08:14chicken or something greasy. They said, you look like you was kissing a bucket of fried
08:18chicken. Also, look at this. This is so cute. It comes with a little spoon, and a little goes
08:24a long way, guys. So, don't use too much. But, again, directions. I'm just gonna go here.
08:37I don't know if you can see my little freckle at the top, but it kind of accentuates that.
08:43I have been using this probably for like, maybe a year and a half. It lasts a long time, which
08:52is very nice as well. It's expensive, but it works, and it lasts. Trust your girl. Lips.
08:59Now, the next step. You have to set everything. I have an LED light mask, and that is gonna
09:05have everything just completely soak and saturate into my skin. It also gives me a glow. It tightens
09:12the pores. It makes everything just look... I don't know what this is, but I feel like you
09:19guys get me, and I'm gonna show you how I'm gonna turn into sorrow. We have the Cure
09:27LED light mask. This is actually also really great to travel with. I have one at home that's
09:33bigger. Did you guys ever watch the movie The Mask? The Mask. And then, also, I feel like
09:44one of the basketball players that got hit in the face. I feel like I should just go
09:48out on the court with this. So, they're little rubber eye things, and all you do is literally
09:53just put it on, turn it on, sit down, and just chill. How do I look, guys? I'm gonna walk
10:05out on the court with this, and they're gonna be like, oh, Taylor's on today. Okay. And
10:12then, we just sit here and cook. I'm not gonna cook too long, because I still gotta go to
10:17practice. But we're gonna sit here and cook, at least to let the products soak in. And I
10:23usually do this at night, so I really just want you guys to know that you're special for
10:27me to do this during the day. And not only during the day, but to be on freaking camera
10:33with this on. I think little Taylor would be the most proud of the woman that she's become.
10:40I think little Taylor would be the most proud of how she's fought and how resilient that
10:45she's been. To be number one in the world is just something spectacular. So, she would
10:52be the most proud of that. Everyone clock that. Wait, let me do it right now. Okay, guys.
11:02I'm gonna take this shit off. Oh, it got colors. It has colors. Oh my god. Okay. Now, we get
11:14to the black things, the black girl magic. We all know hair is very big for us. So, I'm
11:20gonna take you through how I slick my hair back and make sure that my curls are popping,
11:26edges are laid for the games and for the matches, okay? These products are not pretty. It's not
11:31cute because I use them all the time. I use water. I'm a water girl. I wet my hair every
11:37day, which a lot of black women usually don't do. I sweat a lot, especially in my head.
11:43So, I co-wash my hair a lot, which is like, you only use conditioner. First, let me take
11:47my hair off. Don't mind this, but we're gonna fix it. Just wait. I'm just gonna wet this
11:56a little bit. This is probably gonna drip all over me, but it's fine. Okay. I'm a big
12:05leave-in conditioner girl because hydration for my hair, just like my skin, I have to have
12:09it. I'm constantly in the sun. I'm changing environments. I'm changing climates. So, I
12:16have to have something that hydrates my hair and that lasts even when I'm sweating. The
12:20Miel products have been so amazing, particularly this line. And I also use them on my son's
12:27hair because they're clean. The ingredients are great. So, this is what I've been using for
12:32my curls to kind of set my curls and also to hydrate my hair. Also, like we spoke about
12:43directions, time-size them out. We'll go dollar-size them out. One more pump. So, we take this, rub
12:54it in. And I go from, like, tip to the root. So, I go out and then I bring it in. I also
13:04get in the middle because that's the one-that's the place I neglect the most. Make sure I get
13:09all of that. Make sure I get the front. We got our handy-dandy trusted old-ass brush. I've
13:20had this brush for so long. I like to hold the ponytail and get everything up first and
13:28get it really smooth and then I go back and do everything up. So, I hold it. I don't know
13:35if you can hear it, but... A lot depends on the weather. Like, today is cloudy, so I know
13:47that I don't need a visor. I just need to put on sunscreen before I go out on the court.
13:52I don't need any, like, anything to cover my face. So, if it's cloudy, then I usually
13:57will do a high bun. But if it's very sunny and super hot, a low bun would add on. I think
14:04we need a little bit more water, so I'm just gonna go in the sink because no judgment, right?
14:09Bring it up. Got my scrunchie. I'm a one scrunchie girly because I pulled out my edges and I was
14:17looking like a bald-haired scatty way because I had way too much tension in the front. So,
14:22now I use claw clips or I keep my bun, like, very loose. When I'm on the court, it's tight
14:29so it doesn't fall out. But if I'm not, it's loose. So, I usually do, like, two times around.
14:34But I want it to be tight for y'all, so I'll do it three times around. So, then we take
14:40it, we pull. I don't like this. I don't like the ponytail. See, this is the annoying thing
14:47about curly hair, guys. It can be good in your head and then you do it and it's trash. It's
14:54a lot of revisions. So, we go back. We're gonna bun it. One, two, and put that there. I like
15:11little curls at the bottom because I think it's cute. Okay, guys, as a black woman, it's not done
15:18unless you do your edges, okay? This is another product that I love that I've been using for a
15:22very long time. Probably, like, three years now. My Ale Rosemary Mint Edge Gel. This stuff,
15:28I really, really like because it's something that I can use every day. One of the things
15:32that sucks about, like, edge controls is that they're too heavy. I sweat a lot. So, whenever
15:36you have a lot of heavy products, it drips down your face and I start to break out here
15:41and along my jawline. So, this product has been really, really great for me.
15:45Another black woman staple.
15:54Edge brush. I have probably, like, ten of these. I have two in my locker at the tournament. I
16:01have one in my Encore pack. Why I need an edge brush Encore? Who knows? But you never want
16:06to be unprepared. Edges make the look so, like, if my hair is messed up, it can still look kind
16:12of good. Watch how this transforms. It's a method to it. This is the scooper. Scoop it.
16:17Put it on your hand. I won't do that. I'm just going to show you guys how I do it. So,
16:21I just go in with the brush first. Just go in. I like to go here on the tops. One, a little
16:29side burn. And then, I have one little spook that I try to do in the front. So, let's see
16:35if it cooperates with me. Don't be shy with the products. That's the one thing with this
16:45one. I know that it works and it's not that bad. And also, look at the shine, baby. The
16:50shine. And then, I like to do one little piece in the front, usually. I don't know what it
16:55is about this little one, but she's cute. And then, I go with the comb and just kind of,
17:00like, clean it up. Make it more defined. And then, you brush that up. And then, got to
17:07show this mic some love. There we go.
17:18I would say that this is the last step because if you do edges first, it can get messed up.
17:23Usually, I'd put a scarf on, but I didn't bring that. So, I'm a fresh face. Hair be fresh
17:29face. Good fit. That's me. I play my best when I'm having fun and I'm enjoying myself.
17:35This is why things like this are so great for me because I can be myself and have fun.
17:39There are times on court where you feel like you have to be somebody, but I've learned that
17:44being me is more than enough. So, just enjoy. Embrace it. Lay your edges, girl, and go kick
17:51some ass. Okay. So, this is kind of the best that I can do. You see the shine. You see it's
17:57laid. It ain't going nowhere. Oh, you guys can't forget the back. You can't have the
18:02kinks in the back. Yo. Spust those up real quick. I'm really happy with this. This came
18:09out good for, like, a little tiny mirror. I'm a clean freak, so I cannot have, like, clutter
18:15in my space. So, I'm the type where I'm, like, I'm going to put everything back. Make sure
18:19that everything is put together because you can't have your space dirty, you guys. And
18:26also, I move around so much from, like, hotel to hotel, place to place. I never really unpack.
18:34Also, these products are mad expensive, so, like, gotta protect them. All the skincare
18:38gets me thirsty. It went on my lip. Look at the lips are still hydrated. Still nice, still
18:55shiny, still glowing. Okay, everybody. This has been so much fun. I'm so glad we got to
19:01do this. I've always dreamed of doing ASMR. So, thank you for getting ready with me. Now,
19:07I'm slayed and ready to go practice. If anyone compliments me on my bun or tell me that my
19:13skin looks good, you know why. Have an amazing day. Tune in. Follow me. Make sure that you
19:18follow this journey at the US Open. It's going to be freaking epic. Love you guys.
