Foreign minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said Malaysia will not join the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) yet, stressing the priority remains on strengthening Asean while enhancing cooperation with the SCO.

00:27The SCO formed in 2001 is seen as an alternative power structure to most US-led international institutions
00:34promoting cooperation in politics, economy, security and technology among others.
00:41Its 10 members are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus.
