00:00Mr. Vice-Chancellor, a lot has been said during the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Gatherings.
00:05Congratulations to all three of you who have successfully held the Gatherings.
00:13Speaking of Palestine, God willing, we, Malaysia, will continue to bring our voice to all corners of the world.
00:22Our issue of supporting the Palestinian people's struggle is not new today.
00:28Since 1948, when the Zionist State of Israel was established,
00:37we have spoken to our fellow citizens that this is a wrong thing to do.
00:45The cruelty committed was not committed on 7 October.
00:50The people of Palestine were killed, the people of Palestine were banished,
00:54and the people of Palestine fled from the land because their houses were burnt down in 1979, 75 years ago.
01:03That is why a lot of people are confused when they say that the Palestine crisis only happened on 7 October.
01:11That is why they say that they support the human rights,
01:21that the Zionist regime has the right to defend itself.
01:26No, they are not doing violence.
01:32They want to get back their land.
01:35So let us not get confused.
01:38Our support towards the Palestinian struggle is not because they are Muslim or not.
01:44This is a struggle that we support because of crimes against humanity,
01:50and also genocides against the Palestinians.
01:53That is what we want to emphasize.
01:57We will continue to fight for the rights of the people of Palestine.
02:01We will continue to make sure that Palestine will become a free country
02:07and become one of the countries in the United Nations.
02:13About the BRICS, ladies and gentlemen, we do want to join the BRICS.
02:18Not because we want to join, but because we were invited.
02:21The President of Brazil, President Lula,
02:24had a phone conversation with our Prime Minister.
02:29That is when he invited Malaysia to join the BRICS.
02:34The BRICS is a large country.
02:38It has a GDP of 37% of the world's GDP.
02:42Its population is up to 41%.
02:47It is a country that produces oil.
02:5041% of the world's oil reserves.
02:53The BRICS is not a group that needs us to sign a treaty.
03:01It is an informal group
03:04that we want to voice our opinions
03:07on how the Global South has been left behind
03:13and we want to make sure that the voice of the South
03:17is heard by the international community.
03:20Malaysia wants to join the BRICS
03:22not because we want to join in a defence treaty.
03:27It is an informal group
03:32that is based on the global economy.
03:3837% of the world's GDP is in the BRICS economy.
03:43The rest will be managed by ASEAN next year.
03:48If possible, Mr. President,
03:50let us promote together
03:54that Malaysia will be the leader of ASEAN next year.
03:58The whole world wants to see Malaysia
04:03become an effective leader.
04:06A leader who can solve the South China Sea problem.
04:10A leader who can solve the Myanmar problem.
04:14A leader who can solve the maritime issue
04:18in the South East Asia region.
04:21This is a big responsibility for Malaysia
04:25that we need to achieve together.
04:27I don't need to say anything else.
04:30It is already 6.30pm.
04:31Mr. President, you have 30 minutes.
04:33I want to remind you that
04:35this is not an easy task.
04:37It can't be too difficult.
04:45It can't be too difficult.
04:48That's all.
04:50Mr. President, you have 30 minutes
04:52to give us your advice.
